  1. The worst reason not to make a coaching change is "we've hired too many terrible coaches so we'll stick with this one for the optics of it" As far as Gettleman goes... lots of bad draft picks have set that team up for a rebuild. If you're going to draft a RB #2 overall, he better turn out to be the next Thurman Thomas or Barry Sanders. Thurman Thomas was NFL MVP in 91. That's what you need out of a RB to justify such a high pick.
  2. It's certainly possible. Perhaps a lot more people than we realize are suffering from mental health issues that just never get diagnosed. I'm sure that's also true. When is someone truly mentally ill, and when are they just an a-hole? Or is almost everyone who acts impulsively, destroys every relationship they are involved with (friendships and romantic relationships) and leaves a trail of emotional, career, and financial wreckage behind them everywhere they go actually mentally ill?
  3. It did seem that way... It's been a weird season for sure. It's almost like they're falling victim to not getting as up for regular season games now that they've had a taste of the playoffs. Of course you can't do that and "nobody ever would" (officially) but it's probably human nature after a bunch of playoff runs to view most regular season games as just something to get through until the real games start.
  4. IF he goes anywhere it will be KC or the Rams. I'm not so sure he's "mentally ill" and not just a selfish drama magnet, of which there are many in the world who just don't have millions of dollars and the platform of an NFL player. I'll bet a lot of us know someone very similar to him who just doesn't have the means or money to get this type of attention.
  5. 100% Personally I want the trappings of Prime Time but any playoff win is a good win!
  6. I was initially excited about it, but now that it's here this week feels unnecessary and not all that exciting. Almost every playoff spot is already locked up, although there are some seeding scenarios still up in the air. With only the 1 bye it takes a lot of drama out of this week, because there's not much difference in being the 2 seed or the 3 seed. If it goes chalk you're going to play each other in the divisional round, and yes you'd love to be at home but it's not worth risking injury to your stars in Week 18. Also, it just seems like there's so many terrible games each week, maybe because the NFC overall is awful. There are a few powerhouse teams in the NFC, then a TON of total garbage teams. This seems to lead to weeks where there's a lot of lopsided matchups and not much in the way of exciting games. You know the NFL expected that with the extra week and 7 teams per conference that all sorts of scenarios would still be there and tons of teams would still be alive in week 18 for those last spots. Unfortunately, it's all pretty much wrapped up already, so most of these games are glorified preseason games.
  7. These threads are proof positive that the people who post here are a TINY fraction of Bills fans. So many (on these boards) want to hide at 1PM and never have night games... "We never win in Prime Time" "I need to have my warm milk and be tucked into bed by 7:00" THIS is Bills Mafia? The crazed fans who show up at the airport in the middle of the night? LOL If you want to be a real Super Bowl contender, you are going to have (lots) of night games because the entire country wants to see your team in Prime Time. The league wants to showcase your team and your QB. That's a good thing. We had plenty of 1:00 games for 20 years. I just think that threads like this (and the dome/no dome threads) make it seem like the majority want one thing, when it's the majority of a very small portion of the fanbase that still uses message boards, so it's deceiving. Nothing against message boards, we all obviously enjoy these forums, but we're a handful of people in the grand scheme. Most sports fans WANT their team on prime time in the bright lights. Or else why bother? Don't be afraid of being a top team! this is what we always dreamed of for 20 freaking years of watching drought era teams that struggled to score 17 points and when 200 yards passing for a game was a huge accomplishment. Bring on a home playoff night game!
  8. Yes, and Arians and Tommy Brady brought it on themselves by bringing the guy in. Now it's coach V player. Maybe even Brady V another coach.
  9. If I could write the script for the end of the Bucs season even I would think this is too much to hope for! I hope the issue gets bigger and bigger, divides the locker room, makes Arians look bad, drags in Arians, Brady, and Brady's voodoo doctor into the mess and becomes THE story as they prepare for the playoffs. As long as the Bucs don't go to the Super Bowl this is delicious. The good part is that there is NO WAY AB comes back to the Bucs for this playoff run, which really hurts their chances. The Bucs are coming totally unraveled with injuries and drama at just the right time.
  10. You can see how much it has affected the Packers... 12-3, best record in the NFL, #1 seed locked up last week. 4 INT all season, with 2 in the first game. Rodgers is totally crushing his team.
  11. That's probably fair. I was at one time an enormous Rex fan, and I hope he comes back to coaching just because he's a personality. Gase is the perfect example, you're right about that!
  12. I disagree. Everyone who has played for Belichick, for example, talks about how he teaches defense. Yes, some of that is scheme, but getting the players to understand who goes where and why is crucial. You're either learning or you're forgetting when it comes to the NFL. Rex Ryan is a defensive genius, but his defenses are so complicated that without veterans it doesn't work because he isn't good at teaching the scheme. The best coaches in the NFL are teachers. It's said so often it's a cliche at this point.
  13. He's hoping to say "hey, I'm willing to settle for 10% if you sign TODAY. that's only 600 million dollars!" Gotta leave some room to negotiate
  14. Far too long... LOL It is what it is. I envy those who "feel OK about Brady now that he's off the Patriots" I tried that... I really did. No dice. Brady must lose!
  15. Agree with the move. Burrow and his WRs should sit and rest up for the playoffs. Nothing to gain of any real importance by playing.
  16. If I'm Daboll I would want the Jacksonville job. 1. You get Lawrence to work with. 2. You're basically guaranteed a few years after Urban, as long as you are somewhat competent and not a jerk. 3. If you win on ANY level, even go 8-8 you look like a genius.
  17. It was so close to happening (Bills in AFC North) when the NFL went to 32 teams and realigned divisions, but Mr. Wilson vetoed it because of the Dolphins "rivalry" I'm pretty sure that when the NFL went from West-Central-East to the 4 divisions per conference the Bills were penciled in to the AFC North.
  18. Football is an outdoor sport IMO. Weather is part of the game. But I do wish that we had moved into the AFC North as was proposed (with Baltimore going to the AFC East) Bills Browns Steelers Bengals THAT would have been epic! Such local rivalries.
  19. PSE spokesman (can't remember his name) was on WGR talking about all this, and he said the fan survey they did clearly indicated a preference for an open air stadium. I think we should remember that this board is a tiny minority of Bills fans.
  20. Harbaugh is a really good coach. IMO really good coaches will succeed anywhere because the skills are transferrable. The limiting factor in the NFL is having a QB (see Saban in Miami). Plus, Saban had NFL experience working on Belichick's staff in Cleveland. On the topic of hot seats, I can't imagine why the Giants would keep Joe Judge. He's been terrible and he apparently grates on players and coaches.
  21. I think the Pegulas are going for the feeling of standing (or sitting I guess) on an outdoor covered porch for the fans. The field would be open but the seats covered.
