It's amazing how far the game has come since then, especially when it comes to stadiums, but also offense. AFC Title Game and it looked worse than most high school fields. Also, back then, if you were down 10 in the 4th quarter it was pretty much over.

Reid has 221 but it will still be a tall hill. Reid is 6 years younger, though, with Mahomes in his prime, while Belichick is at the tail end of his career without a top notch QB. 17 games a season also provides more of a chance to catch up.

Open air didn't slow down Josh Allen and the record setting passing game last season, so I don't think it will going forward. The K-Gun did fine too. The whole weather thing is totally overblown. Football is meant to be played in the elements. I also think that modern NFL players are less affected by it. Back in the day you used to see the Dolphins huddled in their coats shivering, almost putting on a show about how cold they were. You don't see that as much now. From time to time there's a particular player it seems to affect (Kirk Cousins, for example) but it's not the same as it was.

I think a big part of Brady's success, especially with NE, is that most football coaches early in his career were totally cookie cutter, interchangeable pieces that never brought an original perspective to the game. Brady's opponents were so often mediocre, central casting football coaches who could win 6-9 games a season and whose rationale for doing things was because "it's what you do." Run and stop the run You don't go for it on 4th down (that has changed a little finally) You don't just keep passing, you need to "establish the run" (also changing) You don't try to go undefeated. Rest your starters or risk injury (Kudos to both NE and the Giants for playing that game for real) You've gotta ___________________ in this situation All wimpy, super conservative mindsets that the other team LOVES. You stop a team and it's 4th and short. What do YOU want to happen? You WANT them to punt. It's like some unspoken gentleman's agreement. As much as I despise NE, Brady and Belichick, you have to give them credit for turning a lot of these things on their head long before other coaches caught on. You could see the rage in Peyton Manning's eyes when coach "thousand yard stare" pulled him halfway through the game when the Colts could have gone undefeated as well. "Can't risk injury." Wimpy, "safe" and uninspiring. He could have been the second coach in history to go 16-0. Instead he's a footnote. Too afraid to go for it. When it comes down to it, Belichick and Brady had the guts to go for things, as much as I hate saying it. Take Brady's free agency at age 42 and starting over on a new team. High chance of embarrassing himself, but he went for it anyway. The lesson from NE and Brady is this: we are capable of a LOT more than we think, whatever it is we do.

Buffalo's weather during the football season is no worse than New England, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, NJ Jets/Giants, Baltimore, or any other northern city. The rare big snow events are just what everyone remembers. It's just as likely to be 35-40 degrees for a January game as a blizzard. The KC/NE AFC Title game a couple years ago was forecast to be around 0 but by the time it came around it was in the mid 20's. Still every bit as cold as it could be here at that time of year. And that's in Kansas City. I'm of the opinion that football is an outdoor game. The weather is part of the game, and makes different places unique. Every dome to me is like playing in an airplane hangar, except Minnesota and LA, which would likely cost as much as 3 of these proposed Bills stadiums. I get that not everyone agrees, and that's fine. I just think that domes ruin the sport. Also, cold weather doesn't really affect the passing game. Peyton Manning had his best seasons ever in Denver, Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre put up all-time type stats in Green Bay (the Frozen Tundra) and Brady did OK in New England. If you're good, you're good. Did the weather stop Josh Allen last season from breaking all sorts of franchise passing records?

is the new stadium being built in the Adirondacks? Seriously though, I'm just happy it's open air! Aside from the $2+ billion mega structures like in LA, domes are awful. Saints games look like they are being played in a basement where someone left half the lights on accidently.

Broncos.. I think it was pretty well known that he wanted to go there He wanted to follow his buddy Peyton and one-up him again!

Tasker was a great player for the Bills and I also enjoy his commentary now. It's also pretty cool that he stayed right here and lives in WNY, like many other former Bills and especially Sabres players. I wonder if Belichick, being the student of the game that he is and having studied the Bills quite a bit in his time as a DC, saw what Tasker could do and decided to find someone like that for his own offense, leading to a lot of the early success of NE's short passing game that teams had so much trouble stopping.

Lamar is really good, and I like to see football teams play the game in different ways. It's what makes football so much fun to watch, follow, and discuss.

Well-said on the $$ a 50,000 salary for 25 years is 1.25 million dollars, or about 3 years salary for a fringe roster guy in the NFL. By age 25 or 26 a mid round draft pick will have earned as much or more than most Americans earn in their lifetimes.

There is such a fine line between winning and losing in the playoffs. Browns, Colts and Ravens ALL could easily have advanced further last year, except for a few plays here and there that cost them. In that scenario, a wild card like Lamar can strike a defense at any time. The Ravens are never out of it with him, and that's worth a lot. Lamar can do nothing for 3 quarters then suddenly become unstoppable. He's a special and unique talent.

I think it helps players to understand/know that the coaches, front office, team ownership, etc. have taken the vaccine. It won't convince everyone, but it has to move the needle a bit, the more they see that the people running the show have already done it.

I remember when Aaron Rodgers couldn't win in the playoffs too.. Oh wait... LOL But seriously, Lamar is a dangerous QB, and the Ravens were a few plays from being in the AFC Title Game. Bills were the better team, but IMO the Ravens were #3 in a pretty loaded AFC. No reason to change what they are doing. People just want to criticize Lamar because he is unique. The Ravens did the smart thing: design an offense totally around him and go all-in.

I think he's a decent QB. I wouldn't say top 10, but he can make some plays and challenge defenses. That division is brutal. Between SF, Seattle and the Rams there is not a lot of room there, barring injuries. In the 7 team format it's not crazy to think all 4 NFC West teams could make the playoffs this season, especially since the rest of the conference is meh at best or has 1 good team in each division.
