  1. I don't think it's possible for Bills and Bengals to be the AFC Title game, since Bengals are pretty much locked into 3rd seed and if 2 and 3 are in the divisional round they would play each other, since another lower seeded team would be the team #1 would play.
  2. I would have just gone with winning % and whoever gets 1st seed gets 1st seed. Bengals weren't realistically getting that anyway, so you're talking about the difference between #2 and #3 seed for them. Bengals win their division and clinch #3 at worst. #1 seed comes down to Chiefs/Raiders and maybe Bills/Patriots (if Raiders win). It would have made more sense (IMO) to do all the above and IF it came down to Bills/Bengals in the Divisional round play that game in Cincinnati, regardless of whether Bills or Bengals are #2.
  3. The more the NFL does the worse it gets. Go with winning percentage and let the chips fall where they may. None of these crazy solutions are good ideas
  4. no neutral fields, that's a terrible idea However you figure out the seeds is fine. Letting #1 seed select HFA or bye is decent too, but then go forward from there as normal. IF they go that route (whoever ends up #1 seed gets the choice of 1) I would like to see all 3 teams in the running for #1 seed (KC, BUF, CIN) come out and publicly agree to it before any games are played this weekend.
  5. Bye all day long, although it's interesting. 1 less game to win to get to the SB, and 1 less game of injury possibilities or just general fatigue
  6. are they talking about an 8th team from both conferences? If not, the NFC #1 seed has an enormous advantage best idea is to declare a no-contest, leave the #1 seed up to the Chiefs/ Raiders and Bills/Patriots games, and move on
  7. to me, the Dr. who answered that question (I'm watching the video feed) seemed dubious that it was what happened but maybe that's me
  8. It's not crazy to think that the Raiders could beat KC. They put up a lot of points against a great 49ers defense with Stidham at QB. I wouldn't say it's likely but maybe 40% chance. That means beat NE and Bills are #1 seed.
  9. if they wanted to re-start, they could do TNF next week to finish the game. Sun 1/8 Bills and Bengals play their games Thur 1/12 Bills and Bengals finish their game (picks up where it left off) Wild Card Weekend: Sat Sun Mon Tue (for the Bengals and Bills, or just the Bengals, if the Bills win #1 seed). Divisional Round: Sat Sun Mon (for the winner of the Tue playoff game) at that point, they would be basically back to normal schedule, minus 1 day
  10. It's truly incredible to see the outpouring of love and support for Hamlin and his family. It's also great to hear tidbits of promising news. Waiting is the hardest thing, but there's been really nothing to say since Monday night.
  11. I would happily support it, if our children wanted to play football. There are risks in any sport, or really, anything that involves doing something other than sitting on your couch, which is also a risk if overdone. I assume a main reason for the question is Hamlin's cardiac arrest on the field. What happened to Hamlin was terrible, but we also don't know exactly why it happened. It could simply be a freak accident that could occur in any sport where 2 people crash into each other, which is every sport out there (although more often in football, obviously). Sadly, cardiac events do (very, very rarely) happen in youth and collegiate sports, just not usually to professional athletes on national TV. More often, they happen to non-athletes who are known only by their friends and family so it's not a story. The main thread is sadly full of stories like that. When it comes to concussions, I do believe that this generation of players will have much better outcomes. Most of us who grew up in the 80's remember how barbaric the game really was. Go back and watch old highlights of defense in the 70's and 80's. It's like watching a different sport. There are no more Steve Atwaters launching themselves like ballistic missiles at guys and TKOing them on the field. That's a great thing. And it must have a positive impact on today's players' long-term health. There is plenty more work to do. I have said it multiple times, but it bugs me to see NFL players dive on top of guys who are on the ground, rather than a simple touch down by contact. Those are unnecessary collisions, and getting rid of that takes away nothing from the game. There are still plenty of low hanging fruit like that for football to clean up.
  12. Brady will go to the Raiders if he doesn't retire IMO. SF doesn't need a 46 year old QB. Plus I think he wants to face Mahomes twice a year. As far as the Dolphins go... Tua seems like a great guy, but he cannot stay healthy. They are really stuck. They hired the latest "smartest person in the room" spreadsheet guy and Tua did well enough when healthy that next year will be the same 8-9 type season
  13. Of course Dak gets injured just in time for Brady to play a backup QB in the playoffs. I mean seriously
  14. If Wilks can lead the Panthers to 2 more wins he not only deserves the permanent job but the love and adoration of all who despise TB12 and all it's grossness
  15. I'm rooting for a Chargers collapse and the Steelers to squeak in again. Its not impossible!
  16. Imo Hackett knows he's done and has stopped really prepping for games. It's the only thing that makes sense No way that Denver roster is so bad that they get blown out by the Rams based on talent
  17. It's the storyline. Brady's greatest comeback ever! He does absolutely nothing but look terrible for 59 minutes, then suddenly, the other team always throws up all over itself (Saints RB going out of bounds untouched before getting the first, Cardinals suddenly fumble a simple pitch play) and magically, Brady is suddenly unstoppable. It's too convenient. So you can laugh all you want, but these stories always end with golly gee genuine Tommy holding a trophy
  18. Brady is going to the Super Bowl. I'm 100% convinced.
  19. Word is that his mom's friend is now saying that she was just kidding and the "rendezvous" never happened. She can't believe everyone took it seriously.
