He's not a franchise QB yet. He's still developing with plenty of positive signs that he could be. The immediacy of this week's upcoming game is something I'm looking beyond even if others such as you are not. It's another opportunity to face a challenge that he'll learn from to his benefit in the long run whether they win or not.

Beyond the stats, consider the following: 43 yard PI call on a beautifully thrown ball to Foster to set up the 1st TD that was run in by Allen. The narrow miss on the deep pass to Deonte Thompson that was a great throw and read by Allen. The intermediate throw to Zay Jones OTM that was a tad high, but I consider it a dropped pass. Again a great read. Zay also had at least one other pass he could have come down with. Allen had a couple he got away with, but let's chalk that up to his inexperience. Allen had a good day in the pocket with the Lions' D limiting opportunities to extend plays to either throw or make plays with his legs. It was a good day for Allen on the progress and growth chart. The NE offense isn't some juggernaut these days and losing Gordon won't help their cause.

LeSean McCoy knew that Robert Foster’s attitude had to be addressed. Yes, the offense had been struggling to score points. They had been shut out at Green Bay and managed just 13 points in each of their two games that followed. And Foster saw his playing time dwindling with each passing week. But for an undrafted rookie to be grousing about playing time was out of line. “At the time we weren’t doing well, and everybody was frustrated,” McCoy told Buffalobills.com. “He’s a young kid and he has tons of talent that you can see. I’ve seen players like him before and what they’ve become, but I had to talk to him.”

Bills Need to Take Evaluation to Next Level Over Final Two Games For all intents and purposes, the 2019 preseason has started for the Buffalo Bills. With the playoffs out of reach for this season’s campaign, Buffalo’s focus needs to shift toward which players will be a part of this squad during the next calendar year.

Meh. It's exactly what Matt Patricia did last week and Allen made plenty of plays from the pocket. They made him "Be a Quarterback" and he was just that.

AFC East: Bills Stay in 3rd Place
26CornerBlitz replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo Bills Needs: OL, WR, CB Projected Picks (10): 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th (from KC) 5th, 5th (from OAK), 6th, 7th, 7th (from CAR) From the Nathan Peterman debacle to the positive signs from Josh Allen, the 2018 season has been a mixture of plenty of emotions for the Bills. Allen has shown lots of positive signs and looks well on his way to being the team’s option under center for the foreseeable future. Despite their youth, the defense has a plethora of solid building blocks. Tre’Davious White, Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds seem to be the foundation, and there’s an encouraging mixture of veteran presence within it. General manager Brandon Beane should follow Bears GM Ryan Pace’s blueprint for a turnaround to quick success. Building around his young signal-caller should be paramount. Dion Dawkins is a promising offensive tackle, but finding more protection up front should be a top priority. Beane should complement that with perimeter weapons to add to a slim receiver corps of Zay Jones, Robert Foster, and Isaiah McKenzie. A versatile pass-catching tight end could also be another option to help Allen. Prospect That Makes Sense: OT — Jonah Williams — Alabama -
Just one small sample of the excellent breakdown of Allen's recent progress by Erik Turner and Nate Geary.
