  1. Totally different from Bell... Gordon will report in time to get credit for this year of service. He owes LA s year of service, whether it be this year, next, or after. Bell had no contract so although Pittsburgh could have franchised him again it was pointless to do so.
  2. True, but I wonder how many hours a day are truly necessary and how many are just for show when it comes to it.
  3. Maybe the RB was going for a strategic fumble... fumble near the goalline so the other team gets it on their own 1 or 2. Go for the safety, then get the ball and score 8. Probably much better odds of getting a safety with the other team inside the 2 than recovering an onsides kick. If you're down 9-11 points late in a game the strategic fumble could be your only shot of coming back!
  4. KC will be an interesting team this year... I'll be rooting for them IF the Bills don't make it to the Super Bowl
  5. In! This is always fun
  6. The point would be that they would need to pay a higher salary, thus making it tougher to do I'm sure if my plan worked someone would have done it by now
  7. I get that if they are worth decent $ they should be on the 53... But there are all kinds of wonky contract issues on every team... If Singletary is amazing he might be making less than the special teams RB Didn't Denver do something like pay one if our cut RBs 800k to be on their practice squad? I think you can pay as much as you want to guys on the PS as long as it's above the minimum If you're in good salary cap shape you could Essentially have a 56 or 57 man roster by doing this
  8. Just a thought... As a way to make use of current cap space could Beane stash Duke and a couple other guys by paying them $2 million to join our practice squad? That would keep other teams away from a cheap poach and we've got the cash and cap room.
  9. How's Rosen's body language since this was announced?
  10. That would probably be the hardest part. They were in a training camp, wearing Bills helmets (or whatever team). They played in 4 NFL games, against other NFL players in NFL stadiums. They got a paycheck of some kind from an NFL team, even if it wasn't huge $$. Then it's over, just as the regular season begins. So close. They have to wonder "what if?" That must really, really suck.
  11. 78%? Wow! That number seems high but believable at the same time, if you know what I mean... Is the practice squad a certain set salary, or do players sign whatever deals they can? Does that count towards the salary cap? In other words, could a team stash a guy by paying him something like $1 million to be on the practice squad, essentially creating a 54th roster spot in case of injury? I knwo other teams can poach them, but can't the original team activate him if they find out that's going to happen in order to keep him?
  12. Patriots are scared of the Bills and want intel
  13. Luck and Manning made so-so to bad Colts teams Super Bowl contenders. Rogers makes so-so to bad Green Bay teams Wildcard contenders. To me, that's the difference. Just look at Luck's retirement. Before that the Colts were a team a lot of people were picking to win this year's Super Bowl. Now? Most have written them off. So I would say both Manning and Luck did more with less in Indy overall, but it's close. You're right that Green Bay hasn't exactly stacked their teams though. One thing Rogers, Luck and Manning have in common is being good enough to keep incompetent coaches employed. Luck actually had his best coach so far (IMO) in Reich and was great last season, but it was too late because he was so beaten up by previous years of awful roster management and clueless coaching with Pagano. But Rogers had McCarthy, the definition of mediocre to poor, for most of his career. Manning had guys like Caldwell as his head coach, and still won 12+ games and went to the Super Bowl anyway. If Dungy had stuck around longer in Indy I think they would have won 1-2 more Super Bowls with Manning. The advantage that Brady has had is having the GOAT HC (or close to it) his entire career and one system that they run up there. So, all that said, we're arguing over whether Rogers is just GREAT or whether he is the BEST QB in the league. I have him top 5, but I don't buy the "best QB in the league" talk that I hear every year regarding Rogers.
  14. Peterman has huge arms for a guy known for poor arm strength
  15. Mr. Croom ain't going nowhere He's on the HHH plan
  16. Slotermania is OVER!
  17. Edelman just possibly reinjured his left hand getting tackled in this 4th preseason game... He was wide open though like always
  18. In fact it looks like Edelman hurt his hand
  19. Patriots are playing Edelman and Gordon Lol
  20. No dome! This is football weather!
  21. I'm surprised they issued Sammy's #14
  22. Watching with the cats! Days like today make me so sad to think of a gross dome stadium!
  23. Maybe... It's certainly possible... Brady has played an entire career with one of the greatest coaches of all time and a solid roster. That does play a huge role
  24. Did I say he was a loser? Did I say he wasn't great? No, in fact, I said he was "great" many times. Some people seem to struggle with nuance. He is not the best QB in the league, IMO. Yours may differ, which is fine. Given that so many people label him the best QB in the league, he is overrated in my opinion, because I don't think his level of play warrants being called the best QB in the league. I would take the following curently active QB's over Rogers: Mahomes Wilson Big Ben Brees So he's #5 in my book, which is great. But he's overrated by many who have put him #1 for years now, even when Brady and Manning were both putting up obscene numbers still.
  25. It's true that GB has mattered more than the Bills since Favre's backup took over. I didn't say Rogers wasn't great. I said he is the most overrated QB in the league. So many people talk about him as the best QB in the league and one of the greatest ever. I think his reputation outranks his accomplishments. Again, Manning was a "choker" to do many but his teams were pretty much penciled in as division winners with 12+ wins. Even with 1000 yard stare Caldwell at HC Manning won a ton of games. Meanwhile, the "GOAT" in GB misses the playoffs and drives away his HC so he can run the team. Sure, he is great but he is uncoachable and not as good as so many say he is.
