Rex Ryan emerging as favorite for DC in Denver?

I really hope this happens! Rex makes the league more fun and that defense is loaded. -
Howard Simon "Winding down" from WGR
TheFunPolice replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Harsh opinion maybe but Howard is a professional on a station that sounds like a bunch of amateurs. He will be missed greatly. The rest of the well-known guys on WGR are cookie cutter radio characters who exist in every market in some form. Sad but true. Jeremy: the yappy know it all, younger sidekick guy who pokes fun at the real broadcaster because he's older Bulldog: the rough around the edges but likeable enough fan who is on the radio Schopp: the "I know everything" heel character (perfect for pairing with the friendly fan guy in Bulldog) Sal: the team apologist who loves everyone and everything and it's all great all the time, which is... look it... Jeremy was better before, but now he talks over everyone (including Howard) way too much, which is probably where the younger guys on the station learned that from. There is an art to being calm, sounding in control, asking good questions and actually letting other people speak that is lost on so many young broadcasters. These younger guys on WGR all sound like they're barking for attention, talking over everyone and anyone to get their voices on the air. It's unlistenable at times. -
All the players talk about coach Reid and his crazy offense... oh yeah and Eric too... It's usually phrases just like that, if Bieniemy is mentioned at all. Of course, Reid being the good guy he is will try to give more credit than is due, and he legitimately wants to see EB succeed. But everyone knows it's Andy Reid's offense, the same way it's Belichick's defense. It's probably best for EB's career advancement to go somewhere else and lead a successful offense with a defensive HC.

I guess I'm not as worked up about it but I understand it's not ideal. Just because it's a huge moment doesn't mean you can just see a foul that affects the play and just let it go. That's giving one team an unfair advantage. I am btw no fan of the refs. I just don't think this particular case is some sort of massive injustice.
-
Rodgers is a great example. He has been amazing for a long time but never even got back.
-
Eagles DB said he held. Refs saw the hold. Of course the WR says he was held so that doesn't mean much. The man called for the flag knew he held. So it sucks that it was called at that moment but it was a hold. Allowing a hold on that moment also changes the game, possibly taking a TD off the board in a key moment. It is what it is. I get that it sucks but it will barely be a footnote. It's hardly some massive story. Brady's phantom DPI gifts were much worse but in the end nobody cares.
-
Too many great QBs in the AFC Burrow and Allen are going to each get one, IMO Plus you've got Lamar, who is almost unstoppable when he's on. Herbert, who can win any game. And maybe Aaron Rodgers for a couple years. Brady had to get past Manning or a scrappy but non impressive Ravens or Steelers team. If Mannings team lost it was a cakewalk.
-
True... Like I said I didn't love it but I'm also not going to say that it decided the game. KC scored on every single drive after halftime.
-
Brady went almost a decade without a SB win and that was with the evil empire.
-
I get that they weren't calling it and I didn't love the call or the timing of it. But if you don't call it then you let the defense cheat basically. Tough spot. Glad it wasn't against us.
-
It was a hold. If the refs let it go then they are affecting the game. If the call it then the players decided the game.
-
There are no asterisks. KC scored on every possession of the second half against a powerful defense. Eagles got zero sacks. Coaching was phenomenal.

Andy Reid is going to be in the GOAT conversation in a few years, and I'm happy for him. People can yeah butt all they want but Reid won a ton of games with decent QBs. Now he's got a great QB. With 4 wins he will pass Tom Landry at #4 all time. That leaves only Shula, Belichick and Halas ahead of him. If he averages 11 wins for 6 years he'll pass Halas and be right there with Shula and Belichick. Imo Reid and Belichick will be 1-2 in some order in all time wins. Offensive GOAT and defensive GOAT
-
Happy for Andy Reid. I hope he coaches another 5-7 years. If he does he will be in the conversation for GOAT HC, especially given his coaching tree. He'll be top 3-4 at least all time in HC wins, with 2 different teams, multiple SB wins and only got a true top QB late in his career. After all that crap of he can't win the big one it's nice to see him get his props.

Interesting photo by Bills twitter

Is that Cook up front next to Hyde? -
Plus that division is loaded. For 15 years Brady and his HOF coach had to outduel Jauron, Marrone, Losman, Cleo Lemon, Mark Sanchez... AFC East was a total LOL

DPI incoming!

Everyone but Bills fans think this is over

That was a freaking collision... How did he not fumble?!

Awesome game!
