  1. well, we prefer our WRs with 2 good knees.
  2. Cousins is a guy everyone loves to dunk on but he consistently gives you 4000+ passing yards, around 30 passing TD, and around 9 INT on average. He's pretty good. Not elite but pretty good. Too bad SF is determined to prove Purdy is a real QB, because a Cousins/Shanahan reunion would have made the 49ers a real contender.
  3. At first I thought Todd Collins but that was so long ago... It was somewhat recent I think, unless time passes that quickly. It was a guy who never did anything here, not sure he ever even played. Then he had a "look at this guy!" moment for like 5 minutes before reality set back in and I don't think he was ever heard of again. Maybe he went from Washington's backup to Chicago the next year to be their starter and played for 2-3 games before getting benched for good?
  4. Falcons are loaded and in a terrible division and a weak conference as well. If we beat Atlanta in the Super Bowl I would of course be extremely excited, but they're a team you want to beat for Super Bowl #2 or #3, not your first. That said, if you play em beat em of course. You do NOT want to lose the Super Bowl to the Falcons of all teams.
  5. Wasn't there a former (like long time ago) Bills backup who resurfaced when he was like 37 or 38 and had one great 6-7 game stretch for like Washington or someone then vanished again?
  6. medical science is much different now than 75 years ago when Marino tore his Achilles... Cousins and Rodgers will both be fine
  7. Bosa is just like his brother and also Kittle: do close to nothing in big games Kelsey makes plays all day long. Chris Jones makes huge plays when they need it. Aaron Donald is always around the ball when the Rams have meaningful games. If you're going to pay the big $$ then you want the big production. The Bosas and Kittle would be the perfect SF trifecta of big $$, big names, zero impact in the big games.
  8. I like the signing, but hopefully it doesn't preclude us from drafting a 340+ pound DT
  9. I remember when they signed Beasley and Brown, both guys were your typical solid NFL vets but nothing to go crazy about. Both had a huge impact here, though. I expect something along those lines.
  10. I'm having ranch on my salad for lunch today. Dion gets it... Ranch is fine except for with wings. It's chicken wing month and they keep talking about it 24/7 on the radio around here.
  11. This is going to be a lot of fun to watch.... Steelers have basically been going 9-8 (ish) every year and getting to the playoffs without a QB
  12. it drives me nuts that they were Aaron Donald being 1 second later on 4th down from Burrow hitting a wide open WR to win the Super Bowl and Allen hasn't even gotten a shot yet
  13. I do worry a bit about this. "Josh will take care of it" seems to be the plan far too often. Just like "Aaron will make it work" was in GB. The problem is once the playoffs start elite teams will have answers for that. Look at GB now. Young QB so they suddenly start drafting WRs in rounds 1 and 2 to surround him with. You know, to help him succeed and all.
  14. This is why I read every post saying "but the cap, guys..." in a whiny little voice when it comes to the Bills making moves. Beane needs to figure it out. This is the competition. There are no "luxuries." The whole damn league is a luxury.
  15. Dawkins is literally everything you want in a LT
  16. Sal C keeps making the rounds on sports shows making this comparison, and honestly I find it a little embarrassing to listen to. Look, I love Josh Allen and the Bills, but this team hasn't accomplished jack squat. Zilch. It's a step above Denver's purge, because these guys played in some playoff games. Time passes and people forget just how incredible those 90's Bills team were, loaded with HOF players and borderline HOF guys, with a HOF coach and HOF GM (for the beginning of the run). 4 straight Super Bowls vs losing in the Divisional round every year. It is not the same.
  17. let's see.. trade a very good to great LT, create a huge roster hole, then we can hear about how everything we need to help Josh Allen is a "luxury we can't afford" even more than we do now. In short, no.
  18. (5) Herbert: I could see it. Harbaugh is the real deal. (4) Jackson: he is an electric player, fun to watch, but struggles in the playoffs generally. Still, he's a lightning bolt, and if everything lines up at the right time he could absolutely do it. Good HC, solid defense, solid team overall. Hard to root against Lamar, unless it's vs the Bills. (3) Burrow: I could also see it. Guy has been a winner his entire football life. HC doesn't impress me, though. (Insert name here) would also win lots of games with Burrow and 10 #1 WRs on offense. (2) Purdy: Not going to happen... A product of his surroundings. Sorry Purdy fans. (1) Love: Sorry, I don't buy the hype. He had a nice second half of the year, for sure. If Cousins doesn't get hurt we're not having this conversation, because they wouldn't even be in the playoffs. Remember when Green Bay was basically giving up on the year halfway through? I wouldn't say Allen right now, because I think the team is going to be in tough this year. Have to wait to see free agency and the draft though. But so much can happen with injuries around the league, teams looking better or worse than we thought, trades, etc.
  19. Payton was such a weird fit in Denver, IMO Same with Harbaugh on the Chargers. Could some top QBs and HCs go the NFC at some point, please? It creates a world where the AFC is a buzzsaw to get anywhere, while in the NFC a team with a losing record could easily be the 7th seed.
  20. I was going to say... maybe this is what he wanted for his birthday?
  21. I just looked up this Sweat kid... DRAFT HIM NOW! We can work to help him fill out a bit more. I mean, I would settle for 360 given his athleticism. Him + Oliver would be amazing on the DL
  22. who is this year's 330+ pound guy who might be a bit slim at age 22 but could bulk up to 350+ and become the next Mt. Washington at DT?
  23. I have never understood the term "luxury pick" Do we want to WIN a Super Bowl or not? That term suggests that we're just trying to survive, man, and do some stuff here and there. Meanwhile, the Bengals will draft another WR and have like 5 #1 WR for Burrow and continue to beat us in the playoffs while we settle for the Gentleman's B in life. Being great and winning it all requires some guts.
  24. Agree the Chiefs ratings are interesting for a team that keeps winning Super Bowls especially... Head Coach A+ Ownership F- Plus a lot of low ratings. Basically, they love Andy Reid but hate the rest of it
