  1. Hurt it going out for the pass in Tennessee Knee totally buckled and he went down like a sack of potatoes without being touched Watch the replay of that play
  2. Good call! I've noticed this as well. As crazy as it sounds, force NE to throw the ball and you can beat them. When has that been said lately?! That's why a team like SD or even Baltimore can really hurt them I think. The recipe is to run the ball against their terrible run defense, not turn it over, then score 7's and not 3's in the Red Zone. If you put pressure on them score-wise, then shut down the run, you get this year's Titans game where a team like Tennessee completely dominated them from start to finish.
  3. Interesting take... To me, when someone says "deterioration of physical skills" it means the ability to perform at previous levels on a consistent basis. For example, Michael Jordan scored 43 points as a 40 year old NBA player in a game. He also scored 40+ points 2 other times that same season. However, 40 year old Jordan was nowhere near 30 year old Jordan in terms of the ability to do that night after night. He could still have some huge games, but over the long haul his points per game average dropped from the low 30's to low 20's. That's where Brady is now IMO. He could have a game where he throws for 400 yards and 4-5 TDs. Then he could follow that up with a 220 yard game with 1 TD and 1 INT. That's the difference between now and previous seasons, IMO. In previous years he would be #1 or #2 in TD passes and would torch teams every week. Now, he is just another good NFL QB. Still dangerous, still capable of hurting you, but sports are a young man's game in the end. His preparation, knowledge, and competitive fire keep him able to be a top 5-10 QB this year. But he's not top 5 this season in terms of play, and this only goes one way. He isn't going to be better at age 42 than age 41. One thing Brady has shown is that it truly is impossible to beat Father Time. If he can't do it with his witch doctors and potions and yoga, along with his desire to stick a dagger into the heart of non-Patriot fans, then nobody ever will. Another thing Brady has going for him is that eh was never all that athletic. It's counter-intuitive, but the super athletic QBs will never be around at age 41-42, because even though they have a much higher ceiling in terms of physical tools, they also rely on them more and play a different type of game. Once those tools are gone, can they become statues that cannot move but can still play? I doubt it.
  4. Fumbling going into the end zone has got to be the most crushing type of turnover
  5. Hit Brady early and he is skittish the rest of the game... Hit him early, force a punt on their first possession, and score on yours to go up 7-0. That's almost always the type of game that beats them. If it's a shootout and he isn't pressured OR you settle for FGs too many times you are going to lose still (see KC).
  6. I don't mind Bulldog. I think he lost his mind on the caller yesterday because he is probably frustrated at being tied to Schopp, who is by far more negative and dominates their show when he is on. So the "you guys rip on Allen" bit probably drives him nuts, since it's mostly Schopp, who has a hang up about Cleveland's backup QB that he cannot shake. Plus, some of the guys on WGR were so negative about Allen that they want to be justified, so they are sort of trapped.
  7. I want to see those fancy NE fans with their $100 designer gloves and dumb little tassle winter hats grabbing their heads in disbelief as the Bills stick the DAGGER into any hopes they have of a first round bye! I also want close ups of Brady standing on the sidelines looking miserable as the Bills kneel out the clock at the end of the game to a chorus of boos. Bonus points for a huge sideline blowup between Brady and McDaniels after Brady throws his 2nd pick trying to avoid getting sacked by Kyle The Patriots are like a wounded cobra. Still very dangerous, but not the same team. their confidence has to be a little rattled, so let's rattle it some more! Brady is trying everything to avoid getting hit, and he is one of the worst QBs against the blitz this year. He is in self preservation mode. He is not a top QB in terms of stats this season, and he is making some bad decisions when he gets pressured that he didn't used to make. He has never liked getting hit and he doesn't like it any better at age 41. Gronk can barely move, and looks like a 50 year old retired RT coming back to play TE. The guy is toast. Sure, he can make the occasional play but so can any halfway decent TE. He is not a game changing weapon anymore, and that back is not going to heal up while playing all 17 games and hopefully the wildcard round. Edelman is breaking down from catching all those short passes and then getting walloped. It's what has made their offense work: take the snap, throw in 1-2 seconds to a wide open Edelman, and have him run for 5-7 yards before he gets destroyed by the DB/LB. Edelman has taken so many vicious shots for so long that it's starting to catch up with him. Same thing they did with Welker. By the time NE was done with him he was a mess physically. Sure, he had a good season or two with Denver, but he was pretty much washed up when they got rid of him. Hogan is just a guy. The rest of their WR crew is mediocre at best. The best way to beat NE is to run the ball and make sure to score TDs in the red zone. It sounds crazy, but if you make them 1 dimensional and put pressure on their offense to keep up that's when the problems arise. If you let NE run the ball and keep giving them chances in a close game they will beat you typically. No matter what happens, there will be no week 17 preseason walkthrough for them. They are going to need to play all 17 weeks. If Houston wins Saturday they are going to be staring at 2 extra games that their starters usually rest for.
  8. I'm loving his game, and McKenzie is a nice role player. Next season we should sign a solid to great WR in free agency, draft a WR with a high pick, and bring back Foster, McKenzie and Zay. If we can add a TE that is a decent WR group, maybe a great one if Foster develops even more and our rookie and FA signing are great. Zay would be icing on the cake.
  9. Sal is funny... If you feel good about the team you love him but if you're mad at the team he will drive you insane. You know Schopp probably banged in sick for the post-game the minute Josh Allen threw that long TD pass to Foster to take the lead and Rosen got sacked for the 11th time and threw his 5th pick (slight hyperbole) and went to the bench. If Josh Allen threw a pick to lose the game Schopp would have come in with strep throat and a 102 degree fever to rip the kid to shreds on the air. He still can't get over Cleveland's backup QB not being here as the starter.
  10. OP brings up some good points... it would be nice to see something finally go Boston's way in the world of sports!
  11. I'm worried about this Eagles team spoiling the fun we have going on in the AFC next week... I'll forever be grateful for them knocking off NE in the SB though so whatever happens happens
  12. Eagles might be a problem against the Texans Also, Rams will be 1 and done. Zero depth
  13. Don't forget... Allen is really raw and needs 1 even maybe 2 years on the bench to develop So this is the worst he should ever be... According to the talking heads he should never have been on the field this year
  14. McKenzie going Aaron Rogers on us! Left on a cart comes back in!
  15. Mc Dermott must improve clock management and decision making He goes aggressive when he shouldn't all of a sudden...
  16. On a positive note New Era Field looks great on TV... Much better than a lot of other stadiums when I switch to Red Zone during the endless commercial breaks
  17. When did the ***** circus come to town? I didn't see the trucks
  18. Good protection iffy throw incomplete Good protection great route great throw can't make easy catch.... This offense just can't put plays together
