10-15: Sean McDermott on WGR (7:52) McDermott: "When you look at it, you always look back and evaluate yourself, and things we could have done differently. We didn't get the result we wanted yesterday." McDermott on Allen's injury: "It's a numbers deal. You only get so many guys that you can suit up on an active roster for any given Sunday." McDermott on Derek Anderson: "That represents a challenge since he's only been here a week, but we'll do what we can this week. Is he ready to play in a game physically, and does he know the offense well enough to get through a game?" McDermott: "It's a challenge. You can't always get the roster that you want on a given week because of the numbers game with the roster." McDermott on Peterman: "You feel for him in some regard. He drove us to a lead, and had things ended differently this would be a different story. He has to learn from it." McDermott: "At the end of the day you want to make sure that you're putting the players in a position to be successful."

Allen looked very good today

Giving him more to do in with a higher degree of complexity when he can't process fast enough isn't putting him in the best position to win. -
He needs open and honest counsel from McDermott regarding an updated resume for his next career path.

Vanilla offense? Allen has a lot to do with this when he can't even decipher the easiest of half field reads. -
Colts' Defense Moving Backward After Strong Start to Season Mike Wells ESPN Staff Writer EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Indianapolis Colts linebacker Anthony Walker let out a long sigh and then took a seat before talking. The second-year player is part of a defensive unit that carried the Colts early in the season. But on Sunday, the defense started strong before struggling the rest of the way when the offense was scrambling to get back in the game in a 42-34 loss to the New York Jets. "Definitely, we're frustrated," Walker said. "We're young -- don't want to hear that. We're a young team, but we're in the NFL. We had our chances but didn't make them. We have to make sure this isn't something that carries over."

Quick Hits: Allen week to week with elbow injury It was an elbow injury that kept Josh Allen from finishing Sunday’s game against the Texans. On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott provided an update on Allen’s condition. “Josh Allen will be week to week,” said McDermott. “At this point I’ll leave it up to the docs. It’s a week to week situation.” When asked if Allen is a long shot to play on Sunday, Buffalo’s head coach said he’s leaving all options on the table including his rookie signal caller. Anderson working to get up to speed The other option in the event that Josh Allen can’t play Sunday at Indianapolis is newly acquired QB Derek Anderson. Despite being a 13-year veteran, there is a learning curve he still must travel having only been with the club for six days. “I think the newness, whether it’s the offense to some extent, the players he’d be working with,” said McDermott. “It’s just the familiarity and the trust you build over the course of reps. So that’s the challenge.”

Not an NFL QB as he's shown on multiple occasions. Sean knows defense, not QBs.

10-15: Kyle Williams on WGR (13:56) Williams: "You have peaks and valleys anywhere in life. Peterman has definitely had some of those so far in the NFL." Williams: "I think we've got some really sound-minded guys in this room. You're either going to let it define you and learn from it, or go in the tank." Williams: "I think [the defense] really put the team in a position to win. Unfortunately, we as a whole were not able to put that nail in the coffin." Williams: "It was a good day, not a great day. A great day would have been closing out that win." Williams on parity: "That's the ultimate challenge as a football team. You look at the last two weeks, there were like 7 or 8 teams that lost this week, who were coming off a win two weeks ago." Williams: "The main statistic I pay attention to is wins." Williams: "At this point in my career, the only thing I'm chasing is wins." Williams: "I don't sit at home after games thinking about the great plays I made, I sit there thinking about the plays I missed."
