  1. It's been a while since MNF was much of a party anyway... The product has been more suited for an easy listening opening song, followed by multiple Raiders and Jaguars games for some reason.
  2. I think feeling a little less excited is due to not seeing any camp reports, preseason games, etc. They usually build the hype and give us glimpses of the team Once Thursday Night football airs this week it'll be on!
  3. So what I'm getting out of this thread is that Dareus is having his nails done in preparation for entering MMA
  4. I hope he didn't come here from one of Cuomo's travel advisory states or he's staying a minimum of 2 weeks.
  5. Same rules as before. If they determine that your address can receive Direct TV you're not eligible to buy just the streaming package, and they will tell you to subscribe to Direct TV instead. Sunday Ticket is the television equivalent of the free batteries or flashlight you get at Harbor Freight. It's just there to get you into the core Direct TV product. Direct TV is really a dumb company. Years ago, before they somewhat eased the restrictions and at least allowed streaming if you couldn't get service in an apartment, we moved out of state to an apartment complex where we couldn't have a dish. Back then, you had to be a Direct TV subscriber in order to stream Sunday Ticket, no exceptions. Fine. I wanted to see Bills games, so I tried every avenue, even saying I would subscribe, pay for the whole cost of Direct TV and Sunday Ticket with streaming, and just keep the satellite equipment in a box in my closet, since we were not allowed to install it outside the building. That way, Direct TV would get their money, and I could stream Bills games instead of being forced to watch Patriots games or whatever Fox put on every Sunday. No dice. They wouldn't allow me to do that. Dish HAD to be installed and verified to work or they would cancel my account. So instead of getting $100(ish) per month PLUs the Sunday Ticket fees, they got zero. I figured the cost of going to a couple of games per month was actually more than doing this, and I couldn't make it back to WNY for games due to work, so it made sense. Not to Direct TV, though. Nowadays, NFL Redzone Channel has pretty much made Sunday Ticket obsolete in my view. It's non-stop action, and you can sit down at 1 PM and barely move the entire day. No commercials, no breaks in the action, and not a penny in Direct TV's pocket.
  6. Since you can protect a handful of guys on the practice squad, it makes sense to put Bass there and protect him every week. If your kicker tests positive for COVID the night before a game and you don't have a guy you're screwed.
  7. LOL Everyone is saying these guys are done, but I can still see them going 8-8/9-7 and having an outside shot at the 7th playoff slot.
  8. This doesn't sound good, but part of me wonders how often these things went on in years past and nobody knew about it. 25 years ago we likely wouldn't have known, or cared, if someone on the business side left the team. I also worry about what happens with the stadium now. No way NY is going to pony up any $$ for a Bills stadium post-COVID.
  9. It's strange, because that was the type of reporting that happened every training camp. Who is lining up where? Who is getting first team reps? How do the rookies look? It keeps sports media and fans talking about your team and building excitement for the season. Now you can't say anything except "they practiced this morning" and if you're too specific about that it's probably a no-no. I'm more worried about the marketing team quitting all at once. It seems like once again something is going on behind the scenes.
  10. Awesome news! One of my favorite Bills! There's something special being put together here! Good players who are also great people.
  11. Why couldn't Direct TV just be allowed to show the Saturday games, assuming they aren't all nationally televised?
  12. Odd that so many Patriots are opting out.... I wonder how much of it is knowing that it won't be fun playing there AND losing and how much is BB encouraging players to opt out so the team ends up with a top 5 draft pick for a QB
  13. Realistically, his decision is already made. Maybe this is his way of: 1) Asking for some extra "hazard pay" in the form of a massive new deal 2) Drawing attention to the issues of safety that many players are feeling
  14. it's only available if you live somewhere that Direct TV service is not available.... It's in the fine print. Same as always looks like. FLSUNDAYTICKET.TV service is only available to non-DIRECTV customers who live in select multi-dwelling unit buildings (apartments, condos, etc.,) nationwide in the U.S. where DIRECTV service is not available, live in select areas within various metropolitan cities, live in a residence that has been verified as unable to receive DIRECTV satellite TV service due to obstructions blocking access to satellite signals, or are college students.
  15. So is the consensus that our top 10 richest NFL owner doesn't know how to run his business?
  16. Nothing "greasy" about it at all. It's the 2020 season. There will be a champion, if it is actually played. I would just delay the season until Jan 1 and play spring ball. Start 2021 season Nov 1 and 2022 as normal. That gives players a break between the super Bowl in May 2021 and the new season Nov 1 2021. Allow the opt outs to reconsider given the new start date.
  17. NHL has been a pretty good product, IMO. Players are definitely not taking it easy at all. Games are intense, fast paced... I wish there were CGI fans like Fox Sports is going to do, though. But most of the time watchin the NHL I forget there isn't anyone there because they do pump in some fake crowd noise in the broadcast. The NFL will have the benefit of observing how everything goes in the other 3 leagues and take what worked and run with it. Like NoSaint mentioned, as far as opt outs go, every year teams lose guys due to pre-season injuries. This just takes its place.
  18. There could be spring football this year: college football
  19. The Rock is extremely intelligent and successful. I doubt he bought it unless he has some plans for making it work. Maybe his star power will help the league?
  20. I would think he could heal up and come back for the stretch run in Dec/Jan/Feb Especially with the relaxed roster rules this season, the team might be more likely to keep him on the back burner until he's all healed up and ready to roll. If he comes back Jan 1 that gives him 5 whole months to heal up: August, September, October, November, December. I would think you would want him to play in our 2 playoffs games before taking the field in the Super Bowl, though. Can't have a guy making his season debut in the big game!
