  1. I wouldn't sign a malcontent, washed up, slow RB that has been totally ineffective on 2 teams now since holding out an entire season for more money if he would come here for a nickel. We've got a guy in Singletary who is process personified, and is a better back today than Bell. I'm excited to see how his work with a speed coach pays off. Bills have dodged 2 disasters now in AB and Bell. Sometimes not getting a guy in FA/trade is a blessing.
  2. Although I would like to see Star sitting down to an all you can buffet to train for the season, I am very happy he is back. The defense is better with him, and he will help Oliver free up to make plays. Whatever he weighs is what McDermott and company asked him to do, so since they seem to have a good idea of how to run the team I'll defer to them, even though I love my 350 pound DTs.
  3. Best line I've heard in a while! LOL It's like NFL defenses said "challenge accepted!" right after that.
  4. I say we put the teams back in bubble wrap like last season until the real games start. Watching guys around the league go down in preseason games is going to suck.
  5. If Andy Reid coaches 6 more seasons and wins 12 games a season, he will sit at 293 wins all time at age 69. Bill Belichick is 69 right now and has 280 career wins after 20 years with Tom Brady as his QB. Another way to put that is that Andy Reid will almost certainly have more career wins than Belichick at the same point in their head coaching careers. But yes, overrated!
  6. Rams about to trade their 2037 and 2038 1st and 2nd round picks, leaving them without a 1st or 2nd until 2039.
  7. That makes sense... I am always amazed at how much work it is for professional athletes to eat enough to replace calories. Here's an article that details The Rock's eating regimen. As much as I love food, just the eating part sounds exhausting! https://manofmany.com/lifestyle/fitness/the-rock-diet-and-workout-plan
  8. LOL That's my reaction. I don't think he would have worked out well with this team if Andy Reid is too tough for him. Our RB (Singletary) is working with a speed coach trying to get faster and now looks like someone from a terminator movie. Total dedication, 100% commitment. Who knows if you can actually get faster, but if you can, he will. Then there's Le'Veon... the guy who has a problem with every team he's on. I'll give him a pass with Gase, who might be insane, but Tomlin and now Reid? Maybe he should have taken the big $$ from the Steelers and not sat out an entire season? Instead, he sits out a year and comes back slow as molasses and (allegedly) not wanting to put the work in. He was so bad with the Jets that it was pathetic.
  9. Baker could be the 3rd best QB in his own division. Lamar was a recent league MVP and Burrow looked really good last year in limited action with almost no help on an awful team.
  10. "dieting..." It seems like this regime wants all of our DL to "slim down." They even mentioned it with Rosseau. I wonder if that's why Epenesa was so thin last year.
  11. Kelce should focus on not dropping balls in big games when his QB needs a lifeline. More than once in this past Super Bowl Kelce was open for a first down and dropped a perfect ball that would have moved the chains.
  12. We've got Jones, a guy who looks more like a 3rd term congressman than an NFL QB, and Wilson, who looks like a 10th grader, in our division at QB. Seriously... One hit by a 300+ Lb DL and Wilson will go straight to IR. He looks like he weighs 150 pounds soaking wet
  13. I would rather see video of Star eating an entire large works pizza and a box of wings in preparation for being the anchor at DT
  14. The top ones for me have already been mentioned: Moulds Schobel Fred Jackson But I would also add Ruben Brown. Brown is already recognized as great, but if he was part of a top offense he would be considered one of, if not the, top guard of his era.
  15. After suffering through such a long drought era of Bills football, we have a legitimate Super Bowl contending team, a top GM/HC combo, a top 10, maybe even top 5 QB in the league who is just starting his career, and now QBs sign here as backups to benefit from working with Bills offensive coaches and rehab their image/career... It's truly amazing what Beane and McDermott have built here.
  16. Rivera and Fitz are a great combo! Both are really smart, likeable and pretty funny guys too. Are we sure this wasn't Fitzpatrick putting the guys up to this to goof with Rivera?
  17. I wouldn't want my QB dictating front office personnel, so I get GB not doing that. That said, use crisis as an opportunity. Offer Rodgers to Seattle for Wilson straight up and see what happens. GB might seem to be getting the better of that deal due to the age difference, but IMO Rodgers is the better QB and could still easily play 6-7 years, so the age difference isn't as stark. Wilson played college ball in Wisconsin, so there's a connection there. Wilson wants to be more out East, Rodgers want out West. Both QBs seem to want a change of scenery. Green Bay looks like a winner getting a younger, Super Bowl winning QB with local ties, who has also played in more Super Bowls than Rodgers. Seattle gets the league MVP with a chip on his shoulder for a good 5 years, maybe 6-7. Seattle looks like the winner getting the reigning league MVP and avoiding a similar situation with Wilson in the future. Everyone wins, which is why it won't happen. Instead, pride and ego will make Green Bay dig in and get nothing, the team will win 4-5 games with Love/Bortles, and Lefleur, who probably had no say in any of this, will take the fall. No matter what, the front office will want to look like they were "right" so zero change the GM gets fired, and they don't have an owner. It'll be the HC not developing Love the right way, and they'll find some other coordinator to come in and really "make it all work."
  18. My favorite Buddy Nix quote of all time came from one of his sparring sessions on WGR with Howard Simon where they were trying to get him to admit that the team needed a QB: "We can just let this thing go dead..." Second only to him kicking off his introductory press conference as GM by saying that nobody ever accused him of being the smartest person in the room and that he hadn't really thought of being a GM. The Bills were a joke back then. We've come a LONG way. I'll say this for Buddy Nix: he is a genuine guy who is pretty straightforward. Doug Whaley has done a number of totally unprofessional things for a guy in a senior position, this being the latest.
  19. as a fan, he's a lot of fun because he's out of his mind and it's the Lions but I can't imagine having to take him seriously as a player or assistant coach Can you imagine? The coach stops practice right in the middle of drills and screams at the players: "You hear that? Listen!" "That is a cardinal singing in the tree! Carry on..."
  20. I can't believe he is so young still... Guy just turned 23 in May I think he will continue to progress, and in terms of build and size, he will mature as well and become more dominant.
  21. Here's a crazy idea... Instead of going from zero to 2 spring football leagues every time, why not try ONE? USFL has brand recognition and some great history, and spring football can be a lot of fun. But every time it's been tried lately it's multiple leagues, which spreads the talent pool thinner and waters down the product, plus cannibalizes the viewing audience. Put all of the talent, money, players, coaches, executives, and broadcast partners who want to make spring football work together in one league and really try it.
  22. A strong arm isn't just about those long throws, although they are fun to watch. Velocity is also about getting the ball from your hand to the WR as close to immediately as possible once you make the decision to throw. Windows close fast in the NFL.
  23. If the Packers trade for Julio Jones all of a sudden this will all be "a huge media creation" and the problem would go right away
  24. Pride gets in the way and everyone loses... Except Rodgers loses the least. Yes, he has to give up the $$ but he has a ton and he will eventually play somewhere. the real losers in this are Lafleur, who might have to go back to getting McVay his coffee after a season with Love at QB, and the GM, who will have bumbled his way out of a HOF QB with nothing to show for it. I think I feel the worst for Lefleur, who has no control over any of this and will take the fall.
  25. Can't imagine voluntarily going to the Texans right now.
