  1. nope sorry you lose - hopefully merriman makes a few big plays vs cincy tho i'm really hopeful there is some truth to the nagging injury theories, and that his play improves as the year goes on
  2. Nope. http://www.nfl.com/videos/buffalo-bills/09000d5d8228cdba/Patriots-vs-Bills-highlights The play is at about 1:40. Merriman's rush is ineffective, and Dareus makes a nice play to tip the pass which is what resulted in the interception. Merriman had a marginal bull rush that did not at all directly result in the pick. Bills are playing great and I'm psyched they are 3-0 but to pretend like we have a good pass rush at this point is a little bit silly. It's OK to acknowledge both the good and the bad while rooting your team on.
  3. OK I guess I'm blind then. I'm watching the same game as you and rewatching the same game as you, and on the vast majority of snaps he is ineffective and loses a 1v1 matchup. Again, I hope this changes tomorrow, and I don't want to get get into a Merriman hating war because I am rooting for him. It would be nice if he registered a few sacks this year, some tackles for loss, and forty or fifty tackles. btw do you guys know how many other teams have recorded more sacks so far this year than the Bills have? here's hoping tomorrow turns that around
  4. I'm not hating, I WANT him to succeed. It's just obviously the case that so far he hasn't done much of anything. The defense needs to get better and Merriman having at least a minor impact would go a long way towards helping.
  5. I'm sick of this complete lack of production. He seems like a cool guy. He seems to bring leadership and a winning attitude to the team. He seems good at getting the boys ready to play. He has great intangibles. But damn son you gotta do SOMETHING on the field! That little taste we got in the preseason was nice, but he hasn't done **** so far this year in real games. I want to like you Shawne. I want to do the Lights Out dance in my living room and run out and buy a Merriman jersey. Giive me a reason tomorrow!
  6. i think it's probably big SON like, when you see your friend and you are like "what up son?" or when you beat some guy badly at something aka you "sonned" him
  7. The logo doesn't really have a penis. There is a very tiny little bump, almost imperceptible.
  8. The Bills have always had some of the least appealing cheerleaders. It's just the nature of a small market, cold weather town. Don't get me wrong, they are still hot compared to real life average girls on the street. It's just that if you want to compare them to the cheerleaders or other NFL teams, they tend to be slightly less appealing. I wouldn't kick them out of bed or anything, they just don't quite measure up to some other cheerleaders out there. Who cares, though? You only see them during the game for a brief moment here and there going to commercial, and at the stadium you are too far away to closely see their faces and they all have good bodies so whatever. The Steelers don't even HAVE cheerleaders! That's kind of bad ass.
  9. The screen cap I posted is on his way back DOWN from the stands. She was touching his chest area until he started to slide down out of the stands and then she went for the gold.
  10. No one would offer even a 2nd rounder for Spiller, so a trade is extremely unlikely.
  11. Fitz in fact has good accuracy. Every once in a while, though, a ball simply gets away from him. Also he will occasionally just make a really bad choice, like one of the near picks against Oakland or that deep ball this week to Nelson that drew the pass interference. So, yah, one gets away here and there and there are also some bad choices, but when he puts a nice throw on the ball it usually ends up right where he's aiming.
  12. Bills pass rush has been terrible, don't kid yourself. Team is playing great and everyone should be happy with results, but that doesn't mean that every single unit on the field has been performing at a top notch level.
