  1. I agree with the premise. The hope is, to be Frank, is that we get some guys to take a hometown discount a’la TB. That’s the way a juggernaut is built. In the age of salary caps, someone has to bite the bullet and take a lower salary for the good of the franchise (with a wink and a nod for post career employment as I have no doubt Tommy Boy took). What I know definitively is this group appears to be the right group from owner to HC. We just finished an 11* win season (we would have won the last Jets game if not for playing our JV’s).
  2. This draft is going to be, first, sooooooo long since we have to wait to pick at 22 (probably) and to see which direction they go. Given the WR depth, I would not be unhappy if they went OL or DE in the first (with FA still in play). Whoever we get, for the first time since the mid-90’s, I feel as though this organization has its head screwed on straight. Comfort. ?
  3. In that event I would hope they would stand pat or move back and get a high ranking OL.
  4. Yup. Love the kid. Such a steal in the fifth.
  5. Josh is special and if you haven’t recognized it by now, then I’m not sure you can be helped. When gauging and NFL player, I truly believe it’s absolutely critical to understand the trajectory of the position overall: Josh is on the right trajectory. That was an absolute blast to watch and, as I’ve said elsewhere here, any time the ball is in his hands, I’m stoked. What a pick and what a ‘kid’!!!! ?
  6. I think you’ll be waiting for decades. Just saying.
  7. Respect the heck out of what he’s done but Lord I can’t wait until he is gone.
  8. And here Josh is putting a guy through a table: ? https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2020/01/buffalo-bills-qb-josh-allen-channels-bills-mafia-puts-interviewer-through-table-watch.html
  9. I agree but he had the same problem last year.
  10. Not sure if they completely made that argument in the article. They certainly made a fair argument to question what he’s saying...and he isn’t a neurosurgeon so seems obvious. It becomes dangerous to simply discard his work, though, in my opinion, as there is a tremendous amount of money surrounding this.
  11. The article is more of a knock against Omalu than CTE, itself. He’s cashing in and that’s his right (whether you believe it or not). Having gone through two neurosurgeries, my surgeon and I discussed CTE multiple times and it is absolutely real and 100% caused by repeated blows to the head (per them). We also discussed the drug and alcohol abuse and his immediate response was, “Would the otherwise successful athletes be doing that if not for pain?” Seemed like a fair general question and argument. Personally, I wish there was a way to stop this in contact sports. Alas, there isn’t. I do, however, wish Omalu would tighten up his argument and stick to the facts. Like it or not, he is the face of CTE to many people.
  12. I wouldn’t argue this at all. He does appear to be confident but not all things are as they appear. Factor in who he played against previously and it would certainly make sense that he’d question himself now being at the highest level.
  13. I agree and further believe the issue this year was him overthrowing to avoid turnovers. The whole ‘protect the ball’ idea precluded him from truly attempting to put it where he actually wanted it. Also, his mechanics have been getting better bit by bit and as they improve, so will his long ball accuracy. The kid has the arm and, finally, the coaching to make the necessary strides. My initial point was most folks seem to believe he was hitting all of the long balls last year and he actually didn’t do it very well or often.
  14. One thing I appreciate about Beane is that I am basically sure that we won’t be drafting a CJ Spiller, McCargo or Maybin again. For me, that makes the draft all the more fun. Last year I was somewhat stunned with the Singletary pick but, as per usual, Beane was right. My point is, whomever they pick, it has a high probability of being the right pick!
  15. Josh had five passs of 40+ in his first year and this past year he had seven so I’m not sure where this narrative comes from.
  16. Gotta tell you, as a guy who has been to MANY stadiums, I love the Ralph. I know people want all of the ‘new experiences’, but I want football and I absolutely love the sight lines at the Ralph. I completely understand that I am an old fart at 50, but I love the stadium, the tailgating and hope they keep it and update from now until I’m no more!!! ?
  17. One and done? Been to the SB twice and was a game away from it last year. He’s also won a ton of games, season after season.
  18. I would expect him to. Two SB victories, 2 SB MVP’s and 7th in passing yards (plus most post season yards in a season).
  19. I don’t really care one way or the other if he gets a ring but I am pulling for the Chiefs. He was so lousy his last year here I was happy they pulled the trigger (knowing he was running behind a terrible line). The dancing that he does drove me bonkers.
  20. I was at that game and the tickets were $100 each. Wouldn’t trade the experience for the world!
  21. I liked what he did this year. Always safe with the ball and exciting with just a slight opening.
  22. Just couldn’t help yourself, could you @HOUSE ?
  23. Well ask Darth Vader about how being Obi Wans master worked out. ?
  24. Parity is the desired outcome.
  25. Two shut down corners? Should we have a QB on our team? Not sure how you pay for your wish list. ?
