I think he's in his own head. Trying to live up to the contract, be the QB who wins a Super Bowl here, all of that. IMO this is why he looked so great in preseason action. No pressure, no reason to be tight. That's my concern, because big goals= pressure situations.

It looks bad at the end, but that safety would have drifted back to the WR if Josh threw it to the end zone, IMO. Now, he might have been able to gun it in there, but I it wouldn't have looked so wide open had the ball not been thrown to the sideline.

True... I guess it would be like an option punt. Punt/Pass or punt/run. Then again, you're right that there's probably a good reason this hasn't been tried by some sleep deprived special teams coach who spent too many hours at the facility! LOL

He's plenty fast enough, and I've always loved his elusiveness, work ethic and attitude . He was great his rookie season, then had a bit of a down year last year when we didn't run anyway, and then he trained like a madman to get faster and its paying off. I'm happy to see it! His recent success is well-deserved.

the punting game is a place where we could see the next evolution... Imagine a punter who could take the snap and start running, then either pass, keep running past the line of scrimmage, or punt while on the run with accuracy.... That would be a PIA to defend

Josh Allen went 20/26 for 194 yards and 2 TD vs the Packers in the final preseason game. So he's the same guy he was last season, except coverages and defenses have adjusted. Now the Bills need to counter. It's about being your best in February and winning a championship, so figure it out now and get some W's, then peak when the stakes are highest.

So he's still the same Josh Allen, it's just that defenses are scheming up ways to disrupt the Bills passing attack. You want the team to peak in January/December. This is glorified preseason right now. I saw this on a Patriots message board, and I though it was an interesting stat: In 6 super bowl winning seasons, the Patriots went: 2-0 twice 1-1 three times 0-2 once So the key is to bank these wins early, by any means necessary, then be hitting on all cylinders come December and January (and hopefully February!)
