  1. On the plus side, those of us who take the expressways to work can look forward to a 2 hour commute tomorrow morning!
  2. The roster has been going backwards for a few years now. We're consistently bringing back players that were let go, both on offense (remember the returns of Beasley and Brown?) and of course defense (Hyde as a player/coach or whatever that was, Poyer, White) Reason? Beane has failed to find suitable replacements. Most of his FA signings lately have been awful. Hoecht seemed like a hit but we'll probably never know what might have been. Golly, you could do a lot worse than a coach with 100 wins! Sal and the PR dept will be working overtime this week. Someone will need to take the fall. Given McDermott saying the passing game needs to be better it could be Brady In that case, consider this: the last 2 OCs Josh Allen had would have been fired. If that's not an indictment of roster building or HC philosophy I don't know what is
  3. McDermott and Beane have won a lot of regular season games. That's obviously good, but with a top 2 QB in the league for 8+ seasons not even getting to a Super Bowl is an enormous fail. But sometimes you run into buzzsaws. The real blunder is purposely working to make your offense less about that QB and designing a system to focus on other players. It makes no sense. It's exactly what an opponent would want. Imagine playing Peyton Manning in his prime and the Colts decide to become a run first offense and rely on 3TE sets and horizontal passing
  4. The coaching to take all the spirit out of him plus the lack of offensive weapons makes the game no fun He also knows it isn't likely to change because this is the HCs philosophy
  5. Steelers just don't win these games. Bright lights, prime time, big spots. They're good enough to be there but always come up short. It's why the Ravens at 2-5 were the favorites to win that division. Nobody takes the Steelers seriously.
  6. Both defenses are laying the wood in this one Also Steelers are a couple yards from being up 14-5
  7. I'm rooting for Pittsburgh. For one, the Chargers don't seem like a real NFL team. For two, it puts maximum pressure on the Ravens.
  8. I agree that they were mostly added to help sell whatever the team has planned for Toronto in the near future. The team rep who said they would "probably" play most of their home games in the new stadium for the short term raised many eyebrows.
  9. Josh isn't the type to take that kind of stand He'll play here, be a good soldier and do his best, and probably retire around 36 or 37 to enjoy his family and other business ventures.
  10. The part owners who were all pro athletes might save us. They could be in Pegula's ears about how short an athlete's career is and the need to act before it's beside the point.
  11. Zero chance Beane or McDermott go anywhere. Pegula is petrified because of the Sabres. These guys get Allen's entire career. He'll need to overcome management and coaching to win it all. It could happen. Might as well come to terms with it though, because we win or lose with McBeane.
  12. If the Bills beat NE and then NE loses to either GB or Baltimore we lead the division. So much ball left to be played
  13. It's the only way I could see myself rooting for Lefleur. A NE GB super bowl
  14. I'm ok with this, as honestly it's best realistic case scenario. McDermott is a great leader and a top notch human being and is easy to root for. I'm not saying Beane isn't those things. But imo McDermott is much better at his part than Beane is at his. You should not constantly have to make mid season trades to fix recurring roster problems.
  15. If true that might explain why he was so angry afterwards He seemed legitimately surprised and angry that a trade didn't get done
  16. Beane failed the team. Again. Since McDermott is untouchable I support firing Beane if things don't go well yet again in the playoffs.
  17. The difference is their defenses actually come up big when it matters
  18. McDermott will never, ever, ever be fired as long as Allen is here The PR crew will be working overtime this week. Beane might be the fall guy if it gets really bad, but still. This is the offense (run the ball, everybody eats, low event football) that the defensive HC wants It's why he and Daboll fought so much
  19. I've been done with McDermott for a long time but he will never be let go. Best we can hope for is a new GM but I doubt that either. McDermott is a great guy so he's easy to root for on a personal level but his approach is to avoid his mvp QB on offense
  20. Achane looked like he didn't know whether to go down on the 1
  21. I've seen crazier things in this league We still have a shot
  22. Never going to happen. McDermott and Beane get #17s career.
