The Chargers may not be a punchline at this point in time, but even in 2002, the perception was different. Nobody was talking about how great and stable the Chargers were when the team was throwing big money at second rate talent like Tim Dwight, Wiley, and Alexander (IIRC). Trying not to be disrespectful, the best thing to happen to the Chargers this decade was the death of Butler.

I read the whole article 3 times. I am still not sure what Nick was getting at with that comment. If the comment was a diss against Gailey, he needs to recheck the Chargers coaching staff. For the sake of Charger fans, I hope Nick doesn't think Norv Turner is some great catch.

I made this call awhile ago. Al Davis and Mike Leach are a perfect "fit", and deserve each other. I would look forward to seeing the "show" those two put on. Plus it would be funny as hell to see the Raiders adopt a new fight song.

And Leach got into a power struggle with the "entitled little prick" and lost. If Leach was half the "person" his defenders keep trying to make him out to be, TT does NOT cut him loose. And in case you haven't heard, Texas Tech recently hired Tommy Tuberville to be their new head coach. If Tubby comes close to matching Leach's success, in a couple of years, Red Raider fans will care less about Leach.

Can you twist statements and side step the issue any better? SF Bills fan did NOT call Leach a "tryant". He said Leach uses "humiliation" techinques ... ... which you prove Leach does by the above link. Good job proving SF Bills fan right. Nice job. The Dallas News story is about Leach's inability to adjust his techniques to conform to newer attitudes regarding discipline and motivation. Actually, it is pretty safe to assume he will use the same motivational techniques at the NFL level. He's egotistical and arrogant, and his "ways" have been successful. He continued using the same techniques even though attitudes shifted regarding those techniques. Instead of realizing he may have stepped over the line, he lashed out.

First, IIRC, Sal reported there was a succession plan already in place, not that the ownership of the Bills was solid. Second, Ralph has stated the team will be sold when he dies. That's not a rumor, Ralph has stated that in public and during interviews.

Even if there was NOT an interview/offer, it would still be a benefit for Harbaugh's agent to "leak" the alleged offer to Casserly for exactly the same reasons you cited. It would also benefit Harbaugh and his agent for Stanford to "know" about such "offer". Having everybody know you are in "demand" helps with any contract negotiations or re-negotiations. Don't believe any third party sources. Could the source be right? Yes. Could the source be wrong? Yes. And there in lies the problem. We don't know one way or the other. The only thing we can expect as things drag on is the rumor mill to really start cranking out BS.
