  1. Maybe, obviously we can never know. I think McDermott is the defensive version of Zach Taylor. Difference being Zach Taylor's teams have owned us recently, but both are beneficiaries of a great QB.
  2. Yup. Saleh is a great DC in my mind. His defenses are always tough to play against, and have kept that team in it his entire time there. Last season they were alive for a playoff birth until very late in the season despite not having an NFL offense or a QB
  3. Rodgers is following in Favre's footsteps all the way. It's eerie, really. Get replaced by younger guy. Refuse to retire. Demand trade. GB says no, retire instead or be here as a backup to the new guy. Do the PR campaign and make it impossible for them not to trade you. Get traded to the Jets Have a so-so to bad year plagued by injury. Get cut and become a free agent. Go where you really want for the last 1-2 years. The achilles put him 1 year behind schedule, or he would already be on the 49ers, Falcons, or somewhere else in the NFC Brock Purdy turning into a pumpkin is lining up time-wise for Rodgers in just a few months. Although next season is still a year away the big moves are made in January
  4. McDermott needs to be let go at the end of this season, depending of course on outcome. There's plenty of time for him to prove the naysayers wrong. But another early playoff exit should be the end of his regime. We've topped out with him at the helm, and Allen only has so many prime years left. Honestly, would Chan Gailey, Doug Marrone or even Dick Jauron have had remarkably different records with Josh Allen, a top 2-3 QB in the league?
  5. I don't get it. Saleh's defenses have been great on a consistent basis. Rodgers must have made the move. Well, Saleh did basically challenge Rex Ryan to come find him, so there is that...
  6. It's a good challenge if only to possibly get your player rewarded for the effort
  7. I do. I have always liked Reid and Mahomes is a lot of fun to watch.
  8. Baltimore will finally get there is my prediction as of today. Which means Ravens about to implode... Lol
  9. Big man rumbling!
  10. Not a great HC though. He's in the absolute perfect spot
  11. Spagnolos defenses have come up huge for years now. Multiple SB wins including 1 against prime Brady's undefeated team That's a DC
  12. coaching and roster construction, as many have noted We don't have elite playmakers. We have a few decent players but not enough. The best offensive coaches become HC. That's our main problem/paradox. If the OC is great, he's gone to be a HC. We start over. If the OC is mediocre we suffer but he stays on until he's fired, then we start over. There's no reality where we have an exciting, great offense and get to keep it.
  13. This. Having a defensive minded HC is fine. The problem is McDermott's defenses feast on the mediocre to bad QBs (of which there are many in this league) but get eaten alive by the good QBs. Thus, in close games (which are typically close because we're playing a good team) coaching becomes key. It's good enough to win a lot of games but not good enough to beat the best. McDermott is a good, but not great, HC in my opinion. Saying "you could do a lot worse" means nothing. You could do a lot worse than Doug Marrone, obviously. You could do a lot worse than Dick Jauron (he was coach of the year once in Chicago and went 13-3 in the greatest turnaround in team history) You could do a lot worse than Chan Gailey, whose teams were fun here and there and even beat the Brady version of NE once or twice That argument means nothing, really. Also, how different from McDermott would the above coaches' W/L record be with Josh Allen? Put another way: if McDermott got fired and some other team (likely without a top QB) hired him, how do you think he would do? All of this is a moot point, because ownership loves him, so we're going to have to overcome coaching to win a Super Bowl.
  14. This. It's not an isolated incident with this coach.
  15. Must kind of suck on the west Coast... MNF starts at 520
  16. That commercial with LeBron makes me curious... Is the paint spattered t-shirt look a new fashion? If so I need to break out some old gear!
  17. We've literally been waiting all day for Sunday night! Lol Some crazy weather that rolled through tonight
  18. We need one of the scrawny 20 year old looking offensive genius guys at HC who wear a hoodie when it's 95 degrees Bonus points if they play Call of Duty and can beat the players on the team at it
  19. I agree with them. He was a guy who got coffee for mcVay but also has a great QB and 2 great WR After 5 weeks I'm not sure who's really good league wide
  20. To be fair I have always seen Taylor as a total meh at HC but the guys teams win big games including owning KC to the point that their fans nicknamed KCs stadium Burrowhead
  21. Aren't they up 2 inside the 10? I'm following on Google so maybe it's behind
  22. True but this is a weekly thing with Love and to some degree Dak Love it's getting to be a thing at this point. He doesn't play 1st halfs, then becomes unstoppable and sometimes it's enough, sometimes not
  23. Love only plays in second halfs It's actually pretty incredible. Other than Dak I've never seen a QB who could have like 70 yards at halftime but finish with 400+ and 4TDs on a pretty regular basis.
  24. He hurt his chest on the play where he also hit his head
