  1. somewhere... in a WNY gravel pit there are plain, ordinary pebbles that have existed for millennia as nothing more than sediment But SOON they will have the honor of serving as aggregate for the concrete that will form the backbone of the new Bills stadium, and these pebbles will be witness to GLORY!
  2. She does a pretty good job as a guest for Murphy and Tasker (when both are on and she does a segment) I think... The problem is when Tasker is left to run the show when Murph is off. As much as I love the guy as a player, listening to him talk over her and struggle to get a coherent sentence together is just brutal.
  3. So.... Do we still believe Bon Jovi that he was going to move to Tonawanda, buy a river boat and dedicate his life to running the Bills in Buffalo? All the guys from Toronto with the actual money in the deal we're dedicated to WNY? After all, he said it on Howard Stern!
  4. Which is the problem. Everyone knows that. It's like saying to a car salesman "I'm happy with your sticker price, and I'll pay cash right now if you say no to this, but would you cut $4000 off the sticker for me?"
  5. NFL needs Toronto to scare NY into forking over money. It's pretty clear. "If you don't build a stadium, the Bills could go to Toronto after all......" They used to do the same with LA. Would anyone believe Terry Pegula if he were saying these things? King Cuomo would simply wave him away and charge him a tax for having 5 minutes of his royal audience.
  6. Rogers is over rated. That doesn't mean he's not good, but the praise, status and fame he has doesn't match his accomplishments. His story does show the power of having a ring, though. It was popular for a while to call him the "best QB in the league." That always bugged me in a world where Brady and Peyton combined for 13 AFC titles and 8 Super Bowl wins while Rogers watched on his couch with his 1 appearance and 1 win. As far as Brees goes, I hope he plays just to put the records out of Brady's reach. It won't matter long-term, because Mahomes could break those records 15 years into his career and still have a handful left.
  7. a downtown location makes the most sense for a new stadium just because it has the highest chance of getting public $$ Otherwise, I would build it in OP in the current parking lot or nearby.
  8. Wait until Barry finds out that he has to play second fiddle to a baseball stats guy that lives in California. Sometimes you take a gig thinking that you can slowly get the bosses to ease up on certain things and make it work, only to find out that they really meant what they said when they spelled out all of those ridiculous details in the interview process.
  9. The Pegulas are in a tough spot with public money. If everyone believes that they would never move the team and it will be here forever, then there is absolutely zero fear/leverage to get public $$. His Majesty in Albany and our county executive will just say "well, they aren't moving the team so we don't feel the need to cough up any significant $$" But they can't make the type of threats that Mr. Wilson constantly had to make in order to force action on the part of the state, city, and county. Nobody would believe them. So other owners and the commissioner need to be the ones rattling cages. I think that's what is going on. I wonder how significant renovations would need to be to New Era in order to make it worthwhile. If it lasts 10-15 years and costs $300-$500 million, it seems like a waste.
  10. Maybe he didn't like the idea of submitting his off-season plans to the analytics committee for revision and approval Depodesta even offered to come into work once a month to sign off! What a disaster the Browns are.... I wouldn't be surprised if Baker was chair of the group that approves the coaches game plans LOL
  11. I for one don't like the extra point being a nail-biter. Imagine driving for a Super Bowl tying TD, only to miss the XP.
  12. The skills competition is more interesting than the actual game. Make the Pro Bowl a flag football game and bring back some legends to play alongside the current all-stars. Marino and Kelly used to have their own game between their own squads of retired guys for charity. Montana, Favre, Peyton Manning, Marino, even guys like Boomer could probably still play a flag football game. Probably couldn't do legends vs current guys, but you could make the legends QB captains and they pick teams and play part of the game. I'll bet Deion Sanders could still play. It would be 100X more interesting.
  13. All-time great offensive mind, and I hope he gets a ring this year. As Parcells said, when you win a ring nobody can ever say you couldn't win the big one. That's really the only criticism of Reid that anyone has left. I also want to see Mahomes get a ring early. It takes all the "will he ever win one?" pressure away. For the rest of his career, he would be a Super Bowl winning QB.
  14. That song about New Orleans is kind of stuck in my head now. "I got an NO from the NO... Sean Payton talking about the deal though..." It's terrible but somehow I keep hearing it over and over in my mind.
  15. This is my favorite ref for penalty announcements
  16. After these games McDermott and Beane are going to build an elite DL, stack the roster with offensive talent, find a superstar LB and be more aggressive on offense
  17. I was hoping for 17-7 just for interest sake
  18. This looks like a blowout in the making
  19. IMO this is why the NFL has been hesitant to do much about NE Once the floodgates open it gets ugly for the sport.
  20. The funniest thing I've read in a while was a number of posts on the Pats Fans board saying that same thing. Imagine Patriots fans, without any sense of irony, posting about how the NFL is rigged! Except for their titles, of course! That was them overcoming the league, America, and the world! LOL On the topic of the games, I am rooting for KC. I see the 49ers winning easily.
  21. AB is in for a rude awakening. Someone who makes millions and spends millions is actually no better off than someone who makes $50,000 and spends $40,000. Actually, the "millionaire" is much worse off, because it's a lot harder to continue to make millions to support that lifestyle than it is to make $50,000. And one balance sheet is in the green and one is in the red the minute the big $$ stops rolling in. In the short term it's flashy, but as soon as the income stops everything becomes too expensive to manage. Put it to you this way, if someone gave you a $5 million house most of us couldn't even afford to pay the property taxes (around $66,000 a year) much less take care of the place. Just having expensive, flashy things costs money.
  22. I hope he's great right away I can't explain it, but I want the Browns to continue to implode. A division with Lamar, Big Ben and this promising rookie, coupled with a totally dysfunctional front office/coaching structure, doesn't bode well. Wait until Stefanski is submitting his rough drafts of game plans to professors Haslam and Depodesta, who have both earned their stripes through success in the league, for revision and commentary before they give him the OK or make him do a re-write. LOL Depodesta might even commute into work every few weeks just to check in. I'm shocked, because I always thought I would root for them to be good because their fans deserve it. But as soon as they were the popular SB pick last summer I couldn't stand them, and Baker Mayfield isn't as fun as I thought he would be.
