  1. Why can't the NFL set up a centralized review operation in NY every week and assign a person to each game? That person -- an "official" of sorts -- is responsible for watching the game and contacting the officiating crew if something needs to be reviewed/changed? You don't have to eliminate the coaching challenges but all of this other stuff could be handled "upstairs" -- sort of like the way the NHL "goes to Toronto" for reviews.
  2. Did he seem really smart? You know, he went to Harvard...
  3. Any team that drafts Daniel Jones in the 1st round is going to wind up VERY disappointed.
  4. No. Many (most?) of the 14-16 seeds are in only because of winning their conference tournaments, but they are crappy teams. So those bids are spoken for. The 11 vs. 11 games are typically between at-large bid teams. Ha, you beat me to it.
  5. It would be a huge waste of time and expense given the nature of the charge, but who doesn't want to see this actually go to trial against Kraft? He probably wouldn't testify, but... "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please direct your attention to the video monitor at the front of the courtroom..."
  6. The key to beating Dook isn't stopping Zion...it's stopping Barrett, or at least making him take an inordinate amount of shots to get his points. Make no mistake, they are the prohibitive favorite to win this thing for good reason, but they are not unbeatable.
  7. I'm a fan of COLLEGE basketball. The game was the only one being played at the time, on national TV. That's showcased. Yes, I still know that FDU's Darnell Edge lit it up in the game. It's fun for the schools and players. Everything isn't created for the at-home "I-only-want-to-see-stars" viewers. A final four without lottery picks is a dream to me.
  8. You can make a lot of money playing bridge? Who knew?
  9. It's great because it gives several teams an opportunity for their games to be "showcased" without knowing it is going to be a blowout. What do #16 seeds really have to get excited about? Last night Fairleigh Dickinson got to be the only show in town for a national audience. That's kind of cool.
  10. @row_33 and @KD in CA is this really that upsetting to you? I think it's great. What was dumb is when they first started it and called these four games "round 1" -- they finally scrapped that stupid idea.
  11. That's a funny way to look at it but I don't think McCarron would have played very well behind that crappy OL and with that group of receivers. That said, I'm really glad Allen got to play as much as he did. Isn't McCarron's wife from Texas? She's the most interesting part of his story anyway...
  12. My friend and big Rams fan believes this as well. Last year he was telling me that was their best shot.
  13. Oh the Pegulas have been far from perfect but at least one gets the sense they are now staying out of the way.
  14. I watched most of FDU/Prairie View and a good bit of Belmont/Temple. FDU made a great comeback but I doubt they'll give Gonzaga much of a game. Nice to see both FDU and Belmont get their first ever NCAA tourney wins. Belmont is a sneaky upset pick on Thursday.
  15. Bigger than the one over Barr? That’s asking a lot.
  16. Oh that is fracking perfect. This will end beautifully.
  17. This is pretty spot on. I've never read something from Rodak and said, "hey, I never thought about it that way." Nothing special about him at all. Graham, while an excellent writer, is indeed a douche unless you've navigated your way into his protected circle.
  18. I'm tired of the 20/20 hindsight regarding Mahomes. It was not a consensus opinion that he was a franchise guy -- plus everyone knew the 2018 draft was coming. Fair points regarding Star and Murphy, but that's 2 out of 9. Star did what he was brought here to do, and Murphy got hurt. Murphy is basically a two year deal, though -- if they cut him after this season he's only 1.75M of dead cap. You can argue about draft picks until the cows come home. The first two drafts by McD (with Whaley's scouts) and Beane have been pretty good. You're ignoring the fact that Beane and McD had a plan to reshape the organization and weren't going to try to put band-aids on what Whaley left behind.
  19. Yeah, that veteran team that hadn't done diddly poo. It's amazing the conjecture and opinion you throw out as fact -- now we hear that Whaley was good with the cap and the Dareus contract was a Pegula favor to Todd France! This is priceless.
  20. Pretty certain if they sign Isabella he will be an instant HOFer. At least that's what I've read in other threads.
  21. I'm sure it's no surprise that I disagree with much of this post. The Bills did not intend for last year's UFA class to lead them into the future -- they were stopgap signings in a year they knew would be painful. The difference between the type of signings Beane has made this year and last year is night and day, and they are ALL team- and cap-friendly. The signings this year could represent 5-6 starters (Morse, Brown, Beasley, Kroft, Nsekhe, Long) and have completely changed the narrative about the WR room and competition on the OL. Of course Beane shouldn't have to be so active in FA -- that's what happens when the team lacks talent. I know you think Beane should have come in and run with what was here -- that it was possible to make a few moves and not re-set the entire organization. That's fine -- you're entitled to your opinion -- but we'll never know if that would have worked. What we do know is that he did a pretty masterful job of following his plan and cleaning up the books so he and McD could go after the players they wanted. If these UFAs don't perform Beane will be subject to justifiable criticism -- but it doesn't make sense to predict that already, and he built in protections for the team in the way these deals have been structured if they don't pan out.
  22. Damn. I was hoping for the full idiotic breakdown. Waste of my time.
  23. If anyone answers "yes" to this question I move to have their TSW posting privileges immediately revoked.
  24. Weird article. Bottom line -- we'll never really know (until perhaps many years from now) if the Bills really wanted Darnold over Allen. I think they're pretty happy with where things are now, however.
  25. I don't read a lot into new signees' statements because, well, it's not like they're going to trash their new teammates. THAT SAID -- at least our QB situation is no longer PREVENTING players from seriously considering the Bills. And that's important.
