Reid was always seen as a QB whisperer. As an offensive coach he found ways to get the most out of his QBs and offenses. After decades of finding ways he finally got a top QB to work with. McDermott is supposed to be a defensive coach but his defenses always come up short when it matters and he has his own 1st and 2nd round picks all over the place. Reid will also retire top 3 (at worst) in NFL history in head coaching wins. No comparison at all. If we lost 13-10 or something like that with our defense playing amazing but the offense not quite being able to do enough then it would be harder to criticize McDermott.

I saw Bernard and was like he did pretty well for late round CB .. Lol... Totally forgot Bernard was in the team. Get him mixed up with Benford

His OC is clueless. He needs someone to help him out sometimes. Move the chains, take the easy stuff, set up for the big play.

Josh needs a coach who can help him calm down and take a profit on offense. Keep those chains moving. Designing an actual running game would be a huge plus.

If you're totally honest... Would Jauron do less with Allen? We all loved him for 5 minutes, remember? He got a big extension based on going 7-9 every year with zero QB. How about Rex with Allen? Even Chan, who I couldn't stand. Chan with Allen? Look what he got out of Fitz. McDermott is a .500 type HC who has an elite talent at QB

Gotta waste a couple more years first, and even then if it's in the playoffs he isn't going anywhere. Remember 17 years? That'll always be the answer. We got lucky to hit on Allen. That's about it.

This is something that needs attention. Our rookies cannot get a jersey on game day at positions of serious need. Cook was a non factor almost all season. Elam barely dressed. His never ending 1st and 2nd round DL are invisible.

It was mentioned a couple times.. Bengals looked bigger. This team told Epenesa to slim down. Told Rousseau to slim down. Prioritize small DTs We need some big sloppy guys on the lines. Enough with small invisible lineman.

Beane hit on the QB. But outside of that the high draft picks have been bad. Tons of defensive players who are invisible. QB is the tough one now he's got to hit on some high picks.

This is just my impression. IMO Allen is getting a bit too into his own press clippings. Remember "if I don't love it we don't run it?" Difference is that was under Daboll, who has a handful of SB rings and a national championship ring. At the end of the day Daboll figured out how to have this offense clicking last postseason. Now we're deferring to Allen picking the OC he wants because they are so similar. Both are go go go run through a wall types and it accentuates Allen's worst tendencies. They need an OC who will help Allen maximize his talent.

49ers have a 3rd string rookie who is Mr irrelevant. Oh but it's the system. That's called coaching.
