  1. These threads are proof positive that the people who post here are a TINY fraction of Bills fans. So many (on these boards) want to hide at 1PM and never have night games... "We never win in Prime Time" "I need to have my warm milk and be tucked into bed by 7:00" THIS is Bills Mafia? The crazed fans who show up at the airport in the middle of the night? LOL If you want to be a real Super Bowl contender, you are going to have (lots) of night games because the entire country wants to see your team in Prime Time. The league wants to showcase your team and your QB. That's a good thing. We had plenty of 1:00 games for 20 years. I just think that threads like this (and the dome/no dome threads) make it seem like the majority want one thing, when it's the majority of a very small portion of the fanbase that still uses message boards, so it's deceiving. Nothing against message boards, we all obviously enjoy these forums, but we're a handful of people in the grand scheme. Most sports fans WANT their team on prime time in the bright lights. Or else why bother? Don't be afraid of being a top team! this is what we always dreamed of for 20 freaking years of watching drought era teams that struggled to score 17 points and when 200 yards passing for a game was a huge accomplishment. Bring on a home playoff night game!
  2. Baker is about to go be mediocre somewhere else unless the Browns play nice!
  3. Yes, and Arians and Tommy Brady brought it on themselves by bringing the guy in. Now it's coach V player. Maybe even Brady V another coach.
  4. If I could write the script for the end of the Bucs season even I would think this is too much to hope for! I hope the issue gets bigger and bigger, divides the locker room, makes Arians look bad, drags in Arians, Brady, and Brady's voodoo doctor into the mess and becomes THE story as they prepare for the playoffs. As long as the Bucs don't go to the Super Bowl this is delicious. The good part is that there is NO WAY AB comes back to the Bucs for this playoff run, which really hurts their chances. The Bucs are coming totally unraveled with injuries and drama at just the right time.
  5. Anyone but the Bucs and Brady.
  6. You can see how much it has affected the Packers... 12-3, best record in the NFL, #1 seed locked up last week. 4 INT all season, with 2 in the first game. Rodgers is totally crushing his team.
  7. That's probably fair. I was at one time an enormous Rex fan, and I hope he comes back to coaching just because he's a personality. Gase is the perfect example, you're right about that!
  8. I disagree. Everyone who has played for Belichick, for example, talks about how he teaches defense. Yes, some of that is scheme, but getting the players to understand who goes where and why is crucial. You're either learning or you're forgetting when it comes to the NFL. Rex Ryan is a defensive genius, but his defenses are so complicated that without veterans it doesn't work because he isn't good at teaching the scheme. The best coaches in the NFL are teachers. It's said so often it's a cliche at this point.
  9. He's hoping to say "hey, I'm willing to settle for 10% if you sign TODAY. that's only 600 million dollars!" Gotta leave some room to negotiate
  10. Your proposal is acceptable.
  11. Far too long... LOL It is what it is. I envy those who "feel OK about Brady now that he's off the Patriots" I tried that... I really did. No dice. Brady must lose!
  12. Agree with the move. Burrow and his WRs should sit and rest up for the playoffs. Nothing to gain of any real importance by playing.
  13. If I'm Daboll I would want the Jacksonville job. 1. You get Lawrence to work with. 2. You're basically guaranteed a few years after Urban, as long as you are somewhat competent and not a jerk. 3. If you win on ANY level, even go 8-8 you look like a genius.
  14. It was so close to happening (Bills in AFC North) when the NFL went to 32 teams and realigned divisions, but Mr. Wilson vetoed it because of the Dolphins "rivalry" I'm pretty sure that when the NFL went from West-Central-East to the 4 divisions per conference the Bills were penciled in to the AFC North.
  15. Football is an outdoor sport IMO. Weather is part of the game. But I do wish that we had moved into the AFC North as was proposed (with Baltimore going to the AFC East) Bills Browns Steelers Bengals THAT would have been epic! Such local rivalries.
  16. PSE spokesman (can't remember his name) was on WGR talking about all this, and he said the fan survey they did clearly indicated a preference for an open air stadium. I think we should remember that this board is a tiny minority of Bills fans.
  17. Harbaugh is a really good coach. IMO really good coaches will succeed anywhere because the skills are transferrable. The limiting factor in the NFL is having a QB (see Saban in Miami). Plus, Saban had NFL experience working on Belichick's staff in Cleveland. On the topic of hot seats, I can't imagine why the Giants would keep Joe Judge. He's been terrible and he apparently grates on players and coaches.
  18. I think the Pegulas are going for the feeling of standing (or sitting I guess) on an outdoor covered porch for the fans. The field would be open but the seats covered.
  19. Lamar Jackson is a dynamic player that you have to game plan for. He also won an MVP. My concern with him is that he is a smaller body type and takes a lot of hits running the ball. But still, he is electric and deserves to be paid. Lamar is special and unique. Baker is just a guy. There's nothing at all that is special about him. "He's tough" I guess, but lots of guys are tough. It's the NFL. Baker's not a bust, but he's also nothing special. Very Alex Smith-like in that you could do some winning with him in the right spot, but his attitude needs to improve IMO. Baker thinks he's a gunslinger but he is really suited to be a checkdown, game manager who hands the ball off and doesn't get his team beat. Can he handle that? The game "going through your RB" is not why you draft a QB #1 overall, so he's a tremendous disappointment in that respect. But he's serviceable enough to get you to the divisional round and lose to the Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, or Bengals over the next handful of years. Sucks to be a Browns fan watching Burrow and knowing THAT is what a #1 overall pick QB looks like. Baker is the 3rd best QB in his own division, and that's only because Big Ben looked 73 years old the past 2 seasons and can't play anymore.
  20. Well, the Chicago job technically isn't open, so it would be bad form to contact Frazier about it. BUT theoretically would Dungy, Riddick and Frazier be POSSIBLY interested in teaming up somewhere possibly maybe is a different case from "being contacted about a HC job."
  21. Cincy should rest their starters. There's no reason to risk injury, and Burrow did tweak his knee a little last game, although it sounds minor. Having these guys test positive now is a huge plus, because they're good for the playoffs (90 day testing holiday).
  22. I can see how coaching college would be amazing on a winning program. Colleges are fun places, you're a huge star on campus and around town, and you win bowl games and national titles. College coaches make some pretty good money too, and have total control over the roster and typically huge talent advantages most weeks. But still, somewhere in that competitive side of you I would think there would be a "yeah but" because you're not doing it on the biggest stage. I think most coaches are interchangeable for the most part, aside from the truly great ones, who are great because they connect to people and can TEACH what they know to others. Coaching IS teaching, and vice versa. That's why guys like Urban Meyer, who got by on just having superior talent, fail in the NFL once they actually need to communicate with players and work with them. You can be the smartest coach on Earth, but if you can't teach your system in a way that players can understand (or feel that doing so is "beneath you") and execute none of that matters.
  23. I'm not a fan of this 17th game, although I thought I would be. This feels like a preseason finale. Actually, the entire Week 18 slate of games, except for a couple, is pretty pointless feeling. Not at all what the NFL intended. There's hardly any drama to this week's games, and they went all out with Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders expecting a bunch of high stakes games. I think it's because the NFC is a steaming pile of dog doo except for a few great teams, which makes for a ton of gross games that mean nothing. Who could have foreseen that with 7 playoff teams per conference AND an extra game that pretty much everything is already settled before week 18 even kicks off? It's really down to 1 spot per conference open and 71 improbable things need to happen to even change anything.
  24. He woke up feeling dangerous. It happens. The real question is why these guys get up so early, even when they have night games. That just seems counterproductive.
