  1. Why not just plan for an October start and play the super bowl at the end of February? That way you can play a whole season and hopefully with more fans
  2. Multimillionaires on their 50 acre estates who spend their days riding around on their side by sides that cost more than most people's cars and lounging in their massive gardens can't understand why people who can't pay their bills and don't even have a porch for fresh air can't just stay in their apartments with the windows shut and watch TV for the next 6-12 months. What's the big deal? You're being asked to swim in your half acre pool, eat scallops and steak for dinner, and watch the sunset over the mountains on the upstairs deck before hitting the hot tub. You want to run your business? So selfish....
  3. More likely stadiums limit to 25-30% capacity but with food and beverage sales where you order on an app and it's brought to you to keep people from gathering in concourses
  4. I'm sure some fans will be allowed but maybe 30% capacity NY Pause will be allowed to expire May 15 according to the governor yesterday. Then it's up to regions, and it's totally predictable how that will go. As soon as local politicans who live in these communities are in charge the criteria will be met to open. Numbers can be massaged as needed. Football season is 4 months away.
  5. To me, they wanted to really emphasize the overcoming tough circumstances" angle in light of what the world is currently going through. I get it, but it did get a bit much at times
  6. I read it differently... To me it's a bit naive and somewhat narcissistic... That seems like a strong word, perhaps, but I think it comes from being celebrated and idolized by everyone in WNY to the point where maybe they bought into their own hype and started to believe that everyone is personally invested in the details of their lives. So many top executives are terrible at communication... that's why they need to hire people and let them handle all this stuff and write checks when needed and collect the accolades and money afterward.
  7. Doom and gloom sells.... Maybe a bunch of San Antonio billionaires with a dream of bringing the NFL to San Antonio will buy the Bills for the guys from Whitesnake to run and they'll move in to a beach house in Dunkirk and devote their lives to keeping the Bills in WNY Makes sense to me
  8. She was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar.... That much is true But even then she knew she'd find a much better place... Sorry... Reading all the doom and gloom took me to 80s rock song land...
  9. I had a long post written up, but it boils down to this: LOTS of very wealthy, very powerful people want the Pegulas to fail. Simply put, they screwed up the NFL's dream to go international in Toronto. It doesn't matter if it was a good idea. the NFL destroyed the Chargers brand and turned them into a semi-pro team with 30,000 fans at games because the NEEDED 2 teams in LA at once when there had been none for years. If it weren't for the Pegulas the Bills would be in Toronto right now. If you want to believe that the Toronto businessmen whose stated dream was to bring an NFL team to Toronto were going to buy Bon Jovi the Bills and he was going to move to Tonawanda and buy a canal boat and devote his life to running the Bills in Buffalo then I don't know what to tell you.... But he said it on Howard Stern! LOL
  10. This whole outbreak could lead to greater levels of hygiene, sanitation, masks in public, reasonable crowd sizes, more business offering delivery and curbside pickups a norm, and overall cleanliness. The greatest medical minds on the planet are working on this. I foresee a treatment well before any type of vaccine. Once there is a treatment the disease becomes like any other issue people face in hospitals. COVID 19 will never go away.
  11. love them! It's nice to see a uniform remake that doesn't look like a random assortment of colors, stripes and logos Also, it's nice to see a uniform that isn't just shades of red and black. Cleveland's color scheme is unique, so I like it.
  12. I think it's really more about finding treatments that are effective so that this becomes manageable. This isn't going away, but the entire modern way of life isn't going to end because of a virus, either.
  13. In the end, we will probably end up being shut down from mid March to mid May, which us extraordinary in itself. Mid May is still a good 4 months away from mid September. For reference, 2 months ago was Valentine's Day, and hardly anyone here had COVID on their minds. These "lockdowns" were always meant to be emergency, temporary measures. Lots of measures will probably remain, like protective gear in public, social distancing in stores, reduced hours, etc. I would also bet that many, many more people than we realize have come in contact with this virus and have developed some degree of immune response. I can certainly see some changes in the way stores, offices, and business operate to create space between people going forward.
  14. The world is not going to be shut down for months on end. There will be nothing left and we will have bigger problems than sports.
  15. Minor league football would only work during something closer to football season imo... Wednesday nights from November til the title game in early March... Something like that when people are in football mode... I love football but spring just isn't football season
  16. The Rams are going to be a 8-8 level team for the next couple of years at least and Ramsey will be an afterthought playing in one of the biggest media markets in the league. Remember when anyone who had ever met McVay was suddenly a top HC candidate? LOL
  17. Is anyone really "pursuing" Newton? I feel like some team will shrug and say "fine, we'll give him a shot" but hardly a pursuit. That said, I think he still has some game left. Some team will get a bargain. I'm not saying he is MVP level still, but I think he can still play.
  18. This would be completely amazing BUT Part of me still thinks that because it's Brady and NE after all is said and done Ne will re-sign Brady, bring back AB and trade for Diggs
  19. Beane said the same things last year then they tried to trade for AB
  20. It's Florio's crusade. The guy makes his living off of the NFL but constantly spreads doom and gloom as much as he can.
