  1. if I'm a free agent or "thoughtful, introspective, passive aggressive veteran" QB I'm looking to get myself to the NFC/keep myself there, especially the NFC South.
  2. it's the curse of the good young QB. Often, they keep mediocre coaches employed because their talents are enough to win just enough games Sometimes they get lucky with good coaches (Allen, Mahomes, Jackson) but often the coach holds them back
  3. If Hyde isn't quite ready yet, another 4 weeks when we (hopefully) play in the Super Bowl is a LONG time
  4. This could be the perfect time for both parties to maximize their situations. Lamar wants lots of $$ and there are rumors he wants out. Ravens have a guy who is a huge name in the league who wants a huge, fully guaranteed contract they don't want to give. IMO, Jackson has reached his ceiling, and his style of play has started to result in injuries later in the season. September and October Lamar are amazing, but then it gets to December and he's banged up and much less effective due to all the punishment. Ravens should look to trade him for another QB who can win with that team. Lamar for Tua, a 1st, and a 2nd? Tue is extremely accurate, is used to the cold (it snows in Alabama), and can hand off to the Ravens RBs and make occasional throws to guys who are schemed open.
  5. There are almost always upsets in the playoffs, and I think the Jags could give the Chiefs trouble. The Chargers always feel like a loaded, dangerous team but underwhelm. People make fun of Mike Tomlin, who never saw a punt he didn't like, but the dude has been coaching for 146 years and never had a single losing season. Staley is one of these newer "smarter" coaches who think that doing everything the other way is automatically better or smarter. Staley literally cost his team a playoff berth last year when the Raiders were going to play for a tie but he forced their hand into trying the game winning FG. That was a fileable offense right there. This year he costs his team AGAIN by getting 2 star players, who are both made of glass, hurt by playing them in what amounted to a preseason game. Part of me wants him to stay there, because he is neutralizing the talent on that roster with his idiotic decisions. The other part of me just wants to see him make some coaching blunder that costs the Chargers a playoff win this weekend.
  6. after being told to JUST GO DOWN! when he gets the game winning INT pre-game by Marty! They showed that during the Football Life episode on Marty. It's truly amazing how fine the line is between winning and losing in the playoffs. That DB drops to the ground with the ball and the game is over, SD moves on and who knows what happens once the evil empire is out of the way. Also, Brady threw TWO season-ending INT in the playoffs that were wiped out and gave him another shot. This one in SD, wiped out by the DB fumbling (lost to the Colts the next week anyway in the AFC Title Game) AFC Title game vs KC where Dee Ford lines up 2 inches Offside to wipe it out (won the SB) Instead, because the DB fumbles, "Brady did it again!" and Marty's teams "cannot win the big games" and he gets fired.
  7. Bills 41 Bucs 17 Brady throws for 394 yards and 2 TD, mostly coming late when the game is 41-3. Analysts say how he "still has it!" That would epitomize both teams' seasons.
  8. Brady ranked 30th in yards per pass, or yards per attempt. The reason he had so many passing yards and so many attempts is that Tampa is totally 1 dimensional and cannot run the football and only passes. It's dink and dunk, aside from a few deep passes to Mike Evans in the Carolina game. That was an anomaly though this season. THIS is huge. If pressure of any kind gets anywhere near Brady this year he just chucks the ball. He is terrified of getting hit, even more than ever. BUT... week #17 and 18, or late in the game, he is in the game with a chance to win. If you're in the locker room or on the sideline with an injury you have no shot at all.
  9. Brady to the Dolphins would be AMAZING! For one, he'll be 46 and the Dolphins would send Tua off. One year, MAYBE 2, and they're right back to QB purgatory. Second, we beat him twice next season. Third, no way he gets through the AFC gauntlet to the Super Bowl. Fourth, I would actually root for NE to beat him twice just so it's forever Belichick 2, Brady 1 head to head (Bill has more SB rings also).
  10. Glad he didn't sign here, and hopefully he doesn't in the offseason. Draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd round instead. He'll be cheaper, more hungry, and won't have a knee that blew out twice already.
  11. We would obliterate the Bucs The leadup would be stressful, but we would tear that team apart. They are not good, as their record shows. It would be like the Atlanta 28-3 Super Bowl except without the comeback, because we would score 40. and that's me saying that, the guy who if Dallas wins this Monday will STILL be convinced that Brady will get to the Super Bowl somehow.
  12. Andy Reid will almost certainly retire #2, with an outside shot at #1, all-time in head coaching wins. Reid is the offensive coach version of Belichick, except he didn't have an all-time great QB for most of his HC career. Can you imagine Andy Reid with Tom Brady for 20 years, and Belichick with a combination of McNabb, Cassell, Alex Smith, and then, finally, Mahomes 20 years later? the SB wins would likely be reversed. Maybe Reid doesn't win 6 with Brady. Or maybe he wins 7 with Brady. No disrespect to Caldwell, who by all accounts is a great guy and a decent enough coach, but there is no comparison.
  13. For this team, this group of people, to be the ones to win a Super Bowl would be special in a way that no other team/season could match.
  14. Oddly there's a bunch of blue Gatorades. That's what I learned from this!
  15. Blue Gatorade you say... Cool Blue or Glacier Freeze? It does matter. I hear Hyde is a HUGE Cool Blue guy but doesn't consider Glacier Freeze to be truly "blue" but more of a teal color
  16. This probably sounds dumb, but after living in NY my entire life I think that on some psychological level I would miss the gloom
  17. Interesting stat, for sure. Also interesting that the top of that list doesn't exactly read like a who's who of top NFL QBS, although a bunch are also up high on it.
  18. Dorsey will be busy until mid-February. Maybe schedule a nice Valentine's Day dinner together, but until then our guy is game planning.
  19. The more I think of it, the more I think Rodgers demanding such an insanely expensive contract was simply a power move. He's wanted out for a couple years but Green Bay is in this weird spot where they don't want to build around him and win but they don't want him going somewhere else either. It puts him in this position: let me go or pay me $50 million next year but I'm not retiring. IMO the Green Bay thing became deeply personal, and everyone dug in. MGT wanted Rodgers to retire and Rodgers wanted out. MGT refused because then they would go 3-14 while Rodgers played at an MVP level somewhere else. So, force the guy to retire instead was the strategy.
  20. I was watching that thinking "is there a football field in there somewhere?" It's like a shopping mall and an airport had a baby
  21. It will be interesting to see which itch the refs scratch: their beloved Tommy or Dak and the boys
  22. Lefleur should be fired. Between the Packers player walking in between the lines of scrimmage during the FG attempt and grabbing the ball from the center, and later another couple of players shoving Lions training staff it's like they were all on something. Totally out of control team that wasted some of the best seasons of Rodgers career
