  1. Of course, claiming Ellison is a "starter" is a stretch to begin with. If it was not for Crowell's surgery/non-surgery, and subsequent placement on IR, Ellison is riding the bench this year. At this point, I think it's obvious Ellison is on the short list to be replaced this upcoming off-season.
  2. Tell that to a customer standing in front of you complaining your company failed to honor it's service contract or sold him a faulty product. Do you think he really cares which employees fault it was?
  3. Temper, temper, Ramius. The FSU "Return to Glory" is not happening fast enough for you? You're clueless if you think Saban will leave Bama for Auburn. Auburn cannot match the recruiting clout Alabama brings to the table. Besides, the financial aspects alone pretty much rule that option out. There are a lot of other coaches they could get for cheaper. Tuberville has a $6m buyout clause. If Auburn does part ways with Tubby, and becomes seriously interested in Fisher, I doubt another $2.5m will get in their way. Look on the bright side, if that does happen, Tuberville will be available.
  4. And FSU better hurry. A bigger portion of the Auburn world is getting pissed off with Tuberville. Apparently, questions regarding job security have been asked during interviews. Some of the replacement names being tossed about in the delusional minds of Auburn fans: Butch Davis Brian Kelly Dennis Francione (sp) Bill Cowher Lane Kiffin Nick Saban Bobby Petrino Jimbo Fisher
  5. The Mizzou Kool-Aid, heavily sweetened with UB, Nevada, and Nebraska. Both Gordio and I tried to warn him, but he did not want to listen.
  6. The potential of having Bama in the SEC CG is a nice thought. However, I would rather not think that far ahead. Bama still has to play Ole Miss, Miss St, Tenn, LSU, and Auburn. Ole Miss and Miss St are not great teams, but are being coached by Nutt and Croom. While those two screw balls can make some of the stupidest football decisions known to mankind, both can motivate their teams and spoil the plans of their better opponents (see Ole Miss vs Florida, and Miss St vs Vandy) LSU got buried by Florida, but is still only 1 game behind the SEC West leader Alabama. If LSU were to run the table from here out, LSU makes the CG. And do not think that is impossible. 4 of their last 6 are at home, and that includes the game vs. Bama. While I like Bama's chances vs. Tenn and Auburn, both schools are Alabama's biggest rivals. Anything can happen.
  7. Maybe. But then again I'm not saying Penn St is going to stroll into Columbus and drop 50+ points on the Buckeyes. Penn St is playing good ball, and IMO, when the dust settles in the Shoe, Penn St will walk out with the "W". As for the score of the game, who scores what, and whether or not the spread is covered, that's for y'all to figure out.
  8. IIRC, at the Shoe in Columbus. Too bad for the Buckeyes, it will not matter.
  9. I am a Bama fan. I am not allowed to be objective? My opinion is not intended to be an insult to Bama, but it is more of an observation of the characteristics of the polls. How many times have we seen teams that were idle get leap frogged in the rankings? I am not saying Penn St SHOULD be #2, but based on the present evidence (Bama idle, Penn St. 7-0, wins big in Madison) I would have not been surprised if they were. Now, as for me personally wanting Bama to be #3, that is more of a strategic thought. Bama still has 6 games left, and they are a young team. My biggest fear is some of the freshman get caught up in the hype, and allow it to inflate their ego. That would make them ripe for the picking for a team like Ole Miss or Miss St. A loss to one of those teams, and Bama could kiss a NC goodbye.
  10. Why not? Bama sat out this week, and that has a tendency to work against the team on how it's ranked. Penn State is now 7-0, and they got the last one by walking into Madison, WI, and blowing out the Badgers.
  11. Actually, I would not be surprised to see Texas and Penn State ranked above Bama. In fact, I hope both teams end up that way. Still too early in the season to be #1. That just puts a big fat target on the teams back. I agree with you about about BYU. They should definitely be ahead of USC. The biggest joke is/was Auburn. How does a 4-2 team who beat teams like Miss. St and Tenn with scores like 3-2 and 14-13 even deserve to be in the top 25? Over teams like NC, Mich St, and even Wake Forest? I suppose with this newest loss to Arky, Auburn will drop to 25.
  12. Great! I hope the Mizzou players and coaches feel the exact same way. Then when the Tigers get their jaw jacked by a real smash mouth team (and it doesn't even have to be Bama), it will be fun watching you trying to explain what happened. Have they scored every time they touched the ball? No? That means they can be stopped. It doesn't have to be 3 and out. 5 and out will do. 6 and out will do. Unless that player is a DL or LB, it will not matter. Having Moore tackle a RB 5-6 yards past the LOS is NOT a good thing. Smash mouth teams thrive on getting 5-6 yards a crack. That's their intent. You are right. We do have a difference of opinion, and the argument is somewhat dumb. Mizzou ran the scores up on teams like UB and Nevada. Meanwhile, Bama has played 2 (alleged) top 10 teams, both of the wins took place away from Bryant-Denney Stadium. And you might want to consider those facts before you run your mouth again.
  13. I am not saying Bama would shut down Mizzou, but I seriously doubt Mizzou will hang 40+ points on Bama. You're to focused on how does anybody stop the Mizzou O. They do not have to stop it. They just need to keep it in check, preventing the shoot out. The question you seem to miss: How does the Mizzou D prevent the Bama O from controlling the game, and dictating the tempo?
  14. Seconds maybe the only thing the Mizzou offense will ever get. The Bama D "ain't" the UB D.
  15. Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah ... I've heard the same thing about Clemson (how will Bama contain Thunder and Lightning - more like Fizzle and Drizzle) I've heard the same thing about Georgia (how will Bama ever deal with Stafford and Knowshon "NoShow" Moreno) Bama is playing old school ball. A punishing running game and strong D. It would be hard to score when the Mizzou offense is standing on the sidelines watching the Bama offensive line grind that Mizzou defense into the turf.
  16. I haven't watched any Dolphins game this year, but that sounds pretty similar to Houston Nutt's WildReb (f/k/a WildHog when he was at Arky) offense. I may have to watch the next Dolphin game to see. Maybe they will bring back the Wishbone and the Veer.
  17. Fixed it. And I agree with your post. The Bills need to win the division to guarantee a playoff spot. It does not matter if they do it as 10-6 team or a 14-2 team. If they do lose to the Chargers (and I am not so sure they will), it will be just another game to learn from, and move forward.
  18. And here I thought it was the drugs that did that.
  19. Beautiful, isn't it? Auburn nation is now in meltdown mode.
  20. Linky Keep dreaming Tubby. As the story points out, you are also only two plays away from being 2-3. Your "War Chicken" offense is laughable as evident by your "blow out" wins over Miss. St. and Tennessee. But even you finally figured that out: Dead Spread
  21. Why does everybody think he would be sedate? I remember Levy having a similar demeanor, but when he was miked up, he had no problem throwing out the obscenities. I distinctly remember one where he kept telling the ref a particular call was a "chickensh!t" call.
  22. The Bills only decide a portion of their opponents record (In this case, one third. And to point out the obvious, by the end of the year, it will be 1/16th). So, remove the Bills influence all together. What's left? Seahawks, Jags, and Raiders are all 1-1, for a combined 3-3 (.500). Not exactly a gauntlet of a schedule. It is only week 3, and nothing is written in stone until the end of the year. However, based on what we have seen so far, the Bills have faced some mediocre opponents. Of the 3 teams the Bills faced so far, I think Jacksonville will be the only team that will have a shot at the playoffs.
  23. If the 2008 Bills had lost all three games to their 2008 counterparts, the opponents record combined would be 6-3, and half this board would be under suicide watch.