  13. This story was taken from his new column: I think it's good to be reminded that this is the 10-year anniversary weekend for the Drew Bledsoe hit by Mo Lewis that led to the ascension of Tom Brady -- thanks, Adam Schefter -- but we all should remember one thing that, for some reason, seems to have been washed away by time. Brady's time was coming whether Bledsoe got hurt or not. The Patriot staff, Bill Belichick and Charlie Weis most notably, were tiring of studying tape and installing a game plan during the week, then having Bledsoe change an inordinate number of plays and make decisions outside of the progressions Weis wanted in the passing game. Unless Bledsoe led the Patriots to the same Super Bowl victory Brady did in 2001, I believe the Patriots would likely have made the quarterback change before the 2002 season. Bledsoe was a very good player for the Patriots, to be sure. But even in Buffalo, the staff tired of him taking such strong control of the offense -- and other things. The Bills let Bledsoe walk after some big losses in his third year with the team, 2004. None bigger than the last one, a loss to Pittsburgh on a windy day in Buffalo. Winds were whipping up pretty strong that day, and before he walked out to midfield for the flip, Bledsoe was advised by coaches to choose to defend the east goal if Pittsburgh won the toss and elected to receive. (Though the official play-by-play listed the wind as coming from the south that day, Buffalo coaches felt it was an easterly wind.) That way, the Steelers wouldn't be wind-aided when they took the ball. Pittsburgh won the toss. Pittsburgh elected to receive. Bledsoe said Buffalo would defend the west goal. West? Bledsoe explained that when he got to midfield, it seemed to him the wind was whipping around differently than the way the coaches thought, and so he picked the opposite goal to defend. Bledsoe had a seesaw 16-of-30 day and Pittsburgh won 29-24. Bledsoe never played again for Buffalo. Bledsoe is very smart, but on a few occasions, thinking differently than his coaches hurt his employment career. And it affected the balance of power for years in the AFC East. Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/09/26/Week3/index.html#ixzz1Z8JxG17w I was never too much of a Bledsoe hater, but this makes me dislike him a lot more.
  14. Belichick and many of the Pats players had nice things to say about the Bills after the game.
  15. Agree 100% She's like a fine wine
  16. Here is a screen cap from the video that was linked above: http://i.imgur.com/8Ceh7.jpg
  17. Bills have obviously been playing great. However, the pass rush has been lackluster and was almost non-existent today. I understand they weren't rushing more than four on the vast majority of plays, but nonetheless the four man rush never really ever bothered Brady. The defense got pretty much shredded as a result, however, they came up with a couple big takeaways and also got a some lucky bounces for a couple more takeaways which turned out to be the difference.
  18. Have to disagree with people that think Merriman played well today. He was very ineffective, and has been so all season for the most part. He showed some flashes in the preseason, but thus far hasn't really done anything to show that he still can be an above average player in this league. I'm hoping there is merit to the speculation about some sort of shoulder injury, and it's not the case that he is just totally done. So many other bright spots on this team that I can't feel too bummed about Merriman, though!
  19. Pretty classy stuff from the Patriots and also surprisingly classy stuff (for the most part) in that thread.
  20. It's pretty cool that the Lions share the record with the Bills for the longest playoff drought and that they are also undefeated and also came back from a huge deficit today to get a divisional win. Can't help but feel like the Lions are kindred spirits and root for them.
  21. So far, I've been wrong about almost everything regarding the Bills. There are still some weak spots on defense that so far I've been right about, but on the whole I have never been so happy to be so wrong about something, ever!
  22. After his first season, I thought a lot of his picks were kind of lucky and he got into the Pro Bowl based mostly on inflated numbers. When he didn't do as well in his second season, I thought that was what we should really expect from him and didn't give any credence to the fact that he had a nagging injury. However, he is playing some BALL this season. I'm definitely eating my words regarding him (and on several other Bills topics). Kudos to Byrd for playing at such a high level. btw - that personal foul that was called against him today was total garbage. I mean, he's stuffing a receiver right at the first down line. The helmet to helmet was minimal and the receiver was turning upfield and he had to crack him hard if he wanted to stop his progress cold and prevent the first down.
  23. Amen! Nice bounce back game.
  24. When Florence went in, that was the first moment I truly believed the Bills would win. I always knew it was a possibility, and as the game went on felt they had a chance, but when Florence went in the whole thing all of a sudden felt a lot more real. Not saying I didn't believe in my team, it's just I was more feeling guarded optimism up until that point and when he scored it felt like this was actually going to be the day we beat the Pats.
