Sexy Rexy interviewed for Cowboys DC position

Sexy Rexy interviewed for Cowboys DC position
TheFunPolice replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
he keeps interviewing and not getting hired (Denver just last year) so I doubt it happens. It's weird to me, because for some guys like Rex the "interview" is a formality. You either want him or you don't, so why bother if you aren't going to hire him? -
Plus, people are comparing the two coaches at different points in their careers. Belichick had his superstar all-time QB early in his career, whereas Reid finally got his when he was 60+ years old. I really hope Reid continues to coach until he's 71 or 72. Then let's compare Reid at 72 to Belichick at 72, where he is now. IF Reid's still active until age 72 he will hold every single statistical advantage over Belichick except (maybe) SB rings. Plus he has a pretty successful coaching tree of guys who went on to win a lot of games and even Super Bowls (including hopefully McDermott!) Belichick has Brady and a bunch of awful coaches, outside of Vrabel who did all right in Tennessee but nothing spectacular.
-
McNabb was decent but not spectacular. For comparison, Kirk Cousins has better stats (more yards, more TDs) and is still active and will only pad his lead on McNabb. Reid also won a lot of games with Alex Smith. Smith was so-so and largely considered a bust until he was paired with Reid and at least had some success. Alex Smith once went an entire season in KC without throwing a TD to a WR, just for reference.

Word was that he was a little banged up by the end of the season, which makes sense. He's a smaller bodied QB, and running that offense relies on having his track star WRs also totally healthy. Inevitably, one or both of those WRs will get dinged up, miss games or just be a little bit slower, and the entire system stops working.

put another way, Reid was a borderline HOF coach before Mahomes ever played a down. Reid will be seen as the true GOAT, IMO, IF (and this isn't guaranteed) he coaches until he's 71 or 72. In other words, let's compare age 72 Andy Reid to age 72 Belichick and see about win totals, etc. It's very likely that he passes Belichick to have the most playoff wins of any HC in history (he's 6 behind now). It's also likely that if Belichick is done coaching and Reid coaches another 5-6 years he will break Shula's all-time record for HC wins. He probably won't get 6 rings though, so there will be a debate. All-time HC playoff wins: Reid All-time HC regular season wins: Reid Coaching tree: Reid by a billion Success without Mahomes/Brady: Reid was a top 10 in HC wins all-time without Mahomes, Belichick has done squat without Brady SB Wins: Belichick So it will be a real, robust debate, but I think the overall body of work, especially without each guy's superstar QB, is in favor of Reid. This is all of course assuming he continues to coach until he is the age Belichick is now (he's 5 years younger).

well, if they're truly engaged it won't be a secret for long Good for her and Josh if it's true. That means they're happy, and so we should be happy for them, especially for Josh since he's our QB!

Get excited... change is NOW with a youth wave!!!
TheFunPolice replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard Benford Shakir Torrence Kincaid Oliver Groot (sometimes) Cook Allen (of course) Lots of young guys making plays all over the roster. Von Miller contract is killing us, because we could be in a spot to give a 100M contract to a free agent WR to go with Diggs, Kincaid, Cook, and Shakir to really put this team over the top. This year we wended the season without our stud LB, his backup, or even his backup's backup. Next year we'll have Milano AND Bernard on the field at the same time, with Bernard proving he is more than capable after being pressed into action. -

The Most Embarrassing Day in Bills’ History
TheFunPolice replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
It feels like fumbles used to happen a lot more in general than they do now. Guys almost never fumble now overall. I know it does happen, and did happen Championship game weekend to the Ravens in particular, but I mean especially RBs. Even the great ones put the ball on the ground (not often) but a lot more than you see now. Turnovers in general seemed higher. It's part of why a 14 point lead used to mean game over. -
I don't get the love for Dan Quinn. At all. Mediocre retread. I was certain with all the HC openings that Florio would have been going ballistic in his annual demand that someone hire Eric Bienemy.

What will you do when the Bills win the Super Bowl?
TheFunPolice replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cry like a blubbering baby then, marvel at the fact that Tom Brady, the monster under my bed, the bump in the night and the shadow in the hallway of my football fan life, called the Bills first Super Bowl win and very likely would be all excited for us. It's a confluence of Karma that is too strong to deny. Bills win the Super Bowl in New Orleans next season. This is the way it had to be. The bane of Bills fans existence providing the commentary for our first SB win.
