  1. Once again, people are trying to compare TO's "diva" problem to VYs "mental" problem. TO's issue was ego driven. For the majority of players, if their ego gets bashed enough, they get the hint: "You are no longer the man. Shut your trap and do what you are told". Ego driven people can actually thrive under pressure. VY's issue is different. Once the pressure and stress started building, he snapped. Yes, having a hissy fit and throwing your pads into the stands sounds like a "diva" gone wild, but prior to that, Young suffered from severe depression and, was rumored to be suicidal at one point. And that's just the stuff that got out. Chan may able to do a lot of things, but being a psychologist is not one of them.
  2. The comparison to TO is not even close. TO's problem was "ego". Young's problem is "mental", literally. Everybody remembers Young's hissy fit and tantrum where he threw his pads in the stands, but people forgot what happened before that. That's not immature behavior, that's something deeper.
  3. Why do people automatically assume Gailey can "fix" Young? Gailey has shown he can deal limited physical talent, not limited mental talent. In short, you can't "fix stupid".
  4. How fast can we ride his azz out of town? /sarcasm But in reality, hate this move. Just when I thought the Bills were done dealing with headcases ...
  5. In a hypothetical world, and assuming DeCastro was rated higher than Luck, than yes. In the real world, Luck is rated higher, so Luck will taken before DeCastro You need to clarify what you mean by "top-6" QB. Top-6 of what?
  6. Plays? Who practice plays? Celebrations. That's the difference maker. My link
  7. And you can provide some sort of proof for this? Actually, draft history in of itself says no such thing. Your interpretation may say that, but draft history, like any other stat, is just a record of what was done. There is nothing in the draft history that says why. In order to understand why, you would need to look at each pick, attempt to understand the rationale of why the pick happened. A logical reason more QB's have been picked in the top 5 than non-pass rushing LBs may have more to do with the fact finding a competent NFL QB is far harder than finding a competent non-passing LB.
  8. See my response to Wayne. But to elaborate further: If a team thinks a punter will be a HOF but none of the other players will be, than the best move for that team would be to take the punter in the first round, especially if they really have a need for a punter. This is why you are contradicting yourself. You have applied a value to a punter and determined said value does not warrant being picked in the first round, period. This is no different than the scouts saying you should pick QBs in the first, Lineman in the second, etc ...., and punters/kickers in the 7th. You thought process may not be as rigid as that example, but the concept is the same.
  9. Absolutely and exactly. Bob even used an example in his reply. "You believe Tom Brady might be a HoF player, but you know noone else will take him before New England in round 6:" Thus the concept of draft value is lousy. You do not know how each team values a particular player at a given time during a draft.
  10. Draft value is a lousy concept. A pro bowl player is a pro bowl player regardless of where they were drafted. Do you think 49er fans really give a crap in what round Montana was drafted? Ummm .... "... describing the round in which a player should be taken. That's the wrong starting point,..." "Getting a Pro Bowl punter in the 7th round is good draft value. Getting a Pro Bowl punter in the top ten picks of the draft is not." Either I missed the sarcasm, or you just contradicted yourself.
  11. IIRC, Stevie also mentioned he informs the opposing DB's before the game starts he will be blocking low, and to keep their head on a swivel.
  12. 67 And talk about stupid quizzes: Just in case you haven't figured it out yet
  13. Especially the bag-in-a-box stuff when eating microwave popcorn. Dee-lish.
  14. He has? Me thinks somebody did not pay attention this past season. Here's a sample when Chan has to deal with a patchwork line: (FYI: These are the first 3 plays of the Bills first possession vs Dallas) Buffalo Bills at 12:12 1-10-BUF 20 (12:12) R.Fitzpatrick sacked at BUF 10 for -10 yards (D.Ware). 2-20-BUF 10 (11:37) (Shotgun) R.Fitzpatrick pass short middle to D.Jones to BUF 16 for 6 yards (A.Elam). Pass complete on a slant. 3-14-BUF 16 (10:57) (Shotgun) R.Fitzpatrick pass incomplete short right [F.Walker]. Pass was thrown short after heavy pressure on a corner blitz. 4-14-BUF 16 (10:52) (Punt formation) B.Moorman punts 52 yards to DAL 32, Center-G.Sanborn. A.Owusu-Ansah to DAL 32 for no gain (R.Martin). There's a candidate for understatement of the off season. And the second part of sentence is the reason the problems on the Oline never get fully addressed. As soon as the Oline shows signs of progressing, they automatically think the entire line will automatically get better. You only spend developmental picks on positions that are set, not on positions of need. The Bills Oline is not set. Even Nix said we needed tackles.
  15. My apologies for responding so late... 24, married w/ children. Wife and kids will not be going with him. They will be staying here. Fishing, hiking, walking, etc ... Not a big drinker. Looking for ideas as time killers, as he does not how much down time he will have. As for days off, he plans on flying back here to spend time with the wife and kids, then fly back up to go work. (He will be working for an airline = discount tickets prices) He will be working the night shift, 4 days a week. Public trans and a pedal bike (at least for now, to see how it goes). No vehicle. Housing: Studio/Eff, one bedroom Apt. "Someplace where I do not have to worry about getting stabbed or shot." His intent is to work in Cleveland until he can get transferred either to Atlanta or Chattanooga. How long that will take is anybody's guess. No roommates. He made that absolutely clear. He doesn't want to have to worry about any potential BS. We discussed renting a room for a short while, but he wasn't interested in that either. I wish he would take his time. IMHO, he's pushing it. He wants everything settled by the time he starts work (which could be as early as mid April). Nope. My role is advice and support.
  16. I come to my fellow Bills fans looking for help. My son has accepted a job in Cleveland, OH, and is now looking for a place to live. He will be working at the airport, and will need access to public transportation. I would appreciate any ideas on where to look for apartments and possible things to do.
  17. Your hatred has made you blind. But since you need help, think along the lines of passive aggressive. Feel free to post a link showing where the trial judge agreed with the charge.
  18. The same Giant fan that didn't file assualt charges until a month after the incident, and only because the video went viral? The same Giant fan that dropped the charges? My link There are numrous reasons to hate the Jets, but Fireman Ed shoving a drunken Giant fan that provoked the incident in the first place isn't one of them.
  19. Potential distraction to the team. And I am with the others: NO. Put the Jets back on. Either Tebow will pull the team together, or Tebow-mania will pull it apart at the seams. Early money is on the latter.
  20. Thank you. Glad to see somebody has been paying attention. FWIW, the driver of the vehicle admitted to buying the dope.
  21. I would assume so. The Bills just did a uni change (for the better), and I cannot see management willing to change again just for the sake of change. And quite frankly, I am afraid of any "Nike style" change to the uni. As it is, they need to ship those clown suits called college "combat" unis back to the circus where they stole them from.
  22. It will be interesting to watch Boise St the next couple of years. Peterson did a nice job with the kids that he had, but the last 2 years, the he was dealing with a veteran heavy team. Last year, they had 22 seniors, 18 of them were 5th year guys. The Broncos are going to have a down year next year, but if they bounce back the following year, Peterson's coaching stock will skyrocket. Been saying it for awhile now. Takes 2 to tango with regards to scheduling. What you see may not be what you think it is.
