  1. A guy like him would have his pick of OC jobs, likely on a top team that just lost its OC to a HC gig. I know it doesn't fit the type A uber competitive world of the NFL, but there's something to be said for being great at your side of the ball, being known by your colleagues for being great at it, being on a good, a winning team with top talent, making tons of money, getting to focus on your specialty to help that team win titles, and letting someone else run the big picture of the program and deal with all that stress. Come in to work with a top 5 QB and good offensive talent and your job is just to make the offense work and score points. HC can handle all the other tasks that are often thankless. It's not a bad world to be in. You'll get plenty of credit, and the job would be a lot more fun than getting hired as the Saints HC or Jags HC, for example, and getting fired in 2-3 years. It must really suck to be on a team with 4 wins right now, no chance of the playoffs, but having to put yourself through the prep and grind to play another 5 games.
  2. Isn't he the guy who wore the "I wish it was colder!" t shirt? The universe loves irony
  3. I think McDermott is definitely good enough to win a Super Bowl. I would absolutely say he's better than Doug Pederson or Mike McCarthy, who both won in the past. I think he's Tomlin with a top QB. Before you laugh, Tomlin with a top QB went to 2 Super Bowls and won 1.
  4. I would tell my QB never slide in a playoff game. Would a dirty player, repeat offender, like this do the math and say "15 yard penalty, but no _______ for the rest of the game, in a tournament where it's loser go home" ? Especially when your coach will apparently back you up... "It was snowy and slippery out there... I couldn't stop!"
  5. they should think a little outside the box... A team in Maine A team in Alaska A team in Hawaii The catch? Same division. Seriously though, this league should explore "secondary cities" where instead of being 1 of like 10 pro teams they would be a major story in town. State College PA would be a cool idea. Football crazy town, no pro teams. Iconic venue.
  6. Apoplectic! Honestly I worry about this type of hit every time Josh slides... The frustration of the moment, adrenaline, embarrassment at this guy picking up 3rd downs when you think you have him, making crazy plays... I could see it being hard to pull up and not wallop the QB when he's been clowning you all game. As the QB you're totally unprotected (physically I mean) when you slide like that.
  7. A totally dirty hit, and I'm also surprised it doesn't happen more often... A QB sliding is a sitting duck for that type of hit. Extremely dangerous, and we've seen it plenty of times before too. You know there are guys who think it's worth trading 15 yards for the other team's backup finishing the game. We all saw Bounty Gate. Not many, maybe almost none. But I bet it isn't zero. The bigger the game the more "reward" for this type of behavior. What if this was a playoff game?
  8. If they win they might take the Bengals place on the "in the hunt" column
  9. Only minus is every big run is a hold
  10. Didn't think this would be fun but what a game! This is why NFL is king
  11. It seems like every QB deep draft has a few good ones and a dud or two I think Maye is the dud of this group
  12. WOW what a throw and catch!
  13. McDermott was doing snow angels with Allen post game LOL
  14. MVP! Putting on a show in the driving snow!
  15. Great punch out to save the TD!
  16. Such a weird game where it feels like every run could go the distance
  17. It might be crazy but if I had a guy like CMC I would basically give him a few carries a game til December 1st or so then let him ramp up for the playoffs Obviously not practical but with 17 games running backs are shot by the time playoffs arrive
  18. Guys can't even get out of their stances so kicking is pretty damn impressive
  19. Man CMC is so good but he always gets hurt, and major injuries too
  20. The most Charger thing ever would be to stop them here then score a TD with like 20 seconds left
  21. Dumb to be running Henry now when game is over imo
  22. Good lord the Chargers are so anti clutch
