  1. The pieces are in place to be competitive for a decade, maybe more, depending on Allen's career longevity. If he's anything like Big Ben the Bills could be somewhere between good and great (depending on the unique circumstances of each season) for 15 more years. That's an amazing job, and it's not as easy as just getting the QB. Yes, that's huge, but look at the Lions. Very talented QB whose career has been wasted by bad coaching and poor rosters. A nice way to celebrate this would be to lock up Feliciano for a few more years!
  2. Steelers aren't bad, but they don't strike me as a real contender, regardless of their record. Every time I see them play they seem flat/unimpressive.
  3. Maybe he's right, but I just question these types of stories. Time will tell, either way.
  4. A lot of times everyone knows what the other team is going to do, especially this late in the season. If you play the Titans, their offense is pretty much handing the ball off 167 times to Henry and making a throw here and there. If you played the Brady NE teams, it was a bunch of dink and dunk 3 yard passes to a wide open Welker or Edelman, with an occasional seam route to Gronk once you really tried to lock the short stuff up. If all else failed, and you shut that all down, Brady would toss a screen or short pass into the flat to some RB nobody ever heard off, who would catch 13 passes for 174 yards or something stupid. This is why Peyton didn't win more rings, IMO. His offense was downfield passing. He liked chunks. That's easier to take away, and bad weather helps as well. Knowing is one thing. Stopping it is another!
  5. In the AFC, the teams that would make me nervous in the playoffs are the Chiefs and Browns. Chiefs for obvious reasons. Browns you just never know who is going to show up. that defense and running game are for real, and those elements tend to remain consistent. Titans are like the Browns, but minus a stifling defense. If you can stop their running game they're just another team. No pass rush, nothing scary in the passing game.
  6. It's worth remembering that sometimes young star players have literally never experienced much losing, especially if they came from big college programs.
  7. It seems like half the Eagles team is always hurt for whatever reason. Really, he had one great chunk of 1 year before he got hurt, and has really never been able to get back to that level since. As far as Foles goes, it's odd that he can apparently only play on the Eagles or vs Tom Brady!
  8. I've always wondered if there were successful coordinators who just didn't want to be a head coach. If you love calling plays and focusing on the offense, and you are good at it, you're almost never under the gun, and everyone loves you around the league. You don't have to do all the things a head coach needs to do. It's probably not many, because people want to advance their careers, but I'm sure there are examples.
  9. I would be skeptical of reading a guy's facial expressions and body language. Yes, sometimes it can tell a story but other time guys are just different. I mean, Lamar Jackson smacks himself in the helmet and yells at himself out loud when something goes wrong! LOL It's ok for players to have different personalities. We just saw our OL rock our WR to sleep as a TD celebration!
  10. Pegula wants an open air stadium. He's said it a few times. I think Pittsburgh is the model. Unless it's an actual blizzard, these guys can throw and catch in the weather. Wind is a bigger problem than snow.
  11. Depending on how things go, the Lions and Falcons could be very attractive landing spots. Ryan and Stafford are both very good, IMO. Either could really flourish with a change of scenery. Put Matt Ryan with Shanahan in SF and it would be fun to watch.
  12. Let them hate... it's more fun that way! You KNOW teams and players love it!
  13. At the end of the day, as long as the Bills are OK with a 3-4 week bubble, it's really only one other team. the other 2 will only be in there for one game, then they get to go home.
  14. hilarious! It's neat having two OL (Dawkins and Feliciano) as two of my favorite Bills!
  15. I could see it being a tough spot. I think about this with Bienemy in KC as well. You're working with young star QBs and winning a lot, life is good. The OC or DC of a winning team is one of the most popular people in the league... everyone tells you how great you are, fans worry about you leaving, owners of other teams constantly make overtures for HC openings, you win accolades and SB rings, and collect tons of money. Since you are coaching a guy like Mahomes, for example, you can do no wrong. Most places you go the cupboard is bare or there is the famous "some talent but no QB" problem. Look at Chicago. Nagy has had good players but no QB, and he could be headed for an exit at the end of the season. Then what? Suddenly you go from "genius" with a QB who can do anything to a Mitch Trubisky situation, where no matter how hard you try the guy can't cut it. And it's all YOUR FAULT and you get criticized all day long.
  16. That is definitely true about Roman.
  17. I imagine they will re-sign Feliciano to a manageable 3-4 year deal. He is young enough still and has proven himself a key player and a morale booster on offense who his teammates love. Something like 4 years, $32 would be about right. That would be $8 million average per year, which would rank 17-18th in the league. I was a little surprised when I saw how much guards are making, although it makes a lot of sense given the lack of quality OL play around the league. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/guard/
  18. The more attention John Allen gets, the more Daboll will be a hot coaching candidate. That said, Greg Roman wasn't able to cash in on helping Lamar Jackson win an MVP by re-working the offense, so you never know. LOTS of open jobs this year, though, so that worries me. You know some team will do something nuts like hire Dave Wannstedt or Mike Mularkey or Dick Jauron as its head coach.
  19. love that he still has 2 years left on his deal after this season! Brown has 1 left after this year, so the band stays together next season, at a minimum!
  20. Steelers were begging to get beat for weeks. Bills have a great chance to win this game!
  21. Super Bowl bubble, at the very least, makes sense. I would put the top 4 teams in a bubble for the conference title games and Super Bowl. Ultimately, it's only a few weeks maximum, and I'm sure Bills players won't mind a vacation from the cold. Only 1 NFC team would be affected for the full several weeks.
  22. Travis White! Sorry just channeling the announcers! Lol
  23. At least make them take a chunk of clock
