  1. Belichick is a great coach, but having Brady for 20 years made him seem like he was head and shoulders above everyone else when really he's "just" a great coach. Turns out, he isn't smarter than everyone else in the league after all. If Sean Payton or Andy Reid had Tom Brady for 20 years he would have won 6 rings also. Maybe more, who knows. It was over a 20 year span. Bruce Arians won a SB with Brady at QB. Other coaches would have won a lot of games and a lot of rings too. Now, that's not to say Belichick isn't great, he is. Or that just (insert name here) would have had the same success with Brady. Give a McVay coffee fetcher like Lefleur Brady and he might not even have played in a Super Bowl. Would Dick Jauron have won a ring with Brady? Maybe, if given 2 decades... Still, Belichick's defenses won the first couple of Super Bowls for that dynasty. He deserves a ton of credit, and it wasn't "all Brady." But he could basically do anything he wanted and as long as the game was close Brady and the refs had it handled in those last 2 minutes. It's how it goes in sports. Belichick has the hardware, but is he really the greatest coach of all time? He's the guy who put Matt Patricia in charge of the offense to "help" his young QB after all.
  2. It's better than not having the kickoff at all. Still, with the way it is now the kickoff is almost pointless. Every kick goes into the endzone and gets touched down. As far as the 1, 2, or 3 points after a TD, words cannot express how much I hate that idea. It cheapens the game, IMO.
  3. 90's throwbacks with red helmets would be cool to see, for sure! Generally, I like the throwbacks that teams have, but I would hate to see teams end up having a handful of different uniforms and color schemes that they constantly shuffle between. Tampa's throwbacks are awesome! I have no idea why they ever changed. They were unique. Plus every team doesn't need a black uniform when it's not in their color scheme. The Cardinals and 49ers are the worst offenders in this. It's one thing if the Saints, Ravens, Falcons or Steelers do it, because it's part of the team colors already. When you're the Cardinals and your colors are red and white you don't need to copy Atlanta's uniforms.
  4. I don't think Rodgers is in decline at all. Green Bay kept adding to the defense and relied on rookies for WR last year. Plus I think he just wanted out Lefleur, like McCarthy, are HC because of Rodgers.
  5. Reid is a better coach than Belichick. The difference is one had Brady for 20 years and one had decent but not elite QB talent until recently. Reid still won a lot of games over many years with journeymen at QB. Belichick has done almost nothing without Brady.
  6. I had a dream a few days ago that the Bills/Jets opener ended in a 40-40 tie. As much as a tie would not be good for the division race, that would be a heck of a game to watch!
  7. I actually have a theory. Diggs gets into Buffalo Monday, Listens to early summer WGR on the radio. Becomes ill. So this is him throwing them a bone. Instead of "how do you feel about Eichel winning a Stanley Cup?" it'll be all Diggs all Day.
  8. I hope he doesn't have some injury concern that wasn't addressed after the season because he stormed away. There has to be a better answer for this than "he's mad at Josh Allen or Dorsey." I mean, really?
  9. To be fair, if you're considering those as separate items then maybe both don't make his top 10. But as one item: "caring about the fans and WNY" I think there's a very good chance we make his top 10.
  10. I'll just say that I love Diggs' passion and emotion. If we're being honest, wasn't he saying exactly what a lot of fans were, especially during the playoff loss? I'm not saying it was the most professional way to go about it, and I don't agree with leaving the stadium before the post game meeting and having to be coaxed back in, but I also get it. Again, don't agree, but understand the volcano of emotions, and I was just watching the game (and the last few of the season). The guy wants to win for the fans and this city so badly and sometimes that emotion gets the best of him. Hopefully that can be addressed so that we can get to winning in 2023. I just hope Diggs is OK personally/health wise.
  11. Diggs said in an M&T Bank commercial after the season (the series where he catches and throws footballs to random people in their kitchens and on their sidewalks) that he would see us fans on the other side, which I took to mean he was taking a break and would be back. So I'm not worried. I got word straight from the source.
  12. I was shocked to see him get this extension. But good for him and I hope he plays well enough to justify it.
  13. I misread the title and thought Saffold started a QB school on Twitter.
  14. If he goes anywhere it's back home to Pittsburgh, IMO. That defense would be sick
  15. Nobody who owns and rides horses is dumb, it's just not possible. It's true, Google it. Hopefully Oliver will be motivated by the prospect of a new contract, but I don't see it happening here.
  16. all the people saying how nice WGR is to the Bills must not remember the drought era We had Buddy Nix literally hanging up on Howard Simon mid call live on the air. It was UGLY, but fun to listen to someone say to the team what many fans were thinking and wanted to say at the time. If I recall correctly, Schopp even had some sort of blowup with McDermott early on as well, before we knew this team would actually be good. Back then, it was just WGR going to the playbook of ripping the team 24/7
  17. why would any top WR talent want to go to NE? Easily the worst team in the division, and probably the only one without a QB.
  18. The name is terrible. They should do a full on rebrand when new owners take over.
  19. I'm going to laugh when some day soon you can buy a bundle of all these streaming services in one place, making them like "channels" Bonus points for biannual pissing contents where Amazon or Netflix will threaten to disappear from your lineup due to disagreements with the carrier. In other words, cable without a cable.
  20. it's fascinating watching this shift to streaming... In the early days the streamers were loud and proud about how cheap it was. Now, once you add in all the different services, plus your high speed internet access you need to use these services, you end up basically right back where you were with cable. If only there was a service where you got all of these streaming platforms bundled together, for one price... In other words, what cable was, except through the internet. And just as expensive (or more) and very difficult if you live in a rural area where "high speed internet" connections are trash and getting cable isn't an option at any price. There was a little window where people gamed the system and found a way to get a la carte cable essentially and pay a fraction of the cost, but it was inevitable that the networks and content producers would close that gap, and they have/are. Unless you have a very narrow interest in one type of content, you are going to need multiple streaming services. As far as the NFL goes, turning down over $100M for ONE GAME would be financial malfeasance.
  21. make it a 3 year deal so we can get a steal for a couple seasons if it works out
  22. 6000 yards... well, someone is going to do it. Manning wasn't that far off when he set the single season record, and that's with being taken out of games late in the season for rest and only a 16 game season. The AFC is full of good QBs who will need to find a way into the playoffs. The way 6000 happens is a good QB on a contending team that has to go full-bore all 17 games to get into the playoffs. Normally I would say no way because anyone who has thrown for 5700+ is probably on a team with a great record and would sit week 17. But with the AFC the way it is, it's not crazy to think that someone like Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, or Jackson would need to play all 4 quarters of all 17 games just to make the wild card.
