  1. What about this: 3 way trade between the Texans, Packers and Jets: Jets get: Aaron Rodgers Packers get: Watson Texans get: Jets 2021 1st round pick (2nd overall) Jets 2021 1st round pick (23rd overall) Sam Darnold Jordan Love Packers 2021 1st round pick (29 overall) Packers 2022 1st round pick Packers 2023 1st round pick. Jets give up Darnold and 2 1sts for Rodgers. Packers give up Rodgers, Love and 3 1sts for Watson. Texans end up with 5 1st round picks and Sam Darnold and Love. That trade hurts a bit for the Packers, but they get an elite talent at QB to put on an already good team. I bet the televangelist running the Texans would say "NOPE! Watson plays here or for nobody!"
  2. Texans win any trade they make, and I don't worry about long-term precedent. That organization sounds so dysfunctional that it's a rare situation. Any trade that Houston would go for if they decided to make a trade would be ridiculous, and would get rid of a headache while infusing a HUGE amount of talent and draft picks into the organization.
  3. Don't know a ton about him, but be sounds interesting from what I'm reading.
  4. Playing against Brady in a single-elimination game gets into guys' heads. It's one thing to play him in October, where you're guaranteed a game next week no matter what. the aura is there, but not the same way. But when it's the playoffs or Super Bowl, it is very very hard to beat his teams, because they will not beat themselves.
  5. Texans win any conceivable Watson trade, given the ridiculous return they can expect. Figure out a way to turn this into a win for your pathetic organization if you're the Texans. You have no draft picks, you have a priest and a 65 year old first time head coach running the show. Any current or former star player is unloading on your organization. Trying to force Watson to play is not going to end well. BUT Accepting reality and cashing in enormously is the move here. Which means they will force Watson to join a prayer circle and play for the Texans in 2021. And it will get very ugly, very quickly, and put a spotlight on what a disaster that team has become.
  6. Chiefs are a finesse team of trash talkers and front runners. They are like a more cocky version of the old Manning Colts teams.
  7. The issue I have with the refs is that calls are totally inconsistent, from week to week and even in the games. Either way, Tampa was clearly the better team and they won, which as much as I can't stand Brady takes a lot of the sting out of seeing him win. I turned the game off with 2 minutes to go. Couldn't watch the trophy presentation. Still, a lot of those NE teams won by field goals or stupidity by the other team (Seattle, Atlanta). Those were gut wrenching. Plus it's NE. This one was "meh" because Tampa obviously was the better team, so you really can't be too mad.
  8. You really can't go wrong drafting solid linemen. OL play around the league is not great, so it's a huge advantage when you have good lines.
  9. I didn't say we didn't have any size. I want to ADD more to what we have! Especially at DT. Can you honestly say that the thought of a 340+ pound DT lining up on our DL next year doesn't make you smile?
  10. Interesting, but I think Darnold gets another shot to start somewhere next year.
  11. the Offside that basically took a FG off the board and made it 14-3 instead of 10-3. Just a total killer. KC could have easily gone into the half down 10-6, if not for mental errors.
  12. It has to feel a little weird though, for a guy like Shady. At least if he carried the ball a few times in either Super Bowl, but he didn't even play.
  13. Well, next year Darnold will be watching with 1 fewer guest, but he'll get to cheer his buddy on in the big game!
  14. The thought of Slayton and Oliver crashing the Super Bowl party week 1 in Tampa is amazing!
  15. Last night we saw what many commentators call "Sugar Rush Pat" where he just panics out there. This is Big Ben vs Peyton Manning all over again. Here's the biggest difference that I see: Mahomes plays a fancy game and things have mostly been easy for him. Take that away and get into a dogfight and it's panic time. Why aren't guys wide open by 10 yards?! Allen plays a grittier game and has had to scratch, fight and claw early in his career. This year, he gets some help and look at the difference. When things get ugly with a fancy passer (Peyton Manning, Pat Mahomes) you have no chance. With a guy like Allen you still might lose, but he can play ugly. Even Tom Brady failed in NE (twice) when his team was all about offense and fireworks and became 1 dimensional. When NE went back to a balanced attack they won again. TB was the same way. With Mahomes contract kicking in they are going to lose some guys in KC. Same thing happened to another "next dynasty" in Seattle. they failed to go back to back SB wins and never really recovered.
