  1. That’s due to the regime change, not a talent void in the second round. Those picks are extremely valuable.
  2. What a joke this is. There are ZERO reasons for all of these garbage threads. If you have nothing productive to say, then don’t start a thread.
  3. It’s in my original post: Woods believes so, two years from working with him and still understanding modern football. I trust him and believe he knows a bunch more than individuals on a message board who simply aren’t happy about our team losing...and having knee-jerk reactions to the loss. As far as coaching, he clearly states that there are nine new O starters and it takes time to transition to a cohesive unit. Again, reality. Not to mention a QB that has incredible talent but was a known project from a small school. The Bills are not there yet. They are one or two drafts away, in my opinion. The key is to have fun in the mean time. ?
  4. The vast majority of the threads being created after the game (not this one) and today shouldn’t even be responded to: they are knee-jerk reactions to a bad game. They’re classic, ‘Woe is me!’ threads. Give me a break. A few weeks ago the threads were all about how Daboll was going to get a HC opportunity and today he’s the worst OC in the history of the NFL. Personally, I like what Woods said today on WGR about Daboll: he’s an exceptional OC, the problem is a lack of execution and the realities of the NFL. Sometimes teams are just gonna show out. (All of that is paraphrased.) Everything else here is simply noise.
  5. You believe correctly! He discussed this very thing with Jim and the intent of the large fine is to keep people in the stands who aren’t looking from getting bonked in the head a’la a baseball game. Handing a ball to a fan is completely fine. The video is from not too long ago when they were chatting about celebrations. It was posted here.
  6. Completely different time, different salary cap...the Bills are proving it can be done: Bills 2017 - present. Want me to go on, kiddo? ? Snark isn’t needed, just saying.
  7. Yup. And this is why tanking like the Fins are doing is crazy, in my opinion: you’re setting a culture that the organization doesn’t care about winning. Beane traded pieces away to fix the cap and then, after a down season, dealt to move where he wanted to in the draft. Maintain a winning culture and getting the players you want. I think Beane did it right and McD kept the culture in tact during a challenging year.
  8. This was discussed in The Athletic: “In a game that featured a high-dosage of base defense, Star Lotulelei had only had eight more snaps than his backup. It’s been a rough start to the season for Lotulelei, who appears to be getting pushed off his spot more than he had been in 2018. The primary function of the one-technique player is to stand his ground, effectively setting the table for his teammates. Lotulelei has faced plenty of one-on-one matchups in 2019, and is consistently letting the offensive linemen beat him.” Bills All-22 Review: Why Josh Allen’s day looks better on film and Ed Oliver is heating up https://theathletic.com/1314766/2019/10/22/bills-all-22-review-why-josh-allens-day-looks-better-on-film-and-ed-oliver-is-heating-up/
  9. The Bills are seventh in the league against the run (http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=null&role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=RUSHING&defensiveStatisticCategory=null&season=2019&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=false&Submit=Go). That makes the opponent one dimensional. Look, you can criticize this team until the cows come home but they are 5 and 1. The QB is 9 and 1 when giving the ball up one time or less. They are well coached. The one thing that people say is lacking is the long ball (I would rather they CONTROL the ball to give our D a break), but Josh is only 6% off from last year on passes longer than 20 yards per WGR. To me, Demarcus is spot on.
  10. I respectfully disagree. After a week off it is no surprise to me that many were still in ‘coast’ mode. The game plan couldn’t have been all bad since we won. ?
  11. I’m not sure about this. With the team getting the entire week off, I believe it was, as a number of them said post game (and was mentioned countless times on WGR this week), they were rusty and out of sorts. I suspect the entire week off will benefit them long term but, perhaps, caused them unforeseen challenges in the first game back. Just my opinion.
  12. It seems as though most want him to be like Mahomes at this stage while not paying attention to reality: he is from a small college program and a JC before that and a small HS before that. He has never had a QB coach until this year and is on the biggest stage in the world. Personally, I love what he’s doing and his progression. For the rest of the year, be mindful with the ball and then look for the next big boost during the offseason.
  13. Pretty telling that the Pats* are on the minds of people AND that they think they’re getting an unfair shake. Interesting exercise: thanks!
  14. That’s funny because Robert Wood mentioned this specifically on WGR. Not to slight you but I’ll take his opinion. OP: Love to see a ‘glass half full’ post! This O and Allen will improve over time. 9 new O starters and a still very young QB who was KNOWN to be a project when drafted. I believe he is beating expectations (or should he if looking at it reasonably).
  15. I posted this almost a month ago...
  16. Realized I wasn’t wearing my hat and put it on at halftime. It’s magical.
  17. Jobu woke up the O and D!
  18. For those interested, they talk about Josh at 9:57.
  19. I’m stunned some members here think Fitz can beat our D with no O line and a horrendous D on his side. He is and always has been a serviceable backup. I loved rooting for him but he is no second coming or Marino down there. Trust our D!!!!!!
  20. A couple things: 1. I hope they don’t give up any draft picks: they’re doing it right and I hope they stay the course. 2. I don’t get the AJ Green love around here. I just don’t get it as he’s at the end of his shelf life and hasn’t even played this year. Give up a draft pick for that? With that being said, Evans is intriguing.
  21. I agree @dave mcbride. It’s silly that it was ever implemented at this point and it needs to be scrapped as the refs are absolutely pushing back against being questioned.
  22. You don’t mean communists do you? ?
  23. Those refs are out of control in the KC game. This is nuts.
  24. I don’t. And stop calling me Shirley! ?
