Brady is a big part of this. These young guys want rings, because they play in an era where an old guy gets talked about as being super human for playing on an all-star team while they are being pummeled on a weekly basis and have 1 WR to throw to and mediocre defenses. Well, maybe not Aaron... LOL Nobody has gotten more mileage out of 1 ring than him. that said Brady only had 3 at age 37. But there's that pesky NFC title Game in the way....

It would at least give opposing OL a dilemma of which guy to blatantly hold every play. I say sign him and put him on a pitch count until the playoffs. We need him to peak in January.

I'm kind of glad that star QBs are able to put teams feet to the fire. As much as I delight in dumping on "MVP" Rodgers (and I do) Green Bay has criminally mismanaged that roster. They have an NFC title Game every year (which they lose) and just need some talent to get over the hump, and they burn prime picks on a freaking QB who they don't even want to play for several years? They couldn't have used another offensive weapon vs Tampa? Meanwhile, you're Aaron Rodgers, reading the Bills message board dreaming of playing for the red, white, and blue, and you have to read posts like mine saying you're the paper tiger because your team can't build around you and tries to cheap out at every turn and rely 100% on you to carry them. And when you don't it's because YOU come up short while grandpa in Tampa is so incredible and superhuman. I could see how that would get REALLY old for guys like Wilson and Rodgers. BTW... Rodgers is a choker. There, had to say it one more time!

He'll go somewhere that is a contender, and good for him. I think the Bills could be in the mix, if they want.

The Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl Debate
TheFunPolice replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As bad as the game and score ended up being, it should have been 10-6 at halftime, not 21-6, if not for things that were almost 100% in KC's control. If KC lines up onside for the FG that Tampa made to go up 10-6 (sound familiar?) it never gets to 14-6. If Reid doesn't burn time outs to encourage Brady to just chuck it deep and get bailed out by PI flags for a free TD right before half, it stays 10-6. Without KC taking those time outs, Tampa probably runs out the clock, hoping not to give it back to Mahomes with timeouts before the half. Maybe if it's just 10-6, where TB has thrown the kitchen sink at you but you're still one Tyreek Hill spring from taking the lead. Either way, as much as Tampa physically dominated the game, it really SHOULD have been 10-6 Tampa at the half with KC coming out to start the 3rd with the ball and a chance to take the lead. Totally different ballgame maybe. In past years, these "what ifs" would grate on me, because I would want someone else other than Brady to be stacking up accolades, especially since it didn't matter to the Bills (I'm talking about the 20 years of nothing that were our existence). Now it doesn't matter. NE didn't win, and the Chiefs are in the way of our team! Also, I've said it before but it bears repeating here: plenty of other "Jordans" never got back to the big game after early success. Just ask Rodgers or Wilson about that. -

I wonder if he would do something like 2 years, $28 mil, all guaranteed? With the cap being down a lot of guys are not going to get their big time $$ this offseason. This doesn't hamstring him or the team long-term, and allows him to cash in a bit now and more in just 2 years. -
I wonder how his career goes. It will be fun to watch. Russell Wilson went to 2 straight SBs early in his career and then played well on a good but not great team ever since and has never been back for 7+ years now. Everyone assumed we would be seeing Russ in that game a few more times, just like Mahomes now. There is a very real chance that Mahomes and the Chiefs don't get back for quite a long time, if ever. The AFC is loaded with good young QBs.

I've realized over the past few days that it's the Patriots who I hate more than Brady. This season the Bucs travel to NE in what you know will be a prime time game. I'm not 100% sure how I'll feel, but I think I'll want to see the Bucs drop 50 on the Pats and Belichick while their home fans cheer for the Bucs. It's fun to see someone play this well at that age, although I don't want him to win nor do I cheer for him. Still, he is proof that you CAN play into your 40's as a QB if you have the dedication and get a little lucky with injuries. Not many are that laser focused for that long. A lot of guys win a ring, try for another, but are rich, have a title, and happy. They aren't going to put themselves through what it takes for that many years. I'm not even sure Big Ben exercises anymore. On the other hand, Brady looks at his 7 rings and sees 13 failed seasons.

Brady has won 7 Super Bowls in his 20 seasons, which means to TB12 that he came up short 13/20 times. That's the difference between him and the paper GOATs like Rodgers and Mahomes. His drive and commitment is insane. Gotta hand it to him. Plus, the more I hear about this win being him "getting over" on Belichick and NE the more and more I'm actually good with it. Having a team to root for in the Bills matters too. Screw KC! They are in OUR way now. Plus Mr. GOAT is sticking around which is great for teams to get some legacy opportunities beating him while he's as good as ever. Most of his SB wins came after age 38. Just let that sink in. If he retired at age 37 he would have 3 rings and be 3-2

He's enjoying himself with this one, for sure... Good for him! It would have been hilarious if the trophy ended up in the water though! -
2021 First Game: Thursday Night Buffalo at Tampa Bay?

Cowboys for sure -
The golden age of streaming, for people who want to brag about how smart they are saving money and "cord cutting" is coming to an end fast. These companies have figured out how to play the game. Yes, streaming is the future, as is paying a LOT more to do it. All you streamers were just Beta testing the system for them. Soon everything worth watching will be on a + network. It's already happening. You have Hulu or Pluto TV or Saturn Tv or Mars TV? Cool! you can watch the same reruns that they show on cable. Read the comments about Discovery+ on any social media platform.

Chiefs vs Bills rebuild comparison
TheFunPolice replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't forget: it was a GIVEN after Seattle's 2nd SB in a row that "we would be seeing a lot more of Russell Wilson in these games" That was 7 years ago. Wilson turns 33 next season. It is in no way guranteed that Mahomes will ever play in another SB. Maybe he will. Or he could play on average teams due to his contract and end up losing in the playoffs year after year like Russ has. Don't even get me started on the "best QB in the game" Rodgers, who never wins anything except regular season awards. -
Certain guys always seem to be the winners in the end. Others constantly get hyped as the greatest QBs ever but win once. Brees Rodgers Just for starters. "Best QBs in the league" who never seem to be in the big dance and whose teams always seem to come up short, regardless of circumstances. It's crazy to say it, but Mahomes could very well have a Wilson type career, going to 2 straight, being hyped as an MVP every year, but never getting back for a LONG time, if ever.

If Allen wins a Super Bowl next year he'll have as many SB rings as Mahomes, Brees, and Rodgers.
