great teams always win a WTF title somewhere. Patriots sure did with that last Rams Super Bowl that ended 3-2 or whatever the score was. Worst SB I've ever seen. I watched some of the sideline footage the NFL puts together and even players were yawning. Patriots had ZERO business winning that SB but they got the ring. You don't always win when "you're ready" or even a favorite. In fact, a lot of time the favorite doesn't win. That (almost! LOL) undefeated NE team lost. That NE team that went back against the Giants with the same offense lost yet again, and it was a bit less dramatic. But that ghost of a team squeaked out a 6th ring against the Rams.

Antonio Brown - (Former) Arena Football League Owner
TheFunPolice replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is Antonio Brown going full Bon Jovi and promising to move to the Albany area full time and buy a house and pontoon boat on the Hudson River? -
People are capable of having more than one goal or more than one project going at a time, especially short and longer term. It's what successful people do. If that is foreign to you, then it's time to rethink your own approach.

The craziest part is that if Beane does that just 2 more times (interviews, press conferences, they all count) then he'll be 8 times as much in Davis's corner. That's when things get really crazy, because then we're a handful of media questions from him being 128 times more in Gabe's corner, and it just skyrockets from there.

Bills Rank 9th in NFLPA Team Report Card
TheFunPolice replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on the Ravens players tearing the organization apart today I would guess that there's more to the Lamar Jackson/Ravens situation than just a disagreement over guaranteed money. I'm always going to side with the players on these issues. These teams are worth billions of dollars. Every single one of the 23 teams should have weight rooms where the dumbbells are made of actual gold and silver. -

McDermott wants a ‘nastier edge’ to his Defense post Frazier
TheFunPolice replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
When McDermott called plays here and there the defense got more aggressive, at least from what I recall. IMO McDermott is a quality defensive mind, so I'm excited to see him take on the play calling and a more active role in the defense. If you're going to have a defensive coach let's play to his strengths. -
Bills Rank 9th in NFLPA Team Report Card
TheFunPolice replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
Overall, this is a very good ranking, especially for one of the smallest market teams. Top-notch facilities and staff. Overall, players seem pretty satisfied. It's nice to see this, as a fan of the team. It shows that there is a high-quality program here and we just need some 350+ pound linemen to get us over the line to a SB win. -
A REPORTER THINKS Packers are "done with Rodgers"
TheFunPolice replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read in the PFT article about the Haslam's buying into the Bucks that Rodgers 1% would be worth about $33 million at that price (the price the Haslams are paying for a %). -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheFunPolice replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is odd that those are the 2 guys with fully guaranteed QB contracts. One can't decide if he even wants to play, or where, or for how long, and obviously the other comes with serious off the field issues. If I'm Burrow I'm asking "where's my guaranteed contract?" -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheFunPolice replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rodgers signed a 3 year, 150 million dollar contract last offseason that is 100% guaranteed. So I think it will become somewhat of a "thing" for top tier guys. -

True, but he already earned over 300 million dollars, so I doubt the money alone is a huge factor. -

It's just my impression after watching that entire hour long interview. It was pretty interesting to see a different side of Rodgers. IMO, he will retire. We'll see. Hopefully soon. -

My prediction after listening to Rodgers on the Aubrey Marcus podcast is that he will retire. -
I love the idea of McDermott calling plays on defense. He's really good at it, and it was why he got this job.

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheFunPolice replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right but either way Watson is not giving up a penny of guaranteed money, which is the point with Jackson's contract. I get that it's crazy money, but it's how things work. Cleveland gave out that contract and now any elite QB should consider it the starting point for discussions. Even if the entire contract is not guaranteed, agents will demand Watson's guaranteed money plus whatever else that may or may not be guaranteed. I feel 0 sympathy for billionaire owners who, if the roles were reversed, would also demand every penny they could get. Someone will give Lamar a fully guaranteed deal, so why would the player accept anything less? Whether it's a good idea for the team or not is sort of irrelevant to the conversation. If a team would do that for Watson, with all his off field baggage, then someone like Lamar, who is a bigger star and has accomplished more, can also get it. I hope he goes to the NFC and makes a Brinks truck load of cash. He's a great player and does things the right way. It's just that he isn't going to allow his career to go the way of RGIII where the team abuses him and leaves him busted up and without getting his big payday. I say good for Lamar. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheFunPolice replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I still say that if Lamar were a free agent, some team would give him a fully guaranteed contract in order to get him to sign, maybe more than 1. Therefore, why should he settle? He holds all the cards, ultimately. He is a star QB, former MVP, and could sit out an entire season if need be and still be the #1 free agent a year from now. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
TheFunPolice replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lamar deserves a contract bigger than Watson's. Lamar is a better QB, a more dynamic threat, was league MVP, and hasn't had off the field issues and suspensions. That, plus contracts always go up over time= give Lamar what Watson got, plus some % on top of that. I'm always going to be for the players getting paid. If Lamar had torn his knee RGIII style in the playoffs this year the Ravens would say "gosh that's awful" and pay him pennies on the dollar or cut him loose and he wouldn't see a fraction of the $$ he deserves. IF Lamar was a free agent, some team would give him what he wants, maybe more than 1. Why should he settle? -
Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
TheFunPolice replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I want to see McDermott call the defensive plays. It's his forte, so let's benefit from it. -
If there was a dome, there wouldn't have been a travel ban in Erie County during that blizzard, and the streets and parking lot would have been cleared for thousands of people to drive in whiteout conditions through 10 feet of snow to reach the stadium and we wouldn't have had to lose a home game. That's the logic?

A picture of Von Miller and D Henry
TheFunPolice replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
The biggest issue with a monster talent at RB is that he's beat up/injured by the time the biggest games come along in late December and then the playoffs. Someone in the NFL is going to adopt the "load management" philosophy with those types of players someday and look like a genius. These guys look unstoppable in September and by January they are on IR or a shell of themselves. Regardless of his health, I wouldn't play Miller until week 14 next season, just to ramp him up. We need him in January, not September. -
This team is built backwards. All of the investment in $$ and draft capital is on defense, except the QB. Great defenses are going to get scored on by good offenses with the rules the way they are now. Look at the Eagles star studded defense in the Super Bowl. Your defense needs to limit the other team just enough for the offense to outscore them. Paying $100M+ to a pretty good LB makes zero sense in today's game.
