  1. Why is everyone so angry? Do you ever notice that? Everywhere you go, people are so quick to get nasty and confrontational.
  2. I mostly worry about what this means for the direction of the team. I could see McDermott looking like the Jack Nicholson meme nodding yes maniacally at posts suggesting KC "won with defense" so we need to invest all our resources there and Allen will figure something out on offense.
  3. Elite WR but injuries and age are catching up. If he was truly unhappy here then it's a win-win. I like Tomlin's saying: we want volunteers, not prisoners.
  4. I hate this type of reasoning. Let's apply it to the defense instead: McDermott is a mastermind. A gem. "Best Bills coach ever" (LOL but ok). So let's make due with so-so defensive players on dirt cheap contracts and give Allen weapons on offense. SF gets to the SB and wins tons of games without a real QB because of skill players. Imagine in SF had a real QB? Brady got a couple Super Bowls with mostly elite defensive play, but overall didn't win without elite playmakers either. Edelman and Gronk were pretty damn elite, as were the guys in TB (Evans, Godwin, Gronk).
  5. The thing I remember about the MNF opener was how down Allen sounded, starting off with the "same s--- different day" line really struck me. 2023 was a weird year for the team overall. Something seemed off (to me) all year about them. Might have nothing at all to do with Diggs but it did start with him having some sort of issue around minicamp and McDermott saying he was concerned. All that said, IF Diggs was upset about something and was vocal about it that doesn't mean he was wrong. It depends on the circumstances.
  6. Football is far and away my favorite sport, so for me the Super Bowl is a holiday. Heck, we have a draft party the Thursday night of the 1st round every year. It's a show about teams picking players and I would rather watch that than the Final Four. But that's me. Football is a passion of mine, hockey I watch when the Sabres are good (so not for the past decade or so) and beyond that I might watch basketball if I'm bored and it's late at night but I don't follow it like I used to.
  7. pending the results of the draft the Jets (if healthy) could actually win this division this year. they won 7 games without playing offense last season
  8. fair point yeah, he was there forever it seemed like, and honestly the Bengals had some weird luck in the playoffs too
  9. How can regular people afford 40K just for the right to buy 2 seats on top of that? I'm in the wrong line of work....
  10. dumb question maybe, but does this mean 20K per seat, just for the right to then buy the seats? So 2 season tickets means 40K fee just to buy the tickets on top of that? Is it one-time?
  11. Marvin Lewis got fired. Period.
  12. comes with the territory of playing big boy football You're going to be talked about nationwide, not just in a small town media market where it's a bunch of Sal's kissing up to you and defending you 24/7 Ask Mike McCarthy about that. His team makes the playoffs every year and can't kick the door down too, except he has a SB ring as a HC
  13. I like it, because right now the ball just sails through the end zone for a touchback anyways, and the only kickoff returns for TD happen against us it seems like Is there a whistle or something so the 20 players who can't move know when it's time?
  14. nah, the Bills to Toronto story seemed like his dream, and Pegula buying the team and the Bills building a new stadium here seems to have really broken his spirit and zest for relocation stories. Now he's back to "the end of football?" type stories to make himself feel better.
  15. only if he's the size of a small car no 298 pound quick guys who will just get pushed aside and run over all game long
  16. I'm not sure how bad Saleh really is, given that his defense (which is what he is known for) consistently plays great and they won 7 games last year without a QB basically
  17. if we're going DL let's go big (literally): Sweat. Beane needs to forget the words "slim down" which he loves to toss out every time they draft a DL
  18. I saw the M&T Bank commercials... Diggs wasn't saying goodbye, he was holding out a football to you and winking. He was holding... out.... a football... And this is how you repay the man.
  19. we need to be more explosive= draft DL in rounds 1 and 2. Deep WR draft and Diggs was a late round pick will be the company line We're at the place with WR that we were at QB during the drought. All we need is Buddy Nix to come back to give his patronizing "golly gee, we'd love to have 3-4 picks in each round so we could take a WR" schtick. Then he could explain how each team only gets 1 pick per round, unless they make a trade.
  20. I'm not 100% sure that the Cardinals don't hate their HC. Last year it was the social media team putting out videos of him speaking to the team that made him look like a clown. I mean, those are edited, cut up videos that they can pick and choose what is shown... This year they seem determined to do him in roster-wise. You can already see the Cardinals storyline for 2024: Murray at QB, switch to Ridder at QB after 6-7 games even though Murray is playing fine, then back to Murray, then interim HC, and finally Mike Shula as new HC in January of 25
  21. well, we prefer our WRs with 2 good knees.
  22. Cousins is a guy everyone loves to dunk on but he consistently gives you 4000+ passing yards, around 30 passing TD, and around 9 INT on average. He's pretty good. Not elite but pretty good. Too bad SF is determined to prove Purdy is a real QB, because a Cousins/Shanahan reunion would have made the 49ers a real contender.
  23. At first I thought Todd Collins but that was so long ago... It was somewhat recent I think, unless time passes that quickly. It was a guy who never did anything here, not sure he ever even played. Then he had a "look at this guy!" moment for like 5 minutes before reality set back in and I don't think he was ever heard of again. Maybe he went from Washington's backup to Chicago the next year to be their starter and played for 2-3 games before getting benched for good?
  24. Falcons are loaded and in a terrible division and a weak conference as well. If we beat Atlanta in the Super Bowl I would of course be extremely excited, but they're a team you want to beat for Super Bowl #2 or #3, not your first. That said, if you play em beat em of course. You do NOT want to lose the Super Bowl to the Falcons of all teams.
