  1. Why? Everything is grey and silver and 8-8 in Dallas.... BLAH! Ugly uniforms, overpriced stadium, mediocre football. Here we are the TRUE America's team (red, white, and blue) and we're about to put the evil empire down. This is way more fun, as he noted.
  2. exactly... I watch Edelman take an absolute beating every week, and nobody ever says anything about Brady "throwing him into danger" Brady just throws it and you had better catch it if you play there.
  3. how did he get injured in camp? Does anyone know?
  4. "throwing guys into danger...." Someone ought to ask Welker or Edelman about that, if either one can still form a sentence after all the crazy shots they have taken. Edelman, as much as I can't stand him, I have to respect the way he takes huge shots every game when Brady "throws him into danger"
  5. Let's hope nobody gets injured at RB (obviously). But as stacked as the RB room looks now, let's say Shady tweaks a hammy Then its: Gore Singletary Those are your top 2. Who's carrying the load 20+ carries a game? What if one of them gets banged up a bit? You need all the good RBs you can get, and IMO Shady on this team is worth more than a mid to low round pick in 2020, when the Bills will be selecting 32nd in that round anyway.
  6. any team is nuts to pay a RB top dollar unless it's a very specific circumstance... If you have a young team on cheap contracts and are ready to push for a SB, then I would sign a top RB to huge $$ and play him 50% of the snaps until the playoffs. Look at Gurley last year, unstoppable in the regular season and on the bench all playoffs and in the SB. Worth it?
  7. this seems like a fun team, full of hard working, top-notch people, coached by a guy who has a sense of humor but also drives the players to succeed buckle up, this could get fun!
  8. Florio can't help but wonder if Zay would have made the catch had he been in a more exciting place... a place that players WANT to be... a place further to the north After all, he's just a guy asking questions! LOL
  9. That's an insane request, but I can't fault the man for trying to get everything he can. I don't follow Dallas that closely, but wasn't he having a bit of a rocky time last season? People say he is better than Wilson?! Russel Wilson is an amazing QB. He has every attribute you would want, and was one terrible playcall away from winning back to back Super Bowls over Manning and Brady. There aren't many current QBs I would rather have than Wilson on my team. He's top 5 in my mind for sure. Dak to me is a middle of the pack type QB.
  10. Still, when you look into the details of Sunday Ticket streaming you have to "qualify" for their service. There is little rhyme or reason. I put in some of my old addresses, some of which were single family homes and I got a nice "Welcome to the Team!" message. My current address? Nope. Not so special, I guess. Doesn't matter to me, because I live in WNY and between the Bills games and Red Zone I have no need for the ticket anymore. But I know it matters to a lot of other people. It should be exactly this simple: if you want it and have the money you can buy it at the price the NFL or whoever the partner is wants to charge for it. Practically every other sports league of any importance figured this out long ago. Even the NHL, which seems determined to bury its own product and has a commissioner that I am convinced hates his sport and its fans. From a quick Wikipedia search: MLB Extra Innings - Available to DirecTV and most digital cable providers. MLS Direct Kick - Available to DirecTV, Dish Network and most digital cable providers. NBA League Pass - Available to DirecTV, Dish Network and most digital cable providers. NFL Sunday Ticket - Exclusive to DirecTV* NHL Center Ice - Available to DirecTV, Dish Network and most digital cable providers. ESPN College Extra - Available to DirecTV and most digital cable providers. NFL purposely chose a provider that is a PIA for people to use because they really don't want out of market games being shown. "Watch your home team" is what the owners probably would say. That and "get off my lawn!" I wonder what the limit on how much an out of market fan would pay to see their team is. The amount people spend on games, parking, food is a lot. Would (say) a Chiefs fan stuck in Maine be willing to pay $500 for the season, knowing he/she couldn't make it to the games? $1000? The NFL wants to keep a lid on this and thus increase viewership for the local market.
  11. The golden age of streaming, where you could just "unplug" and get everything for a fraction of the cost is coming to an end. Networks are starting up their own streaming services and pulling their content from services like Netflix. The 2 most watched shows on Netflix are Friends and the Office. Both will be gone shortly, exclusive to the networks own service. There was a short window before greed caught up, but these networks only needed some time to figure out new ways to gouge customers. Cable companies will just provide the internet access and boost the price. I'm just amazed that the NFL hasn't gotten in on streaming without all of these ridiculous restrictions.
  12. I like Foster a lot and don't get what is going on. Do they not like explosive plays? IF he goes anywhere it better be KC. IF we won't use him at least help KC end the evil empire.
  13. completion % is totally over-rated. trent edwards is the perfect example of this, with his typical statline of 17/19 for 154 yards, no TD and 13 points scored on offense. His name became forever lowercase to me when he threw the ball away on 4th down and trotted to the sideline for his glass of warm milk.
  14. I hope we keep Shady and Gore on the roster. RBs always get banged up during the season. It wasn't that long ago that we went from having a packed RB corps of Spiller and Jackson and someone else I can't remember to calling guys up from the practice squad early in the season due to injuries at RB. Shady, Gore, and Singletary would be a nice top 3, with a 4th back kept up for depth. I don't see or get the desire to trade McCoy, no matter how good Singletary looks. He can look amazing and then tweak a hammy in week 3 and then it's all on Gore and whoever if Shady is gone. If Shady is here then we would have 2 very capable backs still. When you're probably only going to get a 4th rounder or less for McCoy I say keep him. He's more valuable than that.
  15. Zay should have caught that ball and Josh should have hit him with a cleaner pass on the curl route the drive before. I give Zay a break because the sun was suddenly right in his eyes when he made his cut. That's 2 more completions (probably more because the curl route would have extended a drive) and possibly a TD. Plays are right there to be made, which is encouraging to me. They aren't way off. Still, I am worried about Allen. I am hopeful, I am encouraged, but I still am not sold at all.
  16. I'll bet Sunday Ticket is pretty much the only thing keeping Direct TV afloat at this point. It's a PIA for anyone who rents (yes, the law says you can have it but many landlords don't care and it's a nightmare), when the weather is bad you can't watch TV, the the customer service has gotten worse and worse. Back when we rented in a large apartment building we were out of the Bills market area (stuck in the crappy NE zone) and I was willing to subscribe to Direct TV and leave the box unopened in my closet, just so I could get streaming access to the games and watch the Bills. We also had cable at the time for internet and TV. I could not install the dish anywhere and the landlord wouldn't even allow us to use a tripod on our private porch, which probably would not have worked anyway. Direct TV insisted that I had to actually install their equipment or they could not allow me to pay for the service, even if I wanted to. So they got zero $$ instead. The whole thing with Direct TV and the NFL is plain stupid. The NFL likes it this way, because in their minds making it as difficult as possible for fans to see out of market games is a good thing, because they think it will increase attendance and viewership for the in-market games. Instead, people just find free online streams and they don't get a dime. Most other sports have streaming packages that anyone can sign up and pay for and watch legally, which benefits everyone. The NFL is stuck in the past when it comes to this. All that said, I think we're about to see the end of the golden age of streaming. Everyone wants their own apps now with exclusive content, so the days of Netflix or Hulu having what you need are coming to and end very soon. You'll have to subscribe to 11 different services to watch what you want.
  17. Works for me! I just don't get the rush to send Shady out... RBs are practically guaranteed to get injured
  18. McCoy Gore and Singletary is a great combo RBs always get banged up. Keep all 3
