  1. Some people around here don't like him because he got a few harmless penalties while doing cool and entertaining celebrations. I personally love his antics and star power, but I hate his drops in the clutch. Nonetheless, he's a great talent and by far our best receiver. He's a bigtime player, and he's the caliber of guy you need on your team if you are going to be a winning franchise. The fact that they didn't extend him LONG ago is a testament to how poorly run this organization can be at times.
  2. the spiller pick was obviously terrible - if you won't admit that you are just being foolishly stubborn he's not even among the 15 running backs in the league (perhaps even lower) - that caliber of running back can be obtained MUCH later in the draft good teams don't draft running backs that high in the draft these days the worst part wasn't even the reach, it was the fact that there were so many areas of greater need on the team tat needed to be addressed before adding an additional running back
  3. Donahoe was a pretty good GM for the Bills. I feel that people who say otherwise are unfairly bitter. Let's look at his drafts: 2001 1 - Nate Clements 2 - Aaron Schobel 2 - Travis Henry 3 - Ron Edwards amazing draft 2002 1 - Mike Williams 2 - Josh Reed 2 - Ryan Denney 3 - Coy Wire poor draft, obv williams ruined it 2003 1 - Willis McGahee 2 - Chris Kelsay 3 - Angelo Crowell 4 - Terrence McGee another great draft 2004 1 - Lee Evans 1 - JP Losman rolled the dice on a QB. didn't work out but you have to take your shots. 2005 2 - Roscoe Parrish mortgaged the 2005 draft in 2004 Donahoe also did very well in free agency, building a great defense by bringing in guys like Spikes, Fletcher, Adams. Williams and Losman were HUGE failures and ruined his time with the Bills. He let some guys like Winfield and Pat Williams and such go in free agency when perhaps they could have been kept. He made some big mistakes, but the Bills were competitive under him and if his big franchise picks at QB and T had panned out a little better they might have turned the corner. Most importantly, though, during the Donahoe era there was at least a feeling of HOPE, and the Bills were legitimately close to being a contender. Since he left they haven't been even remotely close to doing anything.
  4. Lets just drive our electrifying playmakers out of town and stock up on bland no-talent white guys. Good idea guys. I guess the only way not to get depressed with the bills I'd to convince yourself that their retarded philosophies are somehow correct. Dummies.
  5. They still have him benched over "happy new year"!? What a joke franchise. Way to make sure he will leave in free agency. Wtf bills.
  6. What did his shirt say???
  7. some franchises have strong ownership that hire quality front office people who bring in good coaches and players some franchises dont
  8. maybin sucks bills pass rush also sucks but maybin sucks more /thread
  9. That stat is not surprising at all. Most receivers average well more than 10 yards per reception. Naturally most of them are going to be for first downs.
  10. I'm just saying that even if that unit doesn't turn it around, this is the most fun and entertaining team in a long, long time. I'm not saying the team should accept mediocrity and not strive for greatness, I'm saying that as a fan this team has WAY overdelivered on the entertainment front, and that makes me happy
  11. In 2009 the Bills scored only 25 touchdowns and were perhaps the most unwatchable team in the league. In 2010 the Bills improved slightly, scoring 34 touchdowns, which still put them in the bottom third of the league. In 2011 the Bills have scored 20 touchdowns through 5 weeks, a total surpassed only by the Packers! --- I am skeptical about the defense. I recognize we've had some lucky breaks. There are certainly things that make me hesitant to view the Bills as a Super Bowl contender. However, I just want to take a moment and point out that the Bills have played five very entertaining football games. No longer do I get the urge to go check out what is going on in the other games because the Bills game is so horribly boring. Whatever happens this year, this is by far the most entertaining and exciting product the Bills have put on the field in many, many years - and for that, as a fan, I am very thankful! Go Bills!
  12. Thanks for sharing this story, it made me smile
  13. There are a lot of people on this forum that WANT the Bills to fail. That is nothing new.
  14. Eagles D is weak, and their offense was hot. I think the Bills had a variety of ways they could have gotten half a yard - Fitz sneak, Smith wildcat, Jackson run, etc.
  15. The Eagles fall to 1-4. If they had beat the Bills, they would have been 2-3 with an upcoming game against the Redskins and a chance to knock the Redskins down a peg and get back to 3-3 heading into their bye. Instead their playoff picture becomes very grim. Remaining schedule: @Redskins Cowboys Bears Cardinals @Giants Patriots @Seahawks @Dolphins Jets @Cowboys Redskins There is some chance 9-7 could get them in, but it's likely that they need to finish 10-6 to make the playoffs. Even if they manage to avoid injuries, which is a big 'if', going 9-2 down the stretch looks like a pretty tall order. This game was basically a must-win for the Eagles, and the Bills delivered a knockout blow. Go Bills!
  16. NFL refs are far from amateurs. They all have a wealth of experience in officiating and are the best available and rise through the ranks over the years. They also get paid 50k/year for part time work.
  17. LOL - and I mean it, I literally laughed out loud!
  18. Quit crying about the refs. The defense played like gutless wimps down the stretch. Refs aside, all they had to do was make one stop anywhere late in the game and it would have been fine. You can't just always try to find an excuse for failure, sometimes you have to own it.
  19. The defense showed no heart late in the game and just bent over and took it. Poor coverage, poor rush, poor tackling - just a plain old weak effort in crunch time.
  20. Whether or not he is pro/anti Bill aside, he is just one of the worst commentators in sports. He rarely has anything useful to say, and often gets things very wrong. Great Bill, terrible sportscaster.
  21. Penis Lawn got lit up like a Christmas tree.
  22. We can overlook this weak defense when they are getting a bunch of lucky turnovers and the offense is scoring tons of points. However, the showed ZERO backbone or heart as they let Cincy absolutely dominate them down the stretch. Truly shameful stuff.
  23. Yes, I was speaking in hyperbole. Merriman is better than Maybin, and I gave him some other praise in the OP. All I'm saying is the Bills need a better pass rush going forward to keep consistently winning, and that I hope Merriman plays a key part in that. Let's Go Buffalo
  24. ruffmuff - please read the post directly above yours. i'm not surprised you missed it, since you seem terrible at this whole posting thing. again, please enjoy this picture illustrating how little you know http://i.imgur.com/5YiNQ.jpg thanks for posting
  25. just to highlight how badly ruffmuff fails at posting, here is a photo of the play in question as brady delivers the ball http://i.imgur.com/5YiNQ.jpg this is a screenshot of the highlight video at 1:54 (http://www.nfl.com/videos/buffalo-bills/09000d5d8228cdba/Patriots-vs-Bills-highlights) merriman has been decent against the turn, and the entire team has been decent against the run - which is GREAT! the defense is playing better than they did last year. now let's step it up and get a little bit more pressure on the qb! I'm not, but I'm happy sacrificing sacks for wins! I would just like to see both is all, and I think an effective pass rush is part of a winning formula.
