  1. Bears, Colts, Saints among NFL's statement makers in Week 10 9) Sean McDermott still has the Buffalo Bills' attention Matt Barkley under center? No problem. Buffalo humbled/embarrassed/smoked the Jets in New York, 41-10. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Jets don't plan on firing Todd Bowles during the season, but let's be honest: He's done. The Bowles era of Jets football is on borrowed time, with the unofficial dagger coming in a 31-point home loss to a lowly division rival on its fourth starting quarterback. It's a shame that McDermott botched the QB situation for much of this season, particularly when he kept turning to Nathan Peterman, who shouldn't even be in this league. Beyond that bizarre blind spot, McDermott can flat-out coach, especially when it comes to defense. And Buffalo's effort on Sunday was telling. Despite being well under .500 (3-7), these Bills are still competing every Sunday. Now, fix the line and get some receivers in the offseason. Give the raw-but-talented Josh Allen a chance.
  2. It's very real when you're facing other players and I know exactly what you're talking about because your referenced combine drills that take place in shorts. Who cares? I remember last year someone arguing that Jordan Matthews was a deep threat based on his forty time. It's how fast, quick, and explosive on the field in games that matters.
  3. Plenty of players test fast, but don't play fast and sometimes it's just the opposite. What happens on the field in actual competition is all that matters.
  4. Does he look explosive in actual game play? I could not care any less about combine skills in shorts. What happens when the pads are on against the opposition in games that count?
  5. FLEX OFFENSE Zay Jones, Buffalo Bills – 90.9 overall grade Can you say Zay Jones breakout game? Jones caught eight passes for 93 yards and two scores in the win over the Jets, and the crazy thing is his performance would have been even better if not for a fumble on the edge of the end zone, which the Bills eventually recovered for a touchdown. Jones struggled with drops as a rookie, dropping five of 34 catchable passes, but so far in 2018, he has yet to drop any of the 37 catchable targets thrown his way.
  6. It has nothing to do with expectations, but everything to do with giving him valuable game experience reps to speed up his development. Barkley has proven himself to be a journeyman so this isn't even a legitmate argument and the team didn't waste anytime pondering the question of Allen vs. Barkley. It's over.
  7. There is no particular day to make a roster move. NOVEMBER 11/10 Signed WR Robert Foster from the practice squad and released LB Ramon Humber. 11/07 Signed WR Cam Phillips and CB Xavier Coleman to the practice squad. Released WR Hunter Sharp from the practice squad. 11/06 Signed CB Levi Wallace from the practice squad and released CB Phillip Gaines. 11/05 Claimed WR Isaiah McKenzie off waivers from Denver and released WR Cam Phillips.
  8. It's only nonsense to those who don't understand what it means.
