  1. The remainder of what McCown wrote about Allen in this preview piece: Where Allen has actually been dangerous is with his feet. He has 30 DYAR on the ground as a scrambler. The Texans, under defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, have at times been a heavy man-to-man defense. I would not be surprised if Allen converted a few first downs with his legs should they live up to that on Sunday. If the Texans are able to catch Allen with their pass rushers, they should be able to create some key opportunities for the offense. Allen has taken a league-high 19 sacks, putting him on pace for one of the 10 worst seasons in that category in league history. He’s been pressured on 30.3 percent of his dropbacks per Sports Info Solutions data, and hasn’t reacted very well to it. Per NFL Matchup’s data, his quarterback rating when pressured is 1.6. It would not be surprising for the Texans to create a defensive touchdown or at least turn the ball over deep in Buffalo territory for the offense. In fact, the Texans should worry about the pass rush if it doesn’t step up this week.
  2. Bills: 4 reasons to be concerned vs. Texans By: Justin DiLoro Stop if you’ve heard this one before about the Buffalo Bills: they are squaring off against a team that has more perceived talent than themselves. It’s no different this Sunday, as the Bills take on a Houston Texans team will playmakers all over the field. While Buffalo has gutted out two victories this season, it’s going to take something special to compete against this fellow AFC foe. Here are four reasons for the Bills to be concerned entering this weekend’s game. J.J. Watt Deshaun Watson Texans’ wide receiving corps Texans’ run defense
  3. That was Washington. The Browns signed him instead of Rishard Matthews.
  4. Todd Gurley will pound them just as Isaiah Crowell did to the tune of over 200 yards rushing.
  5. Joe B: 5 Things to Watch for in Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans (10/14/18) In Week Five, the Buffalo Bills caught the favored Tennessee Titans by surprise and wound up getting their second victory of the season. In Week Six, in the midst of their four road game in five slog, the Bills get an AFC South opponent once again in the Houston Texans. The Texans, like the Bills, enter the game with a 2-3 record after a much-needed victory. How do the two sides match up? Five things to watch for when the Bills take on the Texans in Houston: 1) The Derek Anderson tutelage begins 2) Will the Bills limit McCoy’s touches? 3) Tre’Davious White’s biggest test yet in 2018 4) J.J. Watt vs. the right side of the OL 5) Trent Murphy’s performance could be game-shaping Injury Report Buffalo: None Houston: OUT: CB Aaron Colvin (ankle), LB Brian Peters (ankle) QUESTIONABLE: QB Deshaun Watson Projected Inactive Players: QB Derek Anderson, WR Robert Foster, T Conor McDermott, G Wyatt Teller, G Ike Boettger, CB Dontae Johnson, S Siran Neal Prediction: Texans over Bills
  6. How Derek Anderson Could Become Bills' Starting QB Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- As Buffalo Bills players walked off the field Thursday, defensive tackle Kyle Williams teased quarterback Derek Anderson that the gray T-shirt he wore under his No. 3 jersey hardly showed any signs of sweat after a 90-minute practice. "I’ve seen a lot of football -- I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs in my career and just be a guy that he can lean on," Anderson said Wednesday, one day after the veteran signal-caller signed a contract with the Bills. "[He can] ask me any question." Beyond serving as the sage of the quarterback room, what would it take for Anderson to be pressed into duty as the starter? Other than an injury to Allen, it is hard to say at this point. For now, the bigger question is whether Anderson is capable of being Allen's backup. Bills coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Nathan Peterman will continue as the team's No. 2 quarterback, meaning Anderson likely will be inactive when the Bills travel Sunday to play the Houston Texans. However, McDermott considered the topic a "crystal ball question" in which he could not predict the future.
  7. Week 6: Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans Preview Erik Turner - Cover 1 The Buffalo Bills travel to Houston, Texas to take on the Texans at NRG Stadium this Sunday. It’s the second straight week the Bills take on an AFC South opponent, and the away team is looking for the same result this week. Both teams sit at 2-3, but the Bill O’Brien-led Texans have been in every game. Each game of theirs has been decided by seven points or fewer. As always, the Bills are underdogs on the road, and rightfully so. The Texans boast a wealth of talent. In order for the Bills to pull off another upset, they will need to execute the following:
  8. Bills vs. Texans: Time, TV Schedule and How to Watch The Buffalo Bills will look for back-to-back wins as they’ll head to Houston to face the Texans on Sunday during Week 6. The Texans are also 2-3 overall and an AFC foe, so the game could be a big win come playoff time. But before all that here’s step one. All the info you need to keep up with the action:
  9. Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans: Preview, odds, predictions for Week 6 By Matt Parrino | mparrino@nyup.com HOUSTON -- The Buffalo Bills (2-3) recorded their second win of the season last week against the Tennessee Titans in a defensive struggle that came down to the final possession. Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen has struggled the last two weeks after a breakout game on the road in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. Allen threw for 200 yards and a touchdown and added two more rushing touchdowns to lead the Bills to the 27-6 upset win. Allen was helped last week by Buffalo's running game that got going behind LeSean McCoy, who totaled 100-plus yards in total offense for the first time all season. He ran for 85 yards and made a key play on the final drive to help set up the game-winning field goal. With a win Sunday against the Houston Texans (2-3) the Bills would improve to .500 and firmly place themselves in the thick of the playoff race. If they lose Sunday the hole may be too deep to climb out of for a team led by a rookie quarterback still in the beginning stages of the development process.
