  1. Africa? Too many countries to even answer this question.
  2. You're exchanging with someone who posted YouTube video of Peterman against the Saints last year in garbage time to show how good of a passer he is.
  3. Mic'd Up: Shaq Lawson (2:57) In this edition of "Mic'd Up" we put the mic on Defensive Lineman Shaq Lawson for the week 9 matchup with the Chicago Bears. Stats: Increased production highlights Shaq Lawson's growth The Bills defense gave up three touchdowns in Sunday’s loss to Chicago, but all of them came on short fields for the Bears. Performing well in the defensive effort was Shaq Lawson, who stepped in at left defensive end for the injured Trent Murphy. Lawson posted a career-high seven tackles on just 40 snaps, and added a quarterback hit and a pass breakup. Two of his tackles dropped Bears RB Jordan Howard for a loss. Lawson had a third down stop for no gain and had a quarterback hit on Mitchell Trubisky that led to a third down incompletion and punt by Chicago. "Shaq has been a bright spot for us," said McDermott. "He's a young man that when we came here I know he had some inconsistency in his history in terms of being available. Here's a young man who has developed on the field and off the field. Has he reached a final landing spot? No, but he showed Sunday he's on the upward climb and I'm extremely proud of how he has progressed this season, and the job that coach Teerlinck and coach Whitecotton have done with him."
  4. Of course he didn't play well. Week 9 Quick Reads | Football Outsiders by Vincent Verhei If you're reading this website, you're probably already aware that Nathan Peterman had a terrible day against the Chicago Bears, the latest of a string of terrible days in his brief career. If Peterman's struggles against Chicago are news to you, you can thank the Bears' social media team for sharing some of the young quarterback's worst plays: If you're keeping score (and considering the nature of this particular column, there is a very good chance that you are), that's three interceptions for Peterman in 49 passes this weekend -- and as a result of this performance, Peterman's career and single-season interception rates both went DOWN. After all, this is the same man who threw two interceptions in 18 passes in Week 1 against Buffalo, and two more in 12 passes in Week 6 against Houston, and five in 14 passes in Week 10 against San Diego last year (as documented in Quick Reads at the time). In only 81 passes this season, Peterman has thrown seven interceptions. That's more than a dozen different full-time starters. In just a year and a half, Peterman has thrown 130 passes, and a dozen of them have been intercepted. He has thrown more picks since 2017 than either Drew Brees (nine) or Alex Smith (eight), who have started 47 games between them.
  5. That all sounds nice. However we listen to a HC in McDermott who continually talks of running the ball and being tough because of Buffalo weather. Never have I heard him talk of a high powered offense that forces defenses to be on their heels because of explosive play potential. He seems philosophically out of step with the modern NFL.

  7. 11-6: Phil Housley on WGR (16:13) #Sabres head coach Phil Housley joins Jeremy White next on WGR! Tune in: Housley - The proof is in the pudding. Since Eichel, Skinner and Pominville have been together, they've been dynamic. I see what I see, and I think they're creating and not spending a lot of time in their own zone. Hope to see this continue. #Sabres Housley - The better you are without the puck, the more you have it. Eichel is a great 200-foot player and a powerful man when he has the puck. That line attacks the game real well through the neutral zone, and Jack is a big part of that. #Sabres Housley - the guys have done a good job of working together as a team and having an aggressive mindset of attacking as a team. We've been thinking fast, moving fast and playing fast. In return, we're pushing more up the ice and we've had a much better shot mentality. #Sabres Housley - We haven't scored a much as we want to, so there is some work that we need to do. Primarily we need to attack Zone 1 (in front of the net). We're at our best when we're attacking that area and paying a price to score goals. #Sabres Housley - there is discretion when it comes to shot selection. If there is a play to be made, we allow them to make them. It's about getting the puck to the net. If we don't have that play, we have to take what we're given. #Sabres Housley - we have a plan in place for all of our young players. We are looking to try and develop our guys and find areas of improvement. #Sabres Housley - Dahlin is getting better every day. It's been a grind for him, and the biggest for him is learning the characteristics of players around the league and get some time away from the game to get energized and re-booted. Housley - Dahlin is a student of the game. He wants to learn and get better, he really works hard, he's a great teammate and he comes to work every day. I like how he's developed his game to this point. #Sabres Housley on Skinner - He's been great for our group. He's fit in well and gotten comfortable with his teammates. He also approaches the game very well. The guys have enjoyed his company as well, and he's helping us win hockey games. #Sabres
  8. A good situation should be built around the QB just as it's been done in PHI, KC, and LA with young QBs. It's excuse making.
  9. That's a tired old excuse to not get with the modern NFL. People act as if the days of the Steel Curtain or the 2000 Ravens D are still possible.
  10. Anything can happen in a game between two opponents see Bills vs. Vikings in week 3. That does not refute the point.
  11. Outscoring the opponents does not mean making offense a priority over defense in player acquisition and overall philosophy. Jacskonville had to outscore Pittsburgh in a shootout to make it to the AFC Championship and look at their vaunted defense this year. Their so called elite defense has been torched this season. Defense 1st is not a sustainable model.
  12. Bottom line. Offense wins in the modern day NFL.
  13. McDermott indicated that he does in his presser yesterday.
