  1. "could've" summarizes the "MVP" Aaron Rodgers entire career. 20 other QBs didn't win. Brady did.
  2. I just want to hear Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" in the stadium this year when the Bills host the Texans and have a huge lead going into the 4th quarter.
  3. I for one and happy that Brady is coming back. Gives more teams and players a chance to build their legacies with wins over him.
  4. Here's another angle to keep in mind... If the Texans dig in you can 100% except all sorts of stories in the sports media about what a creepy dysfunctional place it is to play, aided behind the scenes by Watson and current and former players looking for a little payback. What percentage of NFL fans do you think realize that a team chaplain who seemed to constantly cause problems is now running a football team? the spotlight on the televangelist will get brighter, along with all the dumb and dysfunctional things they've done. That, coupled with a miserable losing record is going to make things really nasty there.
  5. Injuries can take a real toll, just ask Newton. People forget just a few years ago he was league MVP of a 15-1 team and looked unstoppable. It fell apart FAST. This is why guys like Brady, who never really relied on freakish athleticism, last longer. As long as he can read a defense and throw he can play. He doesn't run, doesn't really move, and almost never takes a hit.
  6. America's Team in the red, white and blue wasn't in it this year. Out loveable group of scrappy underdogs came up just short this time around. Also, Tom Brady is a movie people have seen 1000 times already. A lot of people expected KC to win in a blowout. It wasn't that compelling before, and the actual game was awful to watch. Boring. One sided. Brady again (yay!). Refs threw the flags they needed to early to ensure a large TB lead.
  7. There is a big difference between being a man of faith (lots of guys in the NFL are) and being a creepy cult-like figure who somehow goes from team chaplain to running the team.
  8. Huge dudes who are unmovable and play with an edge travel well. No matter the offensive game plan, no matter the weather, the time of day, the stakes. It's like putting a brick wall right in the middle of the DL that the offense has to go around or run though, if they are determined to fail. Nervous energy only helps.
  9. 6'4, 357?! YES! I just want at least one of these massive DTs to free up Oliver to cause mayhem. Plus, like I said... If the big man gets loose... "Jim Nance: Brady, under pressure.... WOW what a hit by Bohanna!" "Romo: he just crushed him, Jim!" Makes me smile every time. It's not too far-fetched, either. Beane and McDermott have tried to bring in NT type guys to play on the DL, Star being the highest paid example.
  10. Brady is someone Allen studies and looks up to. You can already see it in his game. Be smart, survive. Allen has learned to take the small stuff this season, and look what it did for the entire offense.
  11. Most QBs are rhythm passers... You know by the first couple of drives the type of game most QBs will have.
  12. Culley and the televangelist are both embarrassing hires for the Texans. They have put themselves in this position. Watson wanted Bienemy, so hiring the guy who was thought of as a top-notch coaching prospect (however he interviews) AT LEAST gets the preacher some good PR and makes Watson happy. Instead, they made the most ridiculous hire they could in a guy who at age 65 has never even been a coordinator, and wasn't a serious candidate anywhere. they HAD to know how this was going to go.
  13. Great, high fireworks offenses really seem to struggle in the SB lately. Even last year, KC was held down for 3/4 of the game until Mahomes connected with Hill on a ridiculous low % play that if it didn't work would have been game. I think part of it is that "fancy offenses" tense up when it doesn't go well. They are used to everything working, and when it doesn't they get tight.
  14. RIP Marty... Awesome guy and one of the truly underrated coaches of all time. WP should be ashamed of themselves for a headline like that. EDIT: if you click the link the headline is already different. I think they heard some feedback on the original.
  15. Mahomes has really taken a beating early in his career. Eventually those take their toll, no matter how gifted you are. Allen has stayed fairly healthy, as QBs go. Let's hope he can continue to protect himself, which he did a very good job of this season.
  16. I was fully expecting the mixture of darkness, hopelessness and irritation that usually comes with a Tom Brady SB win... I turned the game off with 2 minutes to go, unable to watch the trophy presentation that I typically enjoy. But I was surprised to find in the aftermath that the game actually made me feel BETTER. It's weird. I think it's because we have a great team to cheer FOR. And it wasn't New England and Belichick in the SB. Bruce Arians, Tampa, new guys. Not the same old boring team winning year after year by a field goal. And we have Josh Allen and an exciting, great young team. WE can be the ones to knock the champs off, and that includes KC in the AFC. Totally changes everything. I'm not "hoping KC wins so 20 years from now when the GOAT talk comes up..." Screw KC! WE will win! We've got a real shot. And Josh Allen is definitely good enough to win a SB or 2.
  17. If the cost of stadium materials is anything like buying lumber at Lowes or Home Depot this might not be the time
  18. It's weird... Brady won but I don't feel that bad. I'm not glad but after the way the Chiefs acted in the AFC Title Game I'm not sad either. Plus it was Tampa and Arians not NE and Belichick. Will I actually root for him vs NE next season? I cannot wait for that game. It's going to be an existential moment.
  19. Something has to be done with/about the stadium at some point in the relatively near future, so I think the timing is based on that.
  20. Yeah, that makes some sense. The preacher is in a tough spot, because that team is horrible and will continue to be horrible with a ridiculous HC hire and no draft picks. What free agent is going to want to go there under these conditions? You just went 4-12 with Watson. There's not much to work with in Houston. He could cash in on Watson and get back a whole bunch of talent and picks. Or use some of the picks to trade for rostered players on other teams uninvolved with the Watson trade.
  21. Yup, and when he faced the kind of pressure Allen faced, we saw Sugar Rush Pat
  22. That's why I think the Texans would win any trade. Watson is talented, no doubt, but the return they would get would be nuts. Would you rather have Jordan Love, Sam Darnold and 5 1st round picks in the next 2 seasons, or a malcontent version of Watson?
