Some of us don't have to wait to realize. I know now just how special this is. Saban will go down as one of the best, if not the best, college football coach. Ever. Saban is in a class all his own when compared to other coaches. And that's kind of a problem. Saban warps peoples perception what a "great" head coach is. Les Miles at LSU went 114-34 (62-28 conference), 2 NC appearances with 1 win (probably would have won the second one if it wasn't for the aberration in Tuscaloosa), and was fired. That's insane when you consider there was no scandal or NCAA investigation attached to that firing. How many programs out there would have given their left nut for that kind of record? Hell, I would have been thrilled with that kind of record post Shula. But Miles was fired, partly because he struggled to get past that "freak" in Tuscaloosa. Enjoy the ride now, while it's still going. Because I pity the poor bastard who comes after Saban, just like I pitied the bastard that came after Bear Bryant.

Sammy Watkins classes it up on his way out of LA

And for the Sammy cult, the seed has been planted for the excuse "reason" if Watkins 2018 production is mediocre once a gain. #SammyWatkinsDecoyOfTheYear2018 -

It's a joke. Somebody called it years ago. https://coed.com/2012/03/28/wtf-all-holes-filled-commercial/ -
Call me Cynical, but I think there's more crazy about her than just her eyes.

Where do you stay? I heard the hotel availability and pricing is nuts in Tuscaloosa and up I-20 towards Birmingham during home games.

You probably said it wrong. You were in Canada. Up there, it's not "Roll Tide", it's "Roll Tide, eh."
-
Throwing this out there: Drive to Canada and hook up with CBF? And don't give me this "It's too far." It's the Alabama Crimson Tide we are talking about. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

There will be a lot of crow handed out to media...
Cynical replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mea culpa for what? Prior to last year, how many times was the media right about the Bills being bad? Yet, just like now, there were Bills fans getting their panties in knot because some person in the media predicted the Bills were going to do poorly. How many of those fans came back with their mea culpas? ZERO. -
How about albums and CD's? AC/DC - Back In Black Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction I love/like every song on those albums. I also love me some Motorhead;

Chad Kelly in contention to be Broncos backup
Cynical replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mr. Irrevelant now feels he can compete for the backup QB spot, and based on that, you have him becoming a franchise QB by next year?? I am beyond thrilled we did not. -
Ah, yes. One of my favorites:

And people wonder why recruits choose to go play for Bama ... https://247sports.com/college/alabama/Article/Alabama-football-lapping-the-field-at-turning-5-stars-into-first-round-picks-117872125 IIRC, OSU still holds the NCAA record with 14 players drafted. 12 was the highest by one school this year, and the highest in Bama history. If Tua continues to develop and plays up to his potential, complimented by a Saban D, the SEC will be a Crimson blood bath this year.

Jags' owner buying Wembley Stadium
Cynical replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still a faulty comparison. The Toronto series was a failure. It was cancelled. In case you haven't noticed, the Bills no longer play any games there. There are ZERO NFL games being played there. I have no doubt if the series was successful, the Bills would have shifted to playing more home games there. In regards to London, the series has been successful for the NFL. For the Jaguars, the series has been so successful, the owner bought a stadium to "protect the Jaguars' position in London". Khan 's comments indicate nothing, other than he is staking a bigger claim in London. As I said before, he could move the team to London, play 7 home games there, and play 1 home game in Jacksonville. 1 home game a year is still a "stable and promising" future when compared to no games in Jacksonville. -
maybe it really was 'rosen'. Kind of like woke/awake.

Jags' owner buying Wembley Stadium
Cynical replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Faulty comparison. Bills did horrible in Toronto, and that series was not well received. That series was cancelled. Interesting statement and a more interesting comment. He's essentially admitting he has squeezed out as much revenue as he can out of the Jacksonville market, and that he needs another market (London) to support it. There is nothing in his statement that prevents him from eventually moving the team to London and playing 1 international series game in Jacksonville. His comments would still be true. -

An even better question, what do the Glazers, and how they run their business, have to do with Khan and how he runs his? The Buccaneers have not played a game in London in 6-7 years? Meanwhile, the Jaguars are scheduled to play a game in London for a consecutive 6th time in 2018. -
Quick. Somebody needs to post that link to https://scout.com/college/auburn/Board/Football-Forum-102332 Do it as a "concerned citizen" afraid for the future of college football. I want to see what happens. For science.

Rob Johnson is still bitter after 20 years
Cynical replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember when you said this? "Ya lol he did was win everywhere he went ..." Doug Flutie went to San Diego. He didn't win. What he did in the CFL, and whether or not he was the best QB on the Bills since Kelly, are meaningless, if you are trying to make the case he was a "good" NFL QB. -

1. I never said RJ was better than DF. I just find it laughable when people think DF was a "good" QB. 2. There are many "ridiculous" arguments in this thread. The worst? "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda". "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda" arguments rely on the belief if a play, or a series of plays, were changed to a desired outcome, everything else about the game would stay the same. That's a ridiculous assumption to make. But you wanted to play it, so I played. My "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda" is just as ridiculous as yours.
