Breaking: More Trouble for Manziel - Alcohol Involved
Cynical replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His parents, especially his Dad, are part of the problem. Yep. When Johnny was still at aTm, JM went into a rage, and destroyed a set of golf clubs over a parking ticket he got while playing a round of golf. Daddy's response? They (the police I assume) are harassing him (JM). They know who's car that is. -
Sarkesian put on leave of absence by USC; now fired
Cynical replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/south-carolina-football/steve-spurrier-said-tuesdays-retirement-press-conference/ “First of all, I’m resigning. I’m not retiring. Get that part straight. I doubt if I’ll never be a head coach again, maybe I’ll coach a high school team or something. So don’t say I’ve retired completely from coaching, who knows what will come in the future" Sounds like he has had enough, at least on this level. -
Wow, just wow. http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/arkansas-football/video-bret-bielema-flops-sideline-vs-alabama-personal-foul-called-tide-ol-result/ This is the type of move that just reeks of desperation. I am beginning to believe Bert's days are numbered in Fayetteville.

Addiction can be a B word. I hope he can admit he has a problem, and can get the help he needs.. As for Haden, USC needs to throw his ass to the curb. Apparently Haden knew of Sarkesian's problem, and hired him anyway. On a lighter note: Edsall is out at Maryland Looks like Strong survived another week at Texas Richt was not a happy man at his post game presser, and walked out Malzahn spent the weekend thanking God Auburn was on a bye week -
Titans trolling the Bills? Team tweeting about MCM.

Since we are going to relive the past, somebody needs to remind them of the greatest comeback in NFL playoff history. They remember, right? -
Toronto an option for Kroenke if can't get Rams to L.A.
Cynical replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the first thing that came to my mind as well. I doubt the Bills will give up that claim willing or easily. Throw in the fact the Canadian govt will not help with subsidies as another poster pointed out, the possibility of Toronto getting a franchise is a major long shot for the foreseeable future. -
I am with you on this. I started reading a couple of threads, and finally had to close the browser. The Bills won decisively and convincingly against a good opponent. Yet, here were these threads bitchng and whining about something. Just enjoy the damn victory for once. It feels great. Trust me.

Bruno Mars offered Super Bowl halftime show
Cynical replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. The SB has become a joke. It used to be about the game and the teams/players that are playing in it. Now, it's about who's playing the half time show, and the frigging commercials. Its almost like the game itself is now playing second fiddle to the events surrounding it. -
The wife and I already watched it. I will only say 2 things: 1. After the second episode, we could not stop watching. 2. Glad to hear it was renewed for season 2.

The Pursuit of Nick Saban: Alabama vs. Texas
Cynical replied to Willyville Guy's topic in College Football
"I can’t support it by reportable facts, and of course there is no pressure from the administration; ..." So, based on unverified rumors and 100% speculation, Saban is gone after 2015. Got it. I have been hearing about Saban leaving Bama from the day he first signed on. "He never stayed at one place for more than 5 years. He is good as gone." The rhetoric has increased the past 3-4 years. He is now entering his 9th season as HC of the Crimson Tide. Someday, SOMEDAY, these people will be right. He will be 64 when the season ends. I'm sure the lure of retirement is getting stronger. Yes, the end of the 2015 season could be it. If it is, Thank You, Nick Saban. The ride has been glorious, 3 NC in 4 years. The 2nd one vs. LSU was a !@#$ing masterpiece. That defensive performance will go down as one of the most dominant in the history of college football. -
what's the longest you ever walked?
Cynical replied to outsidethebox's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Drunk or sober? Distance or time? When I was in HS, there was some woods behind my house. People threw parties back in there all the time, including my friends and I. Sober, I could make that trek in about a half hour. Making that trip back after the party, drunk, about an hour. -

NFL should change the two feet in bounds rule to one.
Cynical replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with this. IMO, we need to stop trying to make the NFL like college football. -
Patriots no longer the NFL's made team?
Cynical replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Just give it to them", was pre-Brady/BB. It was also during the 98 season, when there was no replay system, and officiating across the board was horrible. It was the year of the Testeverde "Helmet" touchdown http://www.sikids.com/photos/48406/most-controversial-endings-in-sports/17 And last year, there were numerous controversial calls. Were the Pats** involved in all of them? Of course not. So how do those calls (or non-calls) favor the Pats**? -
Free Windows 10 Upgrade Beginning 7/29: Who's in?
Cynical replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
FWIW, she took a quick look at it, and went back to using Chrome. She won't change unless she has to, or if there is a significant difference is functionality and/or usability. I haven't made the switch yet (Letting the wife and her laptop be the guinea pig ). -
Free Windows 10 Upgrade Beginning 7/29: Who's in?
Cynical replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
As it was previously mentioned earlier in the thread, the home edition is the only one you will not be able to turn off the updates. The other editions you will be able to. My wife did the upgrade to Win10 today. It made no changes to the default programs. Chrome is still her default browser, and Thunderbird is still her default email client. So far, nothing has broken. -
The Pursuit of Nick Saban: Alabama vs. Texas
Cynical replied to Willyville Guy's topic in College Football
I never had a doubt he was staying. I also think Saban leaving was nowhere close to happening as this story seems to imply. IMO, the article muddies the timeline, and the reporter left out details either through laziness, ignorance, or flat out bias. -
There's your problem. Nope, the whole "sassy language" thing. My position was clear. I clearly asked for clarification. First line, right above my ridiculous example. I have never stated or accused anybody of absolving Johnson of his actions. If you think I did, please show me. I absolutely agree with you that Johnson acted out of anger, and IMO, that anger was caused by the insult (or whatever she said to him). To clarify, IMO, the insult was the biggest factor that set him off. He's not reacting because she "barreled" into the guy on her right. He's not reacting because she moved to her left to "ensure contact". Interpretations like that are noise, and are nothing more than attempts to portray the girl as overly aggressive and trying to cause trouble. They have been drinking. There was some bumping and jostling. She said something pretty !@#$ing stupid. He reacted poorly. End of story.
-
Have you read all of his posts? IMO, he's quite clear in his position. Here some snippets: Don't know if people watched the same video that I saw, but to me it was clear that she was the instigator. (I think his position is pretty clear) She then takes another step to the left ensuring more intentional contact with him, (more intentional contact, implying she's doing it on purpose) But let's not pretend that he wasn't provoked not just by some sassy language. (Yes, cause words themselves have never set off a bar fight) She barrels into the guy on her right at the bar (1. He calls that a "barrel". Please, she touches him, even unintentionally bumps the guy, but "barrel"? 2. So what. What does that have to do with her confrontation with the QB who was behind her and on her left? Unless he's trying to prove and reinforce the woman's aggressive and instigating behavior) she's certainly keen on making sure he's aware that she's there (She says something to the QB after being bumped by him, so yeah, she's purposely being confrontational and aggressive) but let's not give blondie a pass for creating the situation. (Again, I think he is stating his position pretty clearly) Yes, he admits Johnson lost control, but apparently, that was caused by her physical instigating behavior, and not because he was a drunken idiot who reacted poorly to being insulted. So if I am not comprehending something, consider me a sponge. Learn me.
