  1. Cousins is elite at making money in his career. Guy has banked $161 million already for being totally mediocre. Hey, good for him. It's a business, as we're often told.
  2. Best case scenario, the Browns have the #3 QB in their division, with Burrow and Jackson ahead of him.
  3. Still 2 hours left in this week I less we're going calendar week then we have to tomorrow!
  4. Is this a Zach Ertz thing or is it really going to be announced?
  5. Bruce Arians... LOL That decision will be made way above your head, coach. You have a Super Bowl ring because of Brady. That said, I think Brady really is done with playing. He said something like teammates need him all-in and he can't do that anymore. If Brady isn't 100% locked in, full-on TB12 style with the smoothies, massages, and whatever else then he will fall apart as a 45 year old QB.
  6. I think "we'll see more of this" equates to it happening here and there as opposed to basically never. Plenty of players in Marpet's situation love playing, know they can earn another 50 million or so easily over the next few years, and don't want to stop.
  7. If Brady wants to play somewhere else Tampa Bay will give him the respect of releasing him and not playing games. He won them a Super Bowl. If he wants to walk he walks. Other than playing NE twice a year I don't get why Brady would want to go to the Dolphins.
  8. Hey, good for him! For comparison: the Bills made Jim Kelly the highest paid NFL player in history at one point. Kelly played for 11 years, and made a total of around $28 million in his NFL career. Sidenote: Spotrac is a lot of fun to look at with old contracts. check out some of the star players from back in the day... Keep in mind money started to go up quickly in the later 90's/early 2000's Career earnings/total years/years played Jim Kelly: $28 million (11 years), 1986-1996 Joe Montana $25.5 million (14 years), 1979-1994 Barry Sanders $33.7 million (10 years), 1989-1998 Troy Aikman $55 million (12 years), 1989-2000 Thurman Thomas $23.6 million (13 years), 1988-2000 Bruce Smith $46 million (19 years), 1985-2003 Marpet made over $37 million in 7 seasons as a guard! We're going to see a lot more of this: guys retiring younger because they are set for life and then some early on. I say good for them; we're always told how the NFL is a business and that works both ways.
  9. We can certainly have this discussion about stadium benefits to the community and all that, but let's wait until the new Bills stadium is built and there's a 30 year lease first.
  10. $85 million for 5 years... that might be more than Aikman made in total as a player, and it's just 5 years of broadcasting. You can see the allure for these guys... it's great money for half a year's work a few days a week covering a game you love.
  11. Us in 2030: The Bills can't really get out of Star's contract for another 2 years...
  12. In my best Terrell Owens voice: "That's my DT!"
  13. When I saw Star in person at a local grocery store I was a bit disappointed in his lack of size for a DT. I mean, he's a big guy, and huge for a normal dude, but I want to look at the sheer mass of our 1T DT and say "wow!" in a slightly concerned but still admiring way.
  14. If that's the cleanse I'll still do the yoga and meditation, plus drink lots of water and eat only veggies and citrus fruits for a few days instead. That'll accomplish like 90% of the same thing, right?
  15. He's not going to retire. Didn't he and Woodley break off their engagement because he was too focused on football? I think he will publicly ask for a trade.
  16. They should merge the XFL with USFL and put together a good product, IMO. They need to spend $$ on some names sports fans have heard of before. If there's going to be a pro wrestling match, the Rock vs. Brock Lesnar is going to get a lot more attention than John Smith vs. Tommy White. Find some recently retired NFL QBs or guys who have been on the margins of the league and pay them some serious cash to QB a team. Find either older NFL HC's or up and coming guys and pay them to be the HC. If there are HC/QB combos worth watching people will tune in and the leagues will do well.
  17. This approach to spring football is odd to me. Years of planning and hype seem to be followed by about 5 weeks of football before the leagues give up and go out of business. Then, a couple years later TWO MORE SPRING LEAGUES! Let's try to see if ONE can survive first maybe, instead of two leagues at the same time, competing for a limited number of players, sponsorships, TV time, fan attention, etc.
  18. I feel like no matter how many years go by Star still has 4-5 years left on his deal and it's "next year" when he can be cut for any type of cap savings.
  19. EVEN WITH the defense we played, if we killed 4 seconds on this kickoff it's a W for the Bills.
  20. Just the idea that Andy Reid and Mahomes had some master plan for the Super Bowl, but then Bienemy bursts in and tears it all to shreds and gives everyone their marching orders is hilarious to me
  21. The idea that Andy Reid would just stand there helpless will his OC called crappy plays and ripped the star QB apart because it was "in his (EB's) contract" is a complete and total joke. The HC ALWAYS has the final say, or he isn't the HC anymore. Now, I could see Reid letting EB pretty much run the offense as he is trying to help the man develop his career and all, plus Reid is trying to be more of a CEO type HC. OK. But this idea that it's all Bienemy's fault and poor Andy Reid just has to stand by and watch because of language in Bienemy's contract is a joke, and these writers should be ashamed. Also, IF this was all true I don't think EB coming back would be in the cards.
  22. LOL, which is why it's hilarious to me that so many are "outraged" over the Ross story...
  23. In no particular order, I would rank these AFC QBs ahead of Burrow: Allen Mahomes Jackson Herbert
  24. I have no need to see head smashing Steve Atwater type hits. I want to see the best players playing in the league. Football is still plenty physical, and there are ways to play the game with physicality that don't involve purposely inflicting head trauma to your opponent. I'm already looking forward to the NFL free agency period, draft, etc.
