  1. Fair point! They both look pretty darn legit though. I'm not sure how good Carr really is either...
  2. It's not a pick, but Beane getting a draft pick for Lee Smith, who was supposedly retired, was pure larceny. That was a great move. He basically just reached into Atlanta's pocket and stole $5.
  3. Jets had the OROY and the DROY this year. They absolutely crushed last year's draft. That's not even counting Hall, who was amazing prior to the injury. Tons of young talent on that roster. Their goofy, BYU headband wearing, soccer mom chasing "bro" of a QB is what held them back.
  4. There won't be firings. McDermott is here for Allen's entire career. I hope that he is able to grow as a HC or we'll be the Chargers with Rivers.
  5. I love the passion Diggs shows, and IMO, him yelling at Allen on the sidelines isn't "humiliating" to anyone. At least someone was awake for that game. That was a total WTF performance from the entire team, including the coaching staff. They got CURB STOMPED at home by the same Bengals team that should have lost to the Ravens with Huntley at QB AND who had lost 2 starting OL before coming here. They did whatever they wanted and the Bills had ZERO answers. The game wasn't even as close as 17 points suggested. Diggs is a freaking DAWG! Now let's sign a few OL with that same attitude and ability and go light some SOBs up next year!
  6. Not only do I disagree (I'm just some person on a message board). Beane and McDermott apparently disagreed too, because they signed 2 formerly retired WRs during the season to try to fix the deficiency. OL is plain for anyone to see. It was bad.
  7. This just goes to show though. Get the QB right and everything else is a distant second. Josh Allen could be much, much better (and he's already amazing) with a better OL that protects him and allows the offense to become more multiple. Bills won 13 games with a horrible OL, no running game, and 1 WR threat. That's insane!
  8. Imagine Allen with Philly's OL and Cook being able to run into open space. Right now it's Allen runs for his life and chucks the ball deep downfield every other play and have ZERO running attack unless the yards come from Allen trying to escape seemingly unblocked DL and LBers. We still won 13 games.
  9. Allen is elite, which buys him a ton of credit and time. But now it's time for him to hit on some picks. Groot is a good player. Oliver is decent. Bass is good at an important position. But there's not a lot there outside of them. By that I mean guys who are better than (insert NFL rostered player's name here) type players. Beane needs a successful draft where rookies actually contribute to the team in a meaningful way.
  10. This is very, very bad news for anyone who wants a real investment on offense. Edmunds is a pretty good LB, but will he command elite $$? To anyone celebrating him leaving, expect yet another 1st round defense draft pick. Either S, LB, or good old DL. WR after round 4. OL we can do without because Allen can always run for his life, which is an "advantage" for us and part of his skillet apparently.
  11. I was a huge fan of the Rex Ryan hire at the time, but it obviously didn't work here. IMO, it was because he was burned out before he got here and his heart wasn't really into putting in the effort required. He relied on other to teach his defense and there was a ton of miscommunication. There were games when the Bills defense looked great, and IMO it was because he put the work in sporadically. When he did, it showed. Mostly he didn't though, and it showed. IF Rex is focused and wants to work and he gets the job (which I doubt will happen now) then Denver's defense is going to be very, very good.
  12. coach could be fired mid-season= best chance EB has of being a HC, even as an interim
  13. Now it sounds like it's not happening with Vance Joseph interviewing... That's a bummer
  14. I really hope this happens! Rex makes the league more fun and that defense is loaded.
  15. Harsh opinion maybe but Howard is a professional on a station that sounds like a bunch of amateurs. He will be missed greatly. The rest of the well-known guys on WGR are cookie cutter radio characters who exist in every market in some form. Sad but true. Jeremy: the yappy know it all, younger sidekick guy who pokes fun at the real broadcaster because he's older Bulldog: the rough around the edges but likeable enough fan who is on the radio Schopp: the "I know everything" heel character (perfect for pairing with the friendly fan guy in Bulldog) Sal: the team apologist who loves everyone and everything and it's all great all the time, which is... look it... Jeremy was better before, but now he talks over everyone (including Howard) way too much, which is probably where the younger guys on the station learned that from. There is an art to being calm, sounding in control, asking good questions and actually letting other people speak that is lost on so many young broadcasters. These younger guys on WGR all sound like they're barking for attention, talking over everyone and anyone to get their voices on the air. It's unlistenable at times.
  16. All the players talk about coach Reid and his crazy offense... oh yeah and Eric too... It's usually phrases just like that, if Bieniemy is mentioned at all. Of course, Reid being the good guy he is will try to give more credit than is due, and he legitimately wants to see EB succeed. But everyone knows it's Andy Reid's offense, the same way it's Belichick's defense. It's probably best for EB's career advancement to go somewhere else and lead a successful offense with a defensive HC.
  17. IMO McDermott should take more ownership of the defense and call the plays. There's no reason he can't follow a similar career arc and finally win a SB here. But he's going to need to take the reigns of the D. Andy Reid runs that offense, and everyone knows it.
  18. IMO there is a lot of bad QB play aside from a handful of stars. That allows defenses to get fat in the regular season but once the playoffs start they face top QBs and it's different.
  19. I guess I'm not as worked up about it but I understand it's not ideal. Just because it's a huge moment doesn't mean you can just see a foul that affects the play and just let it go. That's giving one team an unfair advantage. I am btw no fan of the refs. I just don't think this particular case is some sort of massive injustice.
  20. Rodgers is a great example. He has been amazing for a long time but never even got back.
  21. Eagles DB said he held. Refs saw the hold. Of course the WR says he was held so that doesn't mean much. The man called for the flag knew he held. So it sucks that it was called at that moment but it was a hold. Allowing a hold on that moment also changes the game, possibly taking a TD off the board in a key moment. It is what it is. I get that it sucks but it will barely be a footnote. It's hardly some massive story. Brady's phantom DPI gifts were much worse but in the end nobody cares.
  22. Too many great QBs in the AFC Burrow and Allen are going to each get one, IMO Plus you've got Lamar, who is almost unstoppable when he's on. Herbert, who can win any game. And maybe Aaron Rodgers for a couple years. Brady had to get past Manning or a scrappy but non impressive Ravens or Steelers team. If Mannings team lost it was a cakewalk.
  23. True... Like I said I didn't love it but I'm also not going to say that it decided the game. KC scored on every single drive after halftime.
  24. You can win a lot of ways. A great QB with a great coach and a great scheme can go a long way towards neutralizing a dangerous pass rush. If the Chiefs weren't balanced they would have been eaten alive. Not every team is balanced.
