Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move
TheFunPolice replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Steve Young was on (I think Rich Eisen's show) and related that Tom Brady ran up to him pre game during his last year with the Bucs and the two were chatting about him still playing and he said "Steve! The middle of the field is always open and nobody covers the flats... and nobody can hit me!" Today's passing game is about hitting the open guys in the flats and middle of the field and picking your time to throw one deep once the defense gets frustrated. Worked Brady's whole career but most offenses and QBs are too impatient. Point being... We need guys who get open in the slot. That's where the work is. Having a deep threat is important too, but guys who can get open are always needed. -
agreed... I love the big guys as much as anyone, but big, strong, cheap and young is the way to go at G. T is a much more premier position. I always wonder... if you had a HOF, best guard of all time with elite measurables how much value would that add over the average solid NFL starting guard? Obviously whichever side that guard played on would be solid, but then I would think your other guard would be exploited by the D. great tackles can neutralize a great DE, and we've seen that happen in the league for years.

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
TheFunPolice replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder if part of it is how close Knox and Allen are, with Kincaid coming in as the guy who is going to take Knox's place when he and Allen are best buddies. Should that be it? Of course not and it probably isn't, but part of me wonders if there is a difficult dynamic there. Teams rarely have 2 top TEs at once, so this new guy is going to come in and push one of the QBs best buddies out of town. All I know is I was so excited on draft night to hear about how "whoever lets Allen get Kincaid deserves what they get..." and it's been basically a total dud -
Bills OL is a real strength of the team and we are lucky for it. Many teams have terrible OL

Tee Higgins franchised tagged by Bengals

I thought the Door Dash driver this weekend looked a lot like Mike Brown and this could explain it. I did tip him well. -
Players the Bills have met with at Combine
TheFunPolice replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cleveland could be sitting in a great spot there.... If they trade Garrett they'll have a ton of extra picks. they could draft Carter in that scenario and get younger and cheaper at that spot and still have a star. -
Favre had a pretty serious biceps injury when he was on the Jets too. Either way, I don't think either guy (Favre or Rodgers) really wanted to go to the Jets, regardless of what they say/said. They wanted out of GB and GB wanted to control where they went. GB even put it into the deal that if the Jets traded Favre to the Vikings they had to pay extra picks. Of course, releasing him ended that.

Who was the Bills next best edge rusher after Bruce?
TheFunPolice replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was recently watching some old highlights of Bruce on YouTube, and man... I forgot how he just manhandled guys and rag dolled them on his way to crushing the QB It's a huge dropoff, but Mario Williams was the next best DE we've had. -

Draft both Caldwell and Grant at DT. Both 340+ pounds. Grant late 1st Caldwell 4th round Perfect! -
Another DT trade target - NE’s Davon Godchaux
TheFunPolice replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
There aren't many, and there never were many. They are truly special humans. That's why they bring such joy to our hearts when we see them don the Red White and Blue! But I want a Vita Vea! -
UFL to end traditional onside kicks
TheFunPolice replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
This proposal is way, way too much power in the hands of a ref. It's like letting a ref throw a flag to allow a team to automatically convert an onside kick. Disaster waiting to happen either way. There's 2 possibilities: 1. They'll ref the play like any other 4th and long, meaning there will semi-often be flags thrown that automatically award the ball to the "kicking team" in this scenario. Think of all the possibilities: defensive holding, DPI, roughing the passer, hands to the face, illegal contact, unnecessary roughness for a big hit by a DB. That's a TON of temptation. On the flip side, offensive holding to wipe out the conversion. 2. The league will tell the refs to swallow the whistle for this play, which means defenses will take advantage, hold, etc. knowing the refs won't have the guts to call it. Sort of like a Hail Mary play now. Can you imagine the absolute uproar if a playoff game was decided because a ref threw a flag on the "onside conversion" play that allowed the Chiefs to win a playoff game? LOL It got bad this year. That would be nuclear. -
Another DT trade target - NE’s Davon Godchaux
TheFunPolice replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd like to see 340 pounds, knowing that "that's what he's listed at, but who are we kidding?" Sort of like when Sam Adams and Ted Washington were listed at 345 (ish) -

He's a tad light, but we could work on that if he's willing to put the work in at local pizzerias -
Stafford given permission to seek trade
TheFunPolice replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
No doubt. Stafford would make the Steelers a real contender in the AFC, barring injuries to their defensive players. They would be in the top 4 in the AFC with him, IMO. Chiefs Bills Steelers Ravens -
UFL to end traditional onside kicks
TheFunPolice replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
When it comes to the onside kick, part of me thinks that if you worked all game to build a lead that is more than 1 score and the other team doesn't have time or opportunity to come back then too bad they had all game to figure it out Do the old onside kick and take your chances -

For sure... I just checked the 2025 standings on NFL.com and the Steelers are already penciled in at 9-8 with a wildcard berth. -

The AFC could really use some more QB talent as a conference Soon a 5-12 NFC team will be in the playoffs -
UFL to end traditional onside kicks
TheFunPolice replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Scenario: AFC Championship game. Last game ever at the current Highmark Stadium. 4th quarter. Bills led 28-17 but Chiefs just scored to make it 28-24 with 1:57 left. Romo: Ooooooooohhhhhhh Jimmmmmmmmm the Chiefs trying for the 4th and 12 onside kick! Nance: "Mahomes back to throw, rushed to his right by Garrett... and SACKED! SACKED! A couple of kneel downs and the Bills are going to the Super Bowl!" Romo: "ohhhhhhh wait a minute Jimmmmm... there's a flag!" Do we really need the rest? If this rule existed during the NE* dynasty Brady would have 11 Super Bowl rings -

Hyperbole But hearing about McVay being "burned out" 2-3 years ago was a joke, at least to me. -
Nooooo! Nooooo! Yelled in the bewildered and angry style of Mr. Gower in the alternate reality where George Bailey is asking him whether he knows him after Nick sprays him in the face and tells him to get out of the bar. Obviously he doesn't know George because George doesn't exist, and poor Mr. Gower was never warned by George (who doesn't exist) not to send poison in the medicine bottle when George was a kid... So no. No trade.

We need to draft a gigantic DT this draft. No more excuses!
