A Few Thoughts About the *Pats game, in no particular order
TroutDog replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good write-up. All the talk of ‘this is just another game’ was just that: talk. It was clearly in Josh’s head and it showed. Give him time and he’ll figure it out (their D). He is smart and committed to learning. The positive for me today? We held strong with the world champions, even with our turnovers! Once we get Josh settled down, this will turn into a W in the future and a changing of the guard on the AFCE. -
Agreed...and up the Irons!
-
Even with the loss, I look for the positives. First and foremost is Edmunds: he was hammering runs and was solid in pass coverage.

Yes, you are. Look at his catches last year. Look at the blocks he threw that led to TD’s this year. Is he a lights out WR? No. But he brings value.

Few opportunities to beat two legends...
TroutDog replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmmm. Not sure about this. I truly think Goodell and Kraft are pretty tight. Not implying that I know anything that’s taking place but, where there’s smoke there’s fire...and there’s definitely smoke...so I suspect it exists. -
He’s an ‘A’ as they have not lost a game. Sure, things can be improved upon (as he has stated ad nauseum) but they’re still 3-0. Solid A.

NFL, NFL Referees Announce New 7 Year Deal
TroutDog replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Part of the agreement states the following: ”Should Tom Brady complain about your/our officiating at any time during the year on social media, we will immediately amend all rules so he remains comfortable and NEVER touched.” -
This (and others) were posted a couple of days ago. As as I said then: please give me the ‘Shout’ song!!!

Few opportunities to beat two legends...

We also ended Favre’s streak: ‘Don’t cross the Moats!’ It’s time for a change. Tomorrow would be perfect. -
Schedule/playoff format suggestion:

I was responding to the OP. Altering how they would work should be part of the discussion. -
Say Singletary plays and Edelman doesn't...

I just said it out loud and nothing happened. What should I have expected? ? -
Schedule/playoff format suggestion:

Thoughts: 1. There has to be two preseason games, in my opinion. 2. Bye weeks have to stay. Can’t see the NFLPA letting go of those (nor should they). 3. I like the addition of playoff games. Would definitely make for intriguing viewing and increasing player pay. Win-win. -
How is this done?

Belichick breaks down the Bills
TroutDog replied to Dr Krentist's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great breakdown. I wish he said that he had no idea what we’re doing. ? At any rate, this should be a fun game and the Ralph will be bursting at the seams! -
Troll much? ?

Good for you for putting in the effort to do it but I LOVE the classic royal blue. Just my opinion.

TNF 8:20pm : Eagles (1-2) @ Packers (3-0)
TroutDog replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go Pack!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve always just hated the Eagles for no particular reason. -
He is an a** hat. I wish he’d go away.

They talked about his improvement specifically. Those are simply the numbers as of right now. Personally, I though it was a well crafted article understanding that it’s a metrics based author. He/she isn’t wrong. They’re just not adding in the ‘eye test’ that we all see...it’s not their job.

Was the O Line Good, Bad, Or Indifferent in Game 1?
TroutDog replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I though this was interesting from the Athletic regarding Ford’s line play in week 3: Bills All-22 Review: How the film tells a different story of the offensive line’s play https://theathletic.com/1237811/2019/09/24/bills-all-22-review-how-the-film-tells-a-different-story-of-the-offensive-lines-play/ Quote: ”Ford’s worst rep resulted in one of Allen’s best plays of the game. Ford saw pass rusher Carlos Dunlap take a half-step toward an inside rush and got on his heels. Dunlap read Ford and booked it to the edge, not allowing the slower-footed rookie to catch up. Dunlap flushed Allen from the pocket and the quarterback needed an all-world throw to come up with the first down. Ford also struggled to stay step for step with the defender, and then relied too much on T.J. Yeldon for help on another rep. On a run-blocking opportunity, Ford dipped his head down and allowed the defender to rip past him to pin the running back on the inside and finish the play. You can see the three examples below, all of which add to the existing concerns with keeping him at tackle. Once right guard Jon Feliciano left the game with a neck injury, Ford replaced him and looked like a different player. Ford played confidently as a pass blocker against bull rushers and operated well in space to “find work” and help his teammates. As a run blocker, he looked explosive as a puller and he crashed down on defenders when the play call needed him to get to the second level.” -
My first game at the Ralph since 1995 this Sunday
TroutDog replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Happened to me three out of the last four. -
Yes, but we only discuss positive things related to Josh here. ?
-
I think Josh’s average release time gets skewed by some of his scrambles. For instance, there was one play where he held it for eight seconds!!!
