He discussed his mental hygiene team in the piece. Seems as though he finally recognized the fact that he needed it. The scene in the police car was just such a shame, babbling incoherently talking about polar opposite things. As far as paying the price as others have stated, he was out of the league for two years and has been arrested multiple times. Quite a price. He addresses this exact thing in the piece and he stated he understands why people think that based on his history. Also, a ‘good’ player? He was a beast.

A really interesting piece on Richie on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. He appears to have his act together now and also shows how extremely low he was in multiple times during his career...including video from when he was in the police car after his most recent arrest. He does discuss being overweight and stoned during team functions with the Bills. Pretty clear he has a serious substance abuse issue...and has it beat for now, which is good. He has had some REALLY serious breakdowns which they share unfiltered. I’m always a sucker for comeback stories so it’s nice to see a guy who has had serious issues making a comeback. I hope it sticks.

Some mid-season thoughts re Allen and the team

Sorry, he connected on five passes more than 40 yards. -
"Lo Down" with Lorenzo Alexander this week
TroutDog replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love this segment! Didn’t get to hear it this week as they switched to the Sabres game at 1:30. Zo is a true pro and, while I’d love to see him for one more year, it would be great if he could land in front of a mic should he decide to hang the cleats up. This was a great segment. Zo does call it like he see’s it and I loved his take. Both culture and talent are important but you really need both. We have a bunch of the first and some of the second. Perfect trajectory! -
Some mid-season thoughts re Allen and the team
TroutDog replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh had exactly FIVE passes above 40 yards last year. There is very little shift in that regard, contrary to the narrative here. I do like your list and appreciate the time invested...particularly the last! -
So no margin of victory is good enough for you? Just seems whacky to me.

There’s not a lot of Tasker love around here because of his media presence, but he was THE MAN in teams and very good as a receiver towards the latter part of his career. He was a true menace on the field and I’ll listen to his banter to this day as I appreciate what he did for us.

Can one of you give the guy $40m and make him go away? Please? -
Any interest in former Bill Zach Brown ?

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. -
I suspect I should know what the upper and lower case letters mean but I don’t.... ?

Second largest margin of victory in the entire LEAGUE last week.

Who is the healthy scratch for Sunday?
TroutDog replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don’t underestimate the value of being a decoy: the opposing D HAS to keep someone home to protect against him. I believe they value his veteran leadership. As for his holding penalties, at least two that I recall were completely phantom. With that being said, he’s still a penalty problem/magnet. -
The problem with our run defense is simple…
TroutDog replied to CoachT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got you. When I read the talking heads who review the All 22 (I don’t), they come up with a decidedly different opinion. In the game last week the issue was fixed at half so, to me, it makes some of your takes dubious. I do appreciate the time invested, though! -

So our entire D line sucks? Just trying to clarify. ? -
Daboll is an excellent play caller

That argument would be awesome if they never practiced the plays before. That’s NOT what is being stated. -

They were in a position to not have to show anything other than the most basic of schemes...as evidenced by them scoring TD’s and handily winning the game. Wasn’t trying to be a turd, was just goofing as all of this has been discussed ad nauseum over multiple threads. People can choose to believe Woods is throttled by his employer but he certainly doesn’t come across that way. I met him a few years ago on Canandaigua Lake and he calls it like he sees it. He did then and he appears to do so now. This team is 6-2 and there is a lot of room for improvement and he consistently points that out. -

We beat them by 15, the second largest margin of victory on Sunday. In addition, neither the Pats*** or Niners have beaten anyone either. Believe whatever you’d like, but it makes perfect sense to me and, personally, I’ll listen to a smart man a year removed from a decade long career above others. -

It’s not a secret, it’s the SIMPLE fact of showing upcoming opponents as little of your O as possible when a game is already in hand. It is exceedingly basic and not sure how it’s hard to grasp. -

TroutDog replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was discussed on WGR yesterday and they said they are not showing any spread now as to limit what upcoming opponents see. Makes sense. Also, I must admit I trust recent former professional players over someone on a message board. Doesn’t that make sense? -
This has been discussed (and laughed at) in another thread. A simple search would have let you know.

Grading the next generation of quarterbacks...CBS Article
TroutDog replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for posting. It all seems fair, across all QB’s. As I’ve stated here multiple times, I think Josh is going to be a great QB and this reenforces that others (non-homers) are seeing what I’m seeing: a raw QB who is improving. He was not only the right Josh, he IS the right QB.- 54 replies

One former Buffalo Bill passes another...literally.
TroutDog replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should also get props for, each and every week, playing against a team he USED to play for and having to answer the question: does that provide motivation? ? -
I think it still has value but not for what the OP is saying. Instead, it’s still reasonable to look at how QB’s progress after coming to the league. Even the best (Peyton more recently) had rough starts. Most positions simply need time to acclimate to the NFL level...although there are outliers.
