Bills Release QB Nathan Peterman Chris Brown The Bills went ahead a made a decision at quarterback that had to be made. Buffalo released QB Nathan Peterman on Monday. Buffalo had four quarterbacks on the roster after injuries forced them to sign Derek Anderson and then Matt Barkley in the span of a month. On the heels of an inspiring performance by Barkley in the 41-10 win over the Jets on Sunday, head coach Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane made the decision to move on from Peterman, their former fifth round draft pick in 2017. He won the three-man competition for the starting QB job coming out of a preseason where he was remarkably efficient completing more than 80 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and an interception. Unfortunately he could never carry that level of play into the regular season. Peterman appeared and eight games in his time with the Bills making four starts. He completed just over 52 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and 12 interceptions with a passer rating of 32.5.

A change of scenery would be best for him.

Not the new and improved Foster who can actually track a deep ball and catch it. -
How many times can you be wrong before quieting down?

Mike Rodak McDermott: Allen Will Start After Bye If Healthy It appears as if journeyman quarterback Matt Barkley's successful debut as the Buffalo Bills starter will be limited to one outing. "Josh is our starter when healthy, and his development is important for him and for us as we move forward, getting experience," McDermott said. "You've seen a lot of quarterbacks this season play, and it's important that he gets as many reps as he can get in live game action." Allen is 2/3 as a starter, and has missed four games since spraining his right throwing elbow. The first-round draft pick began testing his arm on Nov. 2, and spent all of last week practicing on a limited basis. He wasn't ruled out from playing against the Jets until Saturday.

Matt Barkley (asking for a friend)

The element of speed was added to the lineup with Foster and McKenzie that the Jets had to respect after the opening play. That also opened up running lanes for <cCoy and Murphy. -
From McDermott's WGR Interview: McDermott on Allen being ruled out vs. NYJ - I would say he was close. The signs started to present themselves that he wouldn't be able to go. McDermott on Allen's injury - No setbacks. Just a natural progression of a player coming back from injury and we knew we had the bye coming up. McDermott - I was around a situation in Philly years ago where AJ Feely came in and won some games for us, but when the starter was back, the starter played. McDermott - Josh is our starter. He'll remain our starter, when healthy. Although I thought Matt did a great job, Josh is the starter. McDermott - When you look at young QBs, you have to take it with a grain of salt. There will be bumps in the road. It's all about Josh's development and experience. McDermott on Allen's last performance vs. Houston - Thought he was playing his best game of the year, made his best throw of the season on the play he was injured. McDermott on having 4 QBs - There's not a whole lot of teams that carry four. Have to try and re-balance the board here as things settle down.

How about Matt Barkley huh?

Because that's like kicking a FG on 4th and 1 instead of going for it from the opponents 10 yard line. -

11-12: Kyle Williams on WGR (13:11) Williams - As a whole my job is to make sure we're staying focused and supporting whoever is playing QB. Williams on Barkley - For him to understand defenses and reads, it's a credit to Matt. The way he came in, worked, learned, came into the game and executed. Williams - Two big plays, bang bang, it's a touchdown. That energy runs its way through the football team. Williams - To see what happened yesterday, turnovers, scoring quick, going for it on 4th, that's infectious. Williams - I've watched a little Jacksonville film already. We have a late bye. Really going to try and get away from it. Let the body and the mind rest. 11-12: Sean McDermott on WGR (13:12) McDermott on Allen being ruled out vs. NYK - I would say he was close. McDermott on having 4 QBs - There's not a whole lot of teams that carry four. Have to try and re-balance the board here as things settle down. McDermott - Thought there was a need to increase our team speed on offense. You saw that with Foster and Isaiah McKenzie. That opened things up. McDermott on Wyatt Teller - Wanted to know a little more about one of our young players. He handled himself well, but wasn't perfect. McDermott - This late of a bye is a little unusual and unique. It's been a grind, will be good to get a little rest.
