  1. I've always wondered how Elway views his SB ring as a GM vs a QB
  2. If Rodgers retires they get nothing. Green Bay needs to act now while they can get a ton of assets.
  3. This would not be out unless Rodgers was truly done there.
  4. According to Trey Wingo Rodgers was told by the Packers that they would trade him, then they changed their minds. That makes more sense than "we're committed to him" after trading up for Love.
  5. Rodgers has made about a quarter of a billion dollars. He has been talking about Jeopardy more than football lately. He holds all the cards. He could retire and host the game show. Quarter billion in the bank, good health, still a star on TV. AND when Green Bay inevitably crumbles without him the GM and HC lose their jobs. By doing this, he has them in an impossible spot. They are in no position to say "fine, retire." Doing so will just put a spotlight on their idiotic drafting and mismanagement last year, AND on the Love decision, because he would be the guy in 2021. There would be nowhere to run. When it doesn't work, all the talk will be about how Green Bay wasted Rodgers career, and the people in charge will pay the price. The only price Rodgers would pay is being out of the league, going out as the MVP with 1 SB ring and a quarter billion in earnings. Eventually he'll get what he wants.
  6. Maybe Rodgers can threaten to retire unless GB redoes his deal to a 1 year deal that makes him a free agent after 2021, no franchise tag allowed. Basically do what Brady did.
  7. We also really didn't score much on offense against them. It was pretty clear that they were the better team both times. Hopefully we can get a player or two to tip the scales!
  8. Same! The part about it being fun to see was the idea of Rodgers for Wilson, just for the storylines there.
  9. Brady did his best to lose the NFC Title Game. Part of me wondered if he was just tossing picks on purpose, it was that bad.
  10. 49ers should offer: Bosa Jimmy G (has anyone heard from him lately, BTW?) 3rd overall 2nd round pick $100
  11. Here's a crazy statement: I would not trade Allen for Rodgers That's a lot of fun to say! that would be incredible to see!
  12. It's incredible how badly they drafted in 2020. For a team that never signs free agents they need to hit on the draft.
  13. I wonder sometimes about these teams... If you know you have a real issue with Rodgers AND you love your young QB so much, you'll never be able to cash in and get a boatload in return more than you will now. By digging in, the Packers lose. Rodgers can just retire.
  14. that FG was such a wimpy move AND made no sense... Worst case scenario, you miss on 4th down, and Brady gets the ball inside his own 10, probably his own 5, and plays super conservative and you end up getting it back at midfield with another shot to win. As soon as that FG was kicked the refs calling a timely PI came into play, and that's exactly what happened.
  15. I was thinking from Green Bay's perspective. This way they would have the #2 overall pick to take a safety for that defense!
  16. Tebow has as many playoff wins as an NFL QB as Lamar Jackson It's not like he never did anything! Madden even included "Tebowing" that season! LOL
  17. Jets would make more sense for Rodgers than Miami. Now, If I'm Jacksonville do I make a phone call?
  18. I could see Rodgers just retiring and hosting Jeopardy He's got plenty of $$ and Green Bay just refuses to actually go for it all, preferring to halfway everything. Drafting Love was totally, completely stupid. If Love was a 3rd rounder or less, OK then MAYBE it makes sense. But for a team in the NFC, where there are only a few real contenders, to not use your high picks on playmakers to WIN something now is totally indefensible. The plan is to have Love for the QB "in a few years" and they use prime assets to get that guy in when they can't quite seem to get over the NFC Title Game hump? Drafting Love was guaranteed to anger Rodgers, plus they get nothing for that 1st round pick for years.
  19. He'll never get the chance... As soon as things start going sideways he'll retire midseason due to "health concerns"
  20. every time I see one of those E60 draft shows I want all the guys on there. Kwity Paye was the latest one. He would be perfect for our DL! Probably will be gone way before we could even move up, though.
  21. The Packers seem to be determined to pretend that they aren't in a SB window. They don't really want to go for it.
  22. age 37 isn't what it used to be. a QB playing at a top level at age 37 could easily have 5 more great seasons: 37 38 39 40 41 Maybe even another 1-2, depending on injuries and avacado smoothies.
  23. I can see it being kind of delicate... "If we can't get any other option at QB, Jimmy, we're interested in bringing you back. Will you take a pay cut, BTW?" Every team always gets the guy they wanted all along, so this would probably have to wait until after the draft to make sense.
  24. Packers said "no thanks, we are determined to waste the remainder of Rodgers career." Brady only had 3 SB rings at age 37. Josh might just be getting warmed up!
  25. For what it's worth, Aaron Donald was part of a defense that basically shut Brady and the Patriots down in the Super Bowl. The score was 3-0 in the 4th quarter. Rams offense lost them that game. Rams almost won a Super Bowl because of their defense if Goff could make a play somewhere. Also, most forgettable/boring Super Bowl ever. It's ALWAYS great to have amazing players. As for the term "luxury pick" I've never liked it. That's Bengals type thinking. Existence is fine, winning a Super Bowl is a "luxury." The whole league is a "luxury" so go get great players and win titles!