  16. I don't think we are that far away on the front. Additions: (very little to no cap cost to speak of) Slayton, the monster 340+ pound DT in the draft Star comes back, hopefully having added a few pounds That alone helps the DL. Then we need to figure out edge pressure. Epenesa made some plays this year, and with an offseason of NFL training should add a little size and strength. Oliver showed some flashes, but he need a big monster at DT to swallow up blocks. Star did that pretty well, and we can draft a guy as well. People forget that DL tend to need a season or two before they really come into their own. I think both Oliver and Epenesa are talented guys who can make strides next year. At LB we need some speed and ferocity. Tampa's LBers hit hard and nasty. Edmunds is big put doesn't play with that edge that makes you fear him. That's a huge need, and the biggest question mark.
  17. I don't think so... From a practical perspective there's not much left from when Beane and McDermott were there. Plus, the team is in a new phase of the build now.
  18. No, and the more I think of it the more I'm glad we saw the game we did. Mostly it has to do with Allen. If we had been there and the exact game happened everyone would have been piling on Allen. "sugar rush" is back! Told you! He melted down, etc. We just saw the half a billion dollar man look like rookie Josh Allen trying to throw to no names at WR while he runs for his life. Actually, I think Allen would have done a little better because he's had to do that more, but still. Mahomes looked like rookie Allen last night. Sugar Rush Pat should be a thing now, IMO. So the game served a great purpose, and it knocked the Chiefs down a peg. So much for the dynasty.
  19. As many of you know, one of my favorite sights is a 350 pound DT in the red, white and blue. It's been too long, so unless Star is putting in the work in the dining room this offseason, it's time to find some guys with God-given enormousness. Size is uncoachable. The anger and rage will come the first time they drive the William/Walden section of the 90 on the way to the Galleria. Last night's game reaffirmed, once again, the importance of line play. If we had been in the game it would have looked pretty much the same EXCEPT everyone would be all over Josh Allen for "melting down" and saying it should have been Mahomes and it would have been different, the Bills were pretenders, etc. Now everyone can plainly see: even the new Rodgers (supposed "best QB in the league") needs blocking and a defense on the other side. Luckily, there are some compelling prospects in this draft, and I think it is imperative that we get one large angry man on the OL and one on the DL. The perfect fits, both 2nd or 3rd rounders: Aaron Banks, Notre Dame guard. 330 pounds, tough, smart, strong. Good run blocker. Should be there in the 2nd or maybe even 3rd round. Can play either guard spot. Tedarall Slayton, Florida DT. My prototypical favorite DT. 6'5'', 343 pounds of run stuffing, double team block taking behemoth! Put him next to Oliver and all of a sudden Oliver can get some pass rush because the big man is eating up blocks. Oh, and you want to run up the middle? LOL Good luck, because we can put Star and Slayton next to each other in those situations. And if the big man gets free up the middle because you focus on Oliver? Bad things, man... The Bills have a lot of pieces in place. But what we need now is some more size and strength on the lines, and a commitment to imposing our will and being physical. Added bonus: for 4 years we're not spending big $$ on guards or DT's.
  20. Mahomes has had some pretty nasty injuries already. Allen is pretty healthy. Today this doesn't sound as crazy.
  21. Turned the game off with 2 minutes to go... Can't stomach watching Brady celebrate. Please no more Brady Super Bowls
  22. As much as I hate Brady this one doesn't feel as gut wrenching because Arians is a great dude and KC is a bunch of idiots
