  1. Fair enough, assuming what he is now is all he will ever be. Was Josh worth it at pick seven understanding that it would take a few years to come to fruition? Yup. I was too verbose saying the same as it applies to so many picks.
  2. No, to be honest. NY numbers are the envy of the US and they’re not to be pee’d away in my opinion.
  3. I appreciate your thoughts but saying one right decision negates another is short sighted: QB is the ONE decision and they absolutely nailed it. Also, in my opinion, they knew where Ford was going to excel the entire time. It also seems that you aren’t keeping in mind their grand plan: to purge contracts that didn’t fit their DNA. Managing a team in the NFL is not simply a case of ‘this guy takes us to the SB and this guy doesn’t’ in my opinion. The nuances are radical and critical. If you view it otherwise (you clearly do), understood. I don’t. This regime is phenomenal.
  4. For me, this all boils down to 2020 and the defenses not having sufficient time to acclimate. It’s league-wide. For a Star Wars reference: patience, my young Padawan, patience. 😃 I mentioned elsewhere that McD’s D always have a three game shortfall during the season. We are now on the outside looking in.
  5. I did not watch the entire game but what I saw was appalling and completely consistent with his defenses. Truly grotesque. The days of Lambert playing with a broken leg, Alzado trying to literally maim people and (as mentioned in another thread) Conrad Dobler trying to inflict bodily harm are over. How about this, Greg: teach players discipline and your system and let them play within the bounds of the rules? What an a** hat.
  6. Apologies if this has been discussed as I haven’t read the entire thread. I just went back and watched the pre-draft videos of Josh. I can tell you of one person who was very high on Josh and that was Mel Kiper. Him and, obviously, Beane and the Bills. I suspect some are better at looking at the entire picture than others, including intangibles, that others don’t have. In other words, some people fall for the hype as opposed to what could be in the right circumstances. To be honest, I suspect this was the same for Gabriel Davis and, possibly, Isaiah Hodgins. Beane (and/or his staff) seems to have an ability to grasp who the player was in addition to who they will be in McDermott’s system. This organization is so many light years ahead of where we were it’s not even funny.
  7. Missing those two for a game was dumb luck as it was against a relatively poor opponent.
  8. Logic, thanks for sharing. I very much enjoyed it. In particular, you gave us your solid definition of ‘Franchise QB’ and also did a great job of painting a picture of incredible Josh plays that are in all of our minds. Loved it!!
  9. Yeah, it was ‘91 when we beat them last on the road I believe.
  10. Thought I read that somewhere this morning. That’s why I said I believe. Maybe not??? 91 was last win on the road: https://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/teamvsteam?opp=4&ha=H
  11. I love the positive picture in the media...just need to keep Josh grounded mentally...for now.
  12. Bills - 34 LV - 21 Our D finds its footing (one garbage TD for LV), Josh keeps the petal to the metal and we all finally breathe. 😃 Oh: and Teams has another solid game, Josh accounts for four TD’s and again passes 300. Singletary will also have a solid game (100+ scrimmage yards) and score once. LASTLY: I believe the 51-3 game was the last time we beat them on the road. I had a T-shirt with the Buffalo News cover on it at the time.
  13. I agree with all of that! Still wasn’t smart, though. 😃 I know many have been down on Harrison this year but he was REALLY good last year. ACL’s take time to recover from and he’s intensely driven.
  14. Ha! Was speaking generally: we avoided injuries last year overall. 😃
  15. THANK YOU, OP!!! I’ve been wanting to see this since last game day! Classic! 😃
  16. Blast from the past! I looked him up and he’s in bad shape: nine knee replacements, needs another and is hard pressed for cash. Completely disabled now.
  17. Ah yes, forgot about that. Man that was blatant and not very smart.
  18. Crazy how lucky we were last year with no real injuries. 2020 sucks in case everyone hadn’t noticed.
  19. I agree with this. Since McD came to Buffalo, there have been a three to four game series where the D was really lousy. It was straight out of the gate in his first year, a little later in year two and, if I recall correctly, mid year last year. They’re getting that out of their system early this year. Now if the can get rid of the third quarter O lull, they’ll be good. I think they win eleven but the 10-12 range wouldn’t surprise me.
  20. 38? Ha! What I’d do to be 38!!!! 😃 Hate to say it but it doesn’t get better from there!
  21. I had a dream last night that I was hanging with Josh and he said he was soon going to sign his contract for $50m. I said that you’re not going to give a hometown discount to keep great players around you? Say, $10m per year? He just stared at me. Then I woke up to pee because that’s what you do at my age.
  22. I actually wrote that for our game against the Rams. Given their inability to stop the run the first two weeks I really thought they’d feed Singletary all day.
  23. This is a positive, not a negative, from this organization. Not sure why some don’t want to realize that. Any advantage, within the rules, that they can take, they should.
